- Following a recommendation I test out the Virpil ACE rudder pedals, and I am not disappointed. All metal construction with high resolution provides exactly the level of control I have been looking for.

The comparison at 04:05 is exactly what I needed as I’m considering replacing my TPRs with the Virpil ace. Great work Mark.
Interesting video.
Btw, I like your "quiet professional" style.
I have these pedals and holy cow! The difference between these and what I had back in the day (CH Products pedals) is huge! No comparison at all. I still have some work to do with dialing them in. I do need to grab the damper kit.
I was pleasantly surprised finally an Awesome Rudder Peddles and this good review Thank You
I’ve had my Virpil ACE for about 2 years and love them. For US buyers everything is 10% off right now. I got the flight pedals but should have bought the interceptor or collection. I didn’t get the damper and they are springy but usable, think you’ve convinced me to upgrade.
Just placed an order for the Ace with a dampener. On "backorder". Hope it's not too long of a wait. I had just about decided on the WinWing Orion, until I realized tehy don't ship to the US.
Once again, nice review. Good price for the Virpils. I have a damper kit for my TPR rudder pedals, and they are excellent!
Where did you get them from…sounds perfect!
I added a damper to my TPR’s as well, love the way they feel.
I have VPC ACE Interceptor Pedals and DOF reality H2. You can install them without bottom plate, like so that you bolt them down just from the bottom part and upper part is outside of the DOF plate mounting. It is sturdy and have been working great.
I'm already use Virpil hardware, mainly for Throttle and Stick, and I love it (although I would love my Moongost stick to be made out of metal). I just need to upgrade my rudder pedals. Still using the Thrustmaster plastic ones.
I got the same VIRPIL ACE Flight pedals in December. The default spring is way too light for me so I also installed the heavy spring. Even with the heavy spring the movement didn’t feel realistic enough so I bought the VIRPIL dampener shown in the video and have used it for a few weeks. The dampener truly changes the feel of the pedal. You can also change the level of dampening. You twist a knob which clicks. There are a little over 20 clicks possible and right now I use about 12.
I am using 14 😀👍
I picked these up last year alongside a Mongoose and WarBrd-D base. Love the Stick and Throttle, but as for the Rudder Pedals, not a fan at all. They sit high under the desk, making your thighs hit the bottom unless you lower your seat considerablly. In addition, they wobble a lot due to their base design (top weighted) and have no center dampener which makes them 'bounce back' the reverse direction when making larger corrections. When Mark says its "springy" unless you have a dampener mod hes absolutely right. You notice it a lot if you try and slip GA aircraft, and is not ideal for someone who flys bush aircraft a lot. I love the rest of my virpil setup, but I genuinely went back to my cheaper logitech plastic rudder pedals, and put this in my closet. Perhaps will use them when the logitech ones eventually die out, but will probably need to do one of the community mods that add dampening. Still wouldn't solve my other issues with the design. Overall, I cant say i really recommend them personally, esp for the price and the added cost of import fees + the cost of a third party dampener.
Thought I would share my experience.

Thanks for your feedback. Do you have the damper? Also mine are bolted to my rig.
You must have a really low desk or perhaps need to adjust the distance. I've got my chair up to the max and have no problem s. I've also screw them in to a cross section my desk has, lowering the height. All I need now is the damper.
Thank you
I have a H3 and Virpill pedals. I extended the foot plate of my h3 with a DOF Hotas mounting plate bolted on to the foot plate . Then mounted one side of pedals without base to this. And other to foot plate. You can get a dof adapter plate or just drill your own holes to march up , as Virpil and DOF use different mounting measurement standards for mounting. The dampener kit and Virpil peddles are a winning combination.
I have these. They feel Pro😎
Oh interesting they are too wide are they for the H3 even with the feet removed I assume, yeah I did not know that good to know thanks
I wonder if you could look at Winwing controllers, particularly the Orion 2 15E/EX HOTAS ? The more I talk to people about the pending replacement of my Saitek X52 Pro, the more I'm being told about this Winwing unit. Many thanks if you can.
Hello, very interesting. Have you tried MFG Crosswind rudder pedals ? About the same price range and very good too. They are only 50 cm wide vs 53,5 cm vs Virpil
Thanks, I haven’t tried them.
Interesting thanks. Fyi, as I recall in RL the Tomahawk is not squirrelly like this for rudder/steering control on take-off nor landing. I have noticed this before as if the rudder control centre is too sensitive? A generic issue in MSFS 2020? Regards. Laurie NZ. 😊
I was deliberately applying small amounts of rudder to emphasis the responsiveness with no sensitivities set. Recommended -35%
Mark do you have the damper mod on the TPR pedals? I have seen there is one out there
No, didn’t know about it. Do you have a link?
I added one to mine but got the damper, spacers, bracket and bolts from Amazon. Not expensive at all and installation not too bad after I figured out how to do it.
May I ask which NLR simpit you have? The NLR simpit I have is too narrow for my Thrustmaster TPR so definitely would not be compatible with the Virpil pedals.

@@SimHangerFS Thanks
Would it be possible or practical to incorporate force feedback into rudder pedals?
Brunner do a set. They’re the only ones I am aware of. Price is steep.
Anyone that uses these - how much of an upgrade over the Velocityone pedals you do you consider these to be?
Do you think the realism of those rudder pedals is better even though you have to rest your feet on top of them instead of having your heels on the ground?
An alternative set of footrests are available
Interestingly, I was tought to fly with the heels on the floor but Magdar (ATR captain and instructor) recommends in his videos to fly with feet fully on the pedals to be quicker in emergency braking.
I might have missed it but I didn’t hear if they were Xbox compatible
Regrettably not Xbox compatible
Very cool but I just noticed they have smaller travel angle on rudder axis compared with my "home made - all metal - coming from a tank - rudder pedals" made for me by a friend.
The rest is very nice for Virpil.
VIRPIL DO NOT include any tools for these anymore. Just purchased the collection version at £389.95 to find out in order for me to setup VIRPIL UK store sells their tool kit at an expensive £39.90
Not sure what is different to me mark i have a p3 and the virpil pedals fit fine full range of motion . I will send you a photo on Discord
Just spotted something, my pedals came with a number of different shaped pedals configurations, i have it slightly different to you.
Some pictures on Discord. in general chat.
