      Hi! SO thankful for your experience and for sharing it through these videos!! I was wondering if you have suggestions on how I could learn to distinguish between what furniture pieces might be bleeders and require a priming vs what pieces are able to go without priming… even if you’d prime when using medium to dark colors. I am not familiar with how to determine the types of wood that makeup the pieces that I I’m working on. (I know that I’ve heard you mention things about mahogany and other types of wood having a great potential to bleed. I just don’t know how to look at a piece and tell what type of wood it is/if it’s the type that would bleed😞) But, would love to be able to skip the priming step as often as possible!🙌 Thank you so much!!

      @@smcgill491 Hi! Thank you so much! It's tough to determine sometimes, I am a furniture nerd so I find myself doing research sometimes when I don't know or asking others too. Cherry, Mahogany, red and golden oak can all be bleeders. Oaks (larger grain patterns) are fairly easy to tell as well as pine (knots). The others can fool you as it could just be a cherry finish not actual cherry wood. Cherry varies from rich red to reddish brown and The wood has a straight-grain, a fine, uniform, satiny and smooth texture, and naturally may contain brown pith flecks and small gum pockets. Mahogany is reddish to pink hues and being straight-grained, prone to fewer knots and free of gaps. Hope that helps! When in doubt prime it!

      @@BorninaBarnBoutique Wow! Such a quick and thorough reply! Thank you so much! I definitely need to do some research… But these descriptions are super helpful! So glad I found you! I was searching the Internet the other day for something that would let me know whether or not you could use fusion mineral paint in a paint sprayer. I landed upon your video where you used the midnight blue on the Italian dresser. It just so happens that the day I started searching, I had just purchased a Fusion Midnight blue- my first fusion paint and first mineral paint - and the piece that I am currently sanding is almost identical to the dresser that you painted in that color😂🥳! Now, I’m binge watching all of your videos! Wish I would’ve found you sooner!🙃

    Stunning! Is their clear coat non yellowing? Just bought country chic “paint the town” for my bench in the hallway. Looking forward to using it for the first time.

      I don’t have a lot of experience with their topcoat as this was the first time using. It doesn’t say so on the packaging, but if your topcoat it whites - use a stain blocker primer to help alleviate that. I always do a test section first to see. I also mix in a little paint with the topcoat and that works like a charm.

    What are your thoughts on country chic vs fusion mineral paint?

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  3 роки тому

      Two different paints. Country Chic is chalk/clay based paint that should be topcoated. Fusion is a acrylic mineral paint stands on its own with a 100% acrylic resin topcoat built in. They both have great coverage. Fusion is a thinner consistency paint whereas Country Chic is is a little thicker being clay based. CC comes in 3 different sizes (tester, pint and quart) Fusion has tester and pint only.

    Hi. What size of needle do you use on your E 5500 pour the paint? 2.0mm? 1.5mm? Thank you

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  3 роки тому +1

      I use the standard tip 2.0mm - It works perfectly. It has a lot to do with thinning the paint right and have your spray nozzle adjusted right!. No need to switch out the needles
