How? It’s natural power. Second, Ohtani has highest barrel rate and his torque he puts on his swing is elite - Tiger woods type of coil and violent release. It’s elite. Btw, he’s 6’4”and 235 lbs - a big guy. Not as big as Stanton and Judge but he has more power per pound than both.

never known he is 6'4" but a tall & big guy. never a baseball fan and don't know much about it. however often come to watch highlights of him hitting home runs on UA-cam. guess quite a number of non-baseball fans come watching as well.

You guys are awesome and funny!! Btw Shotime is a Hugo Boss model, too, and the getup he had during the gala was a take on a male kimono inspired style 😀

He didn't dress himself; it was Hugo Boss who did. The last time he wore a suit at an occasion like that, it creased all over whenever he moved due to his size. People speculate that they made him wear a baggy suit to prevent creasing. However, I agree that they should have selected a better-fitting suit.

Ohtani has DH disadvantage in MVP race. So I'm just going to be humble and say at this point, he and mookie are in the race. I read somewhere that as DH you get -17.5 runs compared to a player that plays defense. So I am guessing he needs 18 runs more than mookie. He should pull ahead in june though

Hey you 3 are something else. One of Ohtani's endorsement is Hugo Boss!

Before he Shohei went to US, he said he could not be able to do both forever and there will be a time when he must choose to be a hitter or pitcher. Let’s Sohei decide when cause he is the one to know when.

it would be SO sad if he gave his best years to the angels though. He really overworked for those wins. Probably would have been double in a team like the dodgers

At the rate Shohei is recovering and rehabbing, you can be 100% sure he’s aiming at pitching, no matter what role for THIS postseason. Look at the WBC, he’ll do anything to get the Championship. Like his contract deal, his marriage, Ohtani will keep to himself in what he will do, but there’s only one thing on his mind, win as many WS in his prime and tenure with the Dodgers!
Imagine Ohtani closing Game 7 versus the Yankees, with the Dodgers leading 4:3 and he strikes out the last hitter, named Aaron Judge. Even a Yankees fan like me, but also a Shohei fan, it’s a fantasy dream come true! Deja vu of him striking out Trout at the WBC! 😂😂😂

      Imagine next year’s SP:
      No 1: Glasnow
      No 2: Yamamoto
      No 3: Ohtani
      No 4: Roki Sasaki
      No 5: Buehler…….
All they really need is a great closer!

Even when Ohtani was with the Angels, Trout mentioned that Ohtani is one of the worst dressers on the team.

Never understood fans taking a dump on players. They are far more successful than you are but that seems like a more of a reason to hate on them. (I'm referring to hate on the Marlins by the fat guy) Although I agree that Ohtani will probably win the MVP because he's awesome it isn't a lock. Just look at Mookie Betts.

Maybe Shohei should not DH on days he is pitching.

Why? Who would DH for him?

Shohei scored more extra bases and made more hits on the day he pitched and DH (about 50% more) than he DH alone! In order to hekp the pitcher Shohei, the hitter Ohtani is usu far more aggressive and more effective than when Shohei was not pitching(Pls look up codify data). Since Angels offense was very weak esp as Trout & Rendon were injured and absent for most games for last 3 seasons (&this season too), Shohei always carried Angels on his back alone and often won games one handed through both pitching and hitting(Sometimes Shohei wasn't pitching well too like he lost 5 runs to Orioles one time at his start but he immediately hit 2 HR and gained 5 RBI in 3 hits and at the end he won the game). Besides, you all forgot the fact that Shohei is a rehab pitcher, his pitching arm hasn't recovered. And Shohei is on rehab throwing every other day, he's still under his 2 way duty as a rehab pitcher and a full-time DH. However, it's true that Ohtani said he's having more time to concentrate on hitting while he's on rehab pitching program.
