“November Rain” is based on the short story “Without You”, written by Del James The story is about a rock star, grieving over the death of his girlfriend, who had committed suicide. It was inspired by Axl Rose’s troubled relationship with Erin Everly who's father was Don Everly of the Everly Brothers. "Wake Up Little Suzie" is my favorite Everly brothers song.

"Sweet Child of Mine" & "Paradise City" will make you fasten that seat belt. And yes... I'm gonna mention it again. Foo Fighters "The Pretender". Bad ass video. Bad ass lyrics. 🔥 Ps. Someone mentioned Axl has 7 octave range. Its actually 6 but its one of the greatest in music. And Slash is AMAZING.
the short story "Without You" by Del James, available in the book The Language of Fear. That short story is inspired by Axl Rose ( Mayne in the story) and his relationship with his ex-wife Erin Everly ( Elizabeth in the story), and describes in it the misery of a blues-influenced professional rock star, with millions of records. sold and apparently has everything, but things as simple as love and happiness can not find. He leaves his old girlfriend a phone message, he realizes that something is wrong when she does not answer, then he proceeds to go to his apartment and when no one answers, he knocks the door down to find who his girlfriend was with a shot in the head, who committed suicide while listening to a song that her lover had written for her, who upon seeing her enters a huge void and tries to commit suicide, but could not since the weapon only had one bullet. We immediately see Mayne sitting on his bed in a great depression, he could never overcome the death of Elizabeth and in the midst of an anger for his love he begins to destroy all the objects in his apartment, including the most valuable like his guitars. In the midst of his anger he sees the piano and decides to play it, a flame is lit creating a great fire, but he never stops playing the piano and there he dies.
This song drains me everytime I hear it, it's beautiful, then Slashs solo kicks in my heart starts racing, and by the time Axl wakes up I'm emotionally and physically exhausted, it's imperfect perfection, up there with Heaven & Hell, Painkiller, FreeBird & Stairway.
This is such a beautiful song, one of my favoite GNR songs. Guns N Roses are such a versitle band, I love Axl's voice so much I could die just listening to him sing the ABC's. Slash never disappoints on his guitar, I love him.
One of THE signature power ballads of the 90s...this is the musical equivalent of a movie epic. Back when MTV was music videos + The Real World? This was in HEAVY rotation!
He should be on the list. Nobody played within the song better than Slash...PERIOD! Also, he came up with some of the best solos ever. Who's solos were better? Ritchie Blackmore is the only one I can think of. Flat-out technical ability means little compared to the things that make Slash so great.
Came specifically for your reaction to the outro. Your face at 12:32 is exactly what I had hoped for!! You can just tell something awesome is coming right when Slash hits that chord. And 12:49 is the exact face I make every time that solo comes in haha.
Mi banda favorita desde siempre y para siempre Guns and roses⚘️😎❤️, los escuche por primera vez cuando tenia 6 años y ahora que tengo 34 años los sigo escuchando, saludos desde Ciudad de México🇲🇽✌️🤩
Mr. Video: "I can take the seatbelt off, I feel safe. I feel safe Guns N' Roses, in the November rain." Axl: "Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain."
You: "I feel safe" Me: "oh dear ..." My take on this video, which is an epic classic and a perfect representation of this epic song is that when the rain comes and the entire wedding gets ruined, it is symbolism for the tradgedy and catastrophe that is her death. Years ago when this video first came out I used to sit and wonder what the hell killed her at her reception. That's too simplified. I think she died shortly after they married, maybe there was rain involved..who knows, a car accident? In any event, he connects the rain and the time period after the wedding ceremony with losing her. I don't think I've seen a better reaction to the end of this video. There just isn't anything that can be said! Btw, his name isnt Alex, it's Axl (pronounced Axel)..like the thing on a car that holds the wheels. 😂 Also..that guitar solo scene was done pre drones. That was a helicopter getting those shots, thus the dust.
It's based on a short story and the implication is that she committed suicide via gunshot. That's why the casket is mirrored - half her head is, well, gone. You can see at a couple points in the video where she looks unhappy and is staring into distance, but is trying to hide it ( 4:08 , 9:15 , 10:17 ).
@@TheCabIe I remember when this video came out, my friend and I were commenting about the look on her face when she got into the car at the church. That was NOT the look of joy or happiness. You could definitely see an underlying sadness in her expressions if you really look. We noticed it, but it didn't click.
Oh god today I was like I wish you would react to November Rain lmao, never clicked so fast! Hope you will react to more Guns N' Roses. You should do Don't Cry and Estranged next, to complete the trilogy.

Then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin'

On their own
Don't you know you need some time all alone
I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you
Sometimes I need some time
On my own
Sometimes I need some time all alone
Everybody needs some time
On their own
Don't you know you need some time all alone
And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain, oh yeah
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain

Ps. Someone mentioned Axl has 7 octave range. Its actually 6 but its one of the greatest in music. And Slash is AMAZING.
Definitely needs some Foo Fighters videos on here.
the short story "Without You" by Del James, available in the book The Language of Fear. In the midst of his anger he sees the piano and decides to play it, a flame is lit creating a great fire, but he never stops playing the piano and there he dies.
if you want another wild one listen to guns n roses paradise city
Yessss!
Please take me home!
Paradise city will have you rock'n out.
@@jamielake-boyd3600 oh how I wanna see that!✨
That song is so over played even now
This song drains me everytime I hear it, it's beautiful, then Slashs solo kicks in my heart starts racing, and by the time Axl wakes up I'm emotionally and physically exhausted, it's imperfect perfection, up there with Heaven & Hell, Painkiller, FreeBird & Stairway.
I was so in love with Slash when I was 13. I was alsow in love with his guitar skills especially in this song ❤❤❤
One of my favorite songs. I learned the solos when I was 13. I'm 38 now and still loving playing and hearing this. Masterpeice.
That's supermodel Stephanie Seymour, Axl's then girlfriend. At the time this was one of the most expensive videos ever shot.
Most of it went on that dirty wedding dress 😂😂😂😂
Was an epic video and song back in the day...Slash, master of the lean back guitar playing.
Great song and great reaction video. Loving your work!
Went to the jungle and checked it out. I swear, most days you are the only thing that makes me smile or laugh. Thank you. 😊
One of my favorite gnr songs.
Still gives me chills ❤️
Love the Slash solo respect. He isn't on my top 5 list of Rock Guitarists, but he's definitely on my top 5 list of Coolest Rockers.
He should be on the list. Nobody played within the song better than Slash...PERIOD! Also, he came up with some of the best solos ever. Who's solos were better? Ritchie Blackmore is the only one I can think of. Flat-out technical ability means little compared to the things that make Slash so great.
Saw them live in the late 80s in Mannheim, Germany. When Slash smashes the Bass, your whole body was vibrating. Great Concert. Nice Memories.
Those numbers are climbing higher Leo. Pretty soon your gonna be getting your 1st 'Play Button'..
Rock on partner..👍👍👍
Yeeesss! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️
You took that seat belt off too soon! We all knew what emotional roller coaster was yet to come.
Nobody plays that solo like Slash. True legend.
I feel safe Guns N' Roses, in the November rain."
Axl: "Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain."
You: "I feel safe"
Me: "oh dear ..."
My take on this video, which is an epic classic and a perfect representation of this epic song is that when the rain comes and the entire wedding gets ruined, it is symbolism for the tradgedy and catastrophe that is her death. That was a helicopter getting those shots, thus the dust.
tbh I don't think a drone would be better. the deliberate choice of the helicopter to create the dust swirls was inspired. they also used a crane
@@mythdefied9070 it's good stuff!
"Whatcha all about to do? Come on!!! Don't be doing that!!!!". You crack me up, Mr. Video!!!!! 😂😂😂😂✌️
Love how Slash does the whole solo with a cigarette in his mouth.
3:11 - “I’m not crying...that’s smoke in my eye. Literally” 😄😄
Oh god today I was like I wish you would react to November Rain lmao, never clicked so fast! Hope you will react to more Guns N' Roses. You should do Don't Cry and Estranged next, to complete the trilogy.
Slash, the guitarist is awesome.
And he has the best hair ever.
Your cheating yourself if you dont do more!!! "Patience", "Sweet Child O mine" & "Dont Cry!!!"
Yes yes yes💖💖💖
Rocket Queen is their best song. That is all, lol.
I'm so glad you let Slash's entire solo play. It's so mesmerizing to me.
In the early 90’s when these guys were all on top of there game they were the biggest band in the world, they were bigger than Metallica and it looked like they would be the next Rolling Stones, I no that’s a big statement but I was there as a witness, unfortunately ego’s and drugs derailed what seemed like an unstoppable force. Thank you Mr. Video!! BTW Slash is the guitarist, top 5 metal/hard rock guitarist to ever pick up the instrument!!!👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤘🏻🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎🐐
Ugh this is one of my top five favorite songs of all time. Slash's solo gives me life
As a kid I loved it when a “Heavy Metal” band performs a ballad.
Alice Cooper, “Only women bleed” is another one.
Smiles on ya Mr. Video
And Cinderella “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone) 💔
Love some axle!! Got another one from back in the day... Alannah Myles Black velvet.. awesome voice..
"Axel" like Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop. Like the axel for the wheels on a car. 🙂
No, its Axl not Axel.
@@iamperplexed4695 i was referring to how it's pronounced, but yes. You're correct regarding spelling. Thanks for clarifying that. 🙂
“Turn the tv off, collect your own thoughts, see how crazy you really are.”
My brother, some of the realest words I’ve ever heard.
Love you’re loving Gn’R. My favorite band of all time
Does anyone else see a baby's face on the square pillow on the couch or is it me?
I've replayed that solo many times.... It's all good
I think 99% of people wait in anticipation for that Slash solo. 💕🇦🇺
Slash makes it sound like the guitar is crying.
I really enjoy watching the youngsters discovering the music I grew up with and love. Brings warm feelings to my heart it does.
I love Guns N' Roses
Baaaaaaaby!
Yess, Slash Solo so soulfully and bring us to another place. What a legendary melody!
Check out "Civil War" or "Coma" for what I would consider their masterpieces. Even Axl says the end of Coma was the best lyrics he ever wrote.
If he needed a seatbelt for Welcome to the Jungle he's gonna need bubble wrap and roll bars for Coma.
Powerful stuff. And this shows you the kind of range they had as artists. They could get you ready to fight, or break your heart. Beautiful stuff.
Am I the first comment?!?!? I don’t have anything to say but HEY!!!! 👋🏾 and it’s Axl (Axel) Rose
12:52 that time when you asked "what happened" but you can't just resist Slash's beautiful fcking solo and just forget about everything withba melted face. Can't blame you though, slash is slash GOAT!
I think you'd love "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City"!
You took your damn seatbelt off and she died, see what you did. Lol, love you, Mr. Crazy 😜
This song + slash = awesome
My guy I’ve been a fan for a long time and didn’t even realize you were this multi/faceted as far as your appreciation for music. Not cause of you but cause i only ever watch rap reactions. I’m 39 and be honest I didn’t I had my hip hop channels out here reacting to all the damn music I love. Respect
104K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg👏👏👏👏👏👏 Leo gonna get a UA-cam award
My two sons now grown used to play Guitar Hero when they were young, that's how they got introduced to Slash,he was one of the character, lol! Slash is a living legend, one of the best.
The end of reception and funeral scenes mess me up every time
I always love when Slash walks to the top of the piano, saw him do that in concert and LOVED it, he's so badass. Yet, seems no one really notices it in the video.
