Ryan, you’re such a crazy, funny guy! I’m so glad you’re taking plastering lessons from Simon. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher! Good job 💜
Plastering is a real skill! I’ve seen some horrible sheet rocking. It’s a travesty. Lucky Ryan to have a MASTER TRADESMAN to teach him. These skills will serve Ryan well.
Simon is the perfect coach to do a training. He is so patient! 🎉 so respectful. He can easely be the best boss of a team work. He take the time to listen to others. He work so well!! What a partner at work! So precious. 🌟
Does anybody else thinks Ryan looks like Ali G in those glasses? Simon is such a patient, kind man and a wonderful teacher, not to mention his skill set!
😂. I love how naturally funny you are in your videos. I’m enjoying watching you gain skills and confidence in your renovatings in your apartment at the convent currently undergoing renovations in rural france. 🤗💕love to you from Scotland
Simon is awesome. His teaching Ryan with patience and giving him the confidence is amazing. Ryan look at all your learning I think we can all see your confidence level rising. Well done.
Simon ought to hold mater carpentry classes and charge for them like in vocational training. He's a patient and careful instructor. He teaches in a way that is very individualized to the person who he's instructing. Good job Ryan!
Old mate Simon is a very good teacher. It’s so common to see someone point out the faults of the person they’re training. Instead he encourages and reassures with the patience of a saint. That’s a true craftsman. What a great bloke 👍 And good on you Ryan for allowing yourself to be taught. A sign of maturity and wisdom 👍
By the time you have done a few more walls you will have the hang of it Ryan. Simon has so much patience when teaching someone, great to see. Enjoy your well earned beer 💕🇦🇺
I have a feeling that dear Simon (whom I adore) does not suffer Ryan’s antics the way we viewers do. But I still catch myself laughing out loud….”my elbow is not greasy enough”.
Well done Ryan! In addition to learning a “new” trade, you are seemingly refining a segment for an up and coming appearance on SNL!! A comedian in the making??!!?? Anyway, the plastering looks really good and I am sure will only get better as you practice, practice, practice. Crack on and BTW congrats for getting the new tools and protective gear. So happy to see you are protecting your very precious self...
Ryan, what a joy to watch you get a terrific plastering lesson from Simone. It looked like you were really getting the hang of it at the end. Cheers to you and Simon
Awesome video Ryan! You're so funny and entertaining but you are also showing great aptitude for renovation skills. Well done you! And I laugh so hard at your thumbnail process!
Ryan, you're so funny! I love the way you are overusing the word renovating in every episode. It's such a fun word to say as many times as humanly possible in one sentence!!
Simon is a natural born teacher. Ryan, you are quite the worker! You're learning these craftsman trades and becoming very adept. You will be able to build your own house from the floor joists to the trusses!
You are an exceptional teacher Simon. Very patient and good with showing, explaining and then letting Ryan loose. Well done!!! Lucky you Ryan to be taught by someone so knoweldgable and such a great teacher.
Ryan you are so blessed to have such a great teacher in Simon! Then to be able to practice, practice, practice what he taught you while he is still around to fix, assist and give you tips on how to improve is awesome. I wish I had that opportunity when I was fixing things up at my place. Loved watching this.
Drywall taping is done quite a bit differently here in the US. We often use paper tape and a taping knife rather than a skip trowel. Smooth walling drywall (plaster board) is expensive and we’ll often “orange peel” a wall with a hopper gun & hot mud and then a quick skim . Light sanding and paint. Simon is pure old school
Simon is such a great guy and a natural teacher. What a nice friend he is! Ryan, you are learning so many valuable skills. By the time you find your Chateau to renovate, you will be ready and confident in your ability. In the meantime, you will leave your best bud, Billy, with a newly refurbished apartment. Win/win! Onward and upward! Progress is going along smoothly now. Crack on! xx
What a brilliant couple of weeks you have had Ryan, from roof work, getting a fallen electritcy line fixed by the electrical company, learning to put up plaster board, removing a ceiling and learning to plaster, I think you definitely need to be proud of yourself for everything you have learnt this past fortnight. I did think when I saw you start to sand the wall by hand, my first thought was - and you thought stripping wallpaper was hard work 😂 - so I am pleased to hear you are going to get a tool to help with the sanding. I do love your videos as you always put a smile on my face - oh don't worry about the font, I watch your videos for you not the font you use. Love as always xx P.S we were even treated to a cameo of Billy ❤
So happy to hear that Simon is giving you some help with plastering. He has such patience. Good job Ryan! Now you can crack on by yourself...practice makes perfect!
7 bar, pry bar, breaker bar, nail bar. Congrats you are now a fully qualified demolition renovation expert. The quality of your workmanship jumped to the top rung just by holding the one and only tool you need. One man army now.
Great interactive class. It’s good to see you excited and happy, and learning from the Master. You are a quick study, and Simon is an awesome teacher. I knew he would get in on your apartment before long. Excellent job both of you.🖤🇨🇦
Simon is helping in training some skilled people, well done Simon for passing on your skills. Your doing great Ryan. You have a little fun parcel coming your way. It will be posted Monday. Hope it doesn't take to long. Have a great weekend everyone.❤🎉

This was so much fun to watch especially when Simon was trying to reach around you to help demonstrate getting the plaster on the trowel. What are you doing with the water heater room - I see wall paper lol?
Simon, he's a master. It's good to have such a teacher I'm sure you've all noticed your great new goggles, but there are ear cups and tools that will make your renovation easier, applaud Ryan!
I saw you destroying that ceiling for Billy. Awesome work. Destruction is definitely your niche. You work hard and you work well. You are going to rock the reno on that apartment.👍😁
I hope you appreciate how very much time your friends are investing in your increased skills so when you purchase your own home down the road you will be knowledgeable and skilled!! Blessings one who makes us all smile!! I hope you are as happy as you seem.
Why do you have to mention if he appreciates his friends? I think that’s a given .. it’s so tiring reading comment after comment mentioning whether Ryan appreciates his friends … he’s not a child he’s an adult and you can totally see he’s grateful. He’s a funny guy and has lots of banter but he also contributes in more ways than one. Fantastic team x
We females do appreciate of Simons lessons as well. Ryan...if your don't need your newly found plastering skills in future, you can turn it into cake making and get the icing so smoothly over the cake.... 😉😬Ask Simon if he is any good with sugar paste?
It’s lovely having a neat/tidy space around the outside of the buildings. As the inside reno work will take some time, you can now enjoy the area in front while you plug away at the barn and cottage.👏🏻
