Nice video. Personly I recommend people to go with Fluval EVO 13.5 gal for saltwater aquarium. The main difference between these two tanks is the stock light. The light from this 9 gal tank designed for freshwater. It's not good enough for corals. Unless you will get another light. I do have a EVO 13.5, its pretty good. And I'm looking for this flex 9 gal tank too for my first freshwater tank.
Xin He I would have went with the Evo under different circumstances. Even with my JBJ nano I’m debating getting corals since I have so much other stuff to take care of.
Very cool hobby..my friend has a huge salt water tank with all kinds of fish and eels and even a small sea skate. My father used to have a 10 gal fresh water aquarium but it was a lot of maintenance to keep up with so he gave it up once the final fish died. I think ill stick with carnivorous plants they seem like a much easier hobby to care for lol
I mean, it's all relative based on how busy people are and what they consider hard work. I clean out a whole barn full of horse shit so swapping out a bucket of water every 2 weeks isn't something I consider incredibly hard. Even water tests just require a few drops in a glass vial. Other than that just toss in some food and these all in one set ups run themselves, however I have been doing this stuff for years and have a degree in biology so I may not fully understand how it doesn't come naturally for most people.
@@TheBonsaiJungle yh my dad just didn't have the time anymore to keep it going he'd been doing it his whole life and he never had live plants in it either..I heard they practically take care of themselves that way. He did have a plecostomus in there that did a lot of the cleaning for him so that helped lol
Metals in municipal pipes from tap water will contaminate the aquarium water over time. That is toxic to the fish and deadly. Prevention of a pending problem by reverse osmosis or distilled water eliminates that threat. Aquarists should always strive for the best conditions for their fishs' health, safety, and longevity. This is a good video in every aspect other than The tap water part. To say you don't care is not a very good attitude in any hobby involving life. Just my two cents.
This isn't a good size tank for clown fish, I highly recommend AGAINST this, basically animal cruelty. You need a 20 g tank for clown fish, this is spreading horrible information so that people can mistreat these beautiful fish.
No it isn’t. At no point did I say you should keep clownfish in a nano, but I did stage the aquarium for the video pulling the clown out of a 40g. The point of this aquarium was for use later on with mandarin Dragonets.
Can you explain how 9 gallons of water volume is not enough for a Clown fish? With an oversized pump and more filtration in the sump area in the back, to me this is a good FOWLR set up for a first time satwater tank.
Do you even own clown fish? In my 140 gallon tank, my two paired clowns never go more than 6 inches from their anenome. Clowns do not need 20 gallons nor would they ever even use a tank that large.
@@aaronfeyh4502 This goes to show you know nothing. You basically own the fish and pretend you know how to treat them because they are "doing just fine" lmao.
dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend recently :)

Converting my freshwater flex into a saltwater one right now. Mushroom coral should be able to deal with the bad lighting
Gonna set one of these up for a drawf seahorse group
Great content some good points and worth the watch
Is it good to keep a peacock mantis shrimp
I have the fluval flex 15 I’m getting 2 clowns what else would you recommend I put in there
I wouldn’t recommend putting two clowns in there, 10g is barely enough for 1.
@@TheBonsaiJungle thank you I’ll do 1 then but what can I put with 1?
@@brocktheking9807updates? Runnin a 15 with 2 clowns rn

Could I grow soft corals with the stock light?
Henri Lebovic I highly doubt it
Did you used protein skimmer ?
Not yet but I’ve been looking into getting one that will fit this tank
When you are older, you may sound just like Walter Cronkite..

i always wanted a salt water tank. i assumed they were complicated and never bothered to try. but i'd love to have seahorses and corals.
