Thank God there’s someone like you to share your knowledge on the CM3 I have the CM2 stick base and want to add the CM3 throttle but the program looks terribly insane to use. Thanks man
There are enough videos to get you where you need/want to go. There are many things I still dont understand but I also try not to over configure the sticks so Im good. You will be too.

I have been shopping for Virpil but everything says back ordered, how long did it take you to receive yours if it was on back order by chance? It would be shipping to the US.
Now I know I can add buttons to the mode switch, I'm going to have to re-think my DCS bindings.
Maybe mode 1= green lights for start up/take off, mode 2= blue lights for navigation and mode 3 red for combat etc.
Physical and logical buttons keep tripping me up but having your vids helps a lot, thank you.

Great, thank you - I will try this out, maybe in conjunction with setting up my control panel 3 as a slaved device. Although that might cut into the number of physical buttons with multiple logical functions, if the total limit for the two devices is 128 logical buttons, where as leaving the throttle and control panel as unlinked units in theory would permit 2x128 logical buttons. Assuming anyone could remember that many buttons :-)

Thanks.. I couldn't find any explanation of this modifier that I had to choose at the initial setup of the Throttle. Now It's rather logical coming from a X52 Pro it has a similar function but I had no clue that it meant this.

Do the shifts only apply to the panel, or could you also shift Constellation Alpha buttons? Great video btw!
Man, setting these things up really is a science unto itself.
"Quick" question: Is it ok to re-use an existing profile when you update your VPC software? I've just done that today for my CM3 throttle (was using VPC version from 2022 IIRC) and the old profile seems to work as expected, but I did notice some minor stuff. Namely that the selector would not change back colors on the throttle's LED buttons when I set it to mode 5 - it would just stay on that mode's color when I rotated the switch back. Under "Shift Setup" button 5 was set to "TGL" instead of "ON" like all the others, so I simply changed that and now it seems to work again.
Another thing I noticed is that I'm not getting the correct image for my throttle under the "Profile"-tab (just a red x icon) and it also isn't set to "5-way Shift" by default in the second pull-down menu in there. Doesn't seem to affect the throttle's behavior, but I do wonder if I should maybe make a brand new profile. Which I'm not looking forward to, since I remember setting up the throttle-axes to give me those engine on/off button presses below my detents was a bit of a chore.. :D
Very Very Helpful. You are my bridge friend, can I call you a friend. I am a 10 year player of Warthunder. Previously had the Thrustmaster 4 Thotas. Was fine, until I stumbled on Virpil. Set up and install went well. Game Calibration has been a struggle, not any plug and play options, UI is great, but we need more to navigate these settings. I do have a question with something I would like to understand, the Flaps Lever on the right side of the base. I cant seem or have not yet found how to bind it. I am on my way to see video mentioned. Amazing how 5 and a half minutes of video has captured me for over an hour, watching, adjusting, rewinding. Much Appreciated! God Bless.
I didn’t realise this would override my no-modifiers profile.. I didn’t have it saved or exported so when I followed this tutorial I lost all my key binds and custom detent settings. Is there any way to get that back or do I have to sit down for hours re doing everything again?

Can you please do a guide for new players to dcs? I just got the mongoose and a nxt evo joystick but I have no idea what should and shouldn’t be mapped and what people just use the mouse for in the cockpit… I’m so lost and it’s disheartening :( I would like to fly a fa18c if they matters
Nice thanks. I'd like to switch colors on buttons. Ex: B1 in green, I push the button and it goes Red. And reverse from, red to green. I'd like to do the same for the joystick Warbird while I'm fireing.

Hi Jon, wonderful informative content, thank you so much. Can i ask a simple question?, I have the CM2 Throttle/TM F-18 stick, how would you set the (rudders brakes), as the F-18 has no twist for rudder? Kudos
I just got DCS and its my first flight sim, I have decent finances so i got a mongoose, and man am I lost :( I didnt realize how techinical it was gonna be just to install the throttle let alone set it up on DCS... Do you happen to do discord chats or something for some private help?

Works in the virpil software but dcs doesnt recognize the new buttons
I saved my profile (which I made with no modifier) with all my DCS settings in. Can I create a new profile with "5 way mode modifier" keeping my DCS settings saved in my old profile? Thx
Is there a way to use this modifier to change de throttle axis ids/names? I play IL-2 and I would like to have profiles for single and two engines. Each profile would have a different axis layout. Unfortunately IL-2 don't let me create profiles for each plane, I was wondering if I could use this modifier for it.
Great video, question though, does it matter if you have your devices connected to a USB 2.0 or a USB 3.0? If it does matter what is a good USB 3.0 port to get?

Can different modes have different ranges for axes calibrations? That is for mode 1 jet, I want the idle cutoff button activation to occur below the lowest value range for the throttle axis. Mode 2 helicopter, I would want the full range of motion to control the collective, ignoring the idle cutoff button.

@Sergio it is not. You would have to slave the panel to use the throttles 5 way modifier.
does it slide on the desk? is it smooth?
The rubber feet keep it from sliding.
The 5-way switch on my CM3 is set up correctly and works as intended. I also have the VPC Control Panel #1. When I have it slaved to the CM3, the 5-way switch will change the LEDs on the control panel along with the throttle, but the control panel doesn't actually have any more button bindings. Is this working as intended?
You will have to manually add the shift to your buttons.
appreciate the vids but virpil needs to work on a more user friendly ui this thing is a PITA

Encoders yes axis not that I’m aware of.
