I don’t like my job, I don’t like working for other people, I want to be my own boss. So I stay there and endure because it’s motivation for me to get my ish together so I never ever ever have to seek approval to take a vacation again.
If you have an idea of what you want to do as a side gig, you should just start as soon as possible. Start developing it after work, maybe just 1 hr a day? I have a side gig and after 2-3 years it started matching my salary income. 4th year now it is double my salary income but I'm still doing both. The best part? I don't take anything attitude from my boss and I put him in his place when he needs to be checked. Keep in mind, I'm also working 12-14 hrs a day 7 days a week. It isn't easy but it's worth it.
Good mentality Morgan! I think everyone has had at least one job like that. Soul searching really helped me understand what I want in a role and working environment. I hope you can found out soon!

Hating my job makes me hate my life in general
Don't understand the people who call Dave with questions about should I keep my job or general marriage questions. Those are not exactly his expertise.
You noticed that too? Here is my conjecture. She was actually calling Dave for marriage advise. She wants to be closer to her boyfriend who has his own business and she wants him to propose to her soon. Her job has nothing to do with why she called.
Why is she making a decision based on her boyfriend? Until you have that ring on your finger, you're single.

Been 2 months unemployed. Please don't quit unless you have a new job secured!
Oh, no! Is this one of those mid-level marketing (MLM) schemes? Why would you use Dave’s channel to promote any business?
I agree. There are days that I hate my job but I know that I can't quit without a back up plan. I do write in my spare time and I am hoping to be published by next year so hopefully that will take off.

Sorry
Moving cross-country without a job lined up made me go into a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. LISTEN TO MIGUEL & ME always have a job lined up! Miguel I hope you find a job soon brother, I was unemployed for 11 months it was scary, almost wound up homeless with no family or friends around me. Good luck Miguel!
In my youth 20-30s, I hated all of my jobs. In hindsight, it wasn't the jobs, it was me because when your young you hate repetition, company rules... so, on...
The thing I hate about jobs is exactly that. It grinds you down to a state where you’re no longer looking to be a creator, but to maximize your output to effort ratio.
On that front, it might make sense in the future to offer more equity-heavy compensation packages to employees. Right now, do the bare minimum for a 2% raise, do amazing for a 4% raise isn’t going to cut it
@@hornetguy9063 But that requires upper management to be inline with what YOU want. Their agendas are to run the business into the ground and get the cream and leave.
wewhoareabouttodie saluteyou that makes no sense though. If upper management has equity in the company, they don’t want to run it into the ground. And it’s good for them to have significant equity, because without it, they will use the company as their own cash cow until it’s bled dry
@Stand4 Freedom ... Curious, what changed?
Dave just totally blew up the Long Beach boyfriend's weekend hook up with the marriage pep talk.
Don't quit your job until you lock in a new one.
Especially now.
OMG quit rushing young people into marriage and please get out of the 1950's. They need to get some time and careers under their belt before jumping into marriage. She said in the FUTURE they want to start a family but they need to let the relationship grow and make sure they want to be married for the rest of their lives first so for pete's sake quit rushing people into marriage since we all know that getting married doesn't solve problems that already exist.

@Amman K public accounting is rough. Long hours, deadlines, and stress. Still, it's excellent experience for just about any field if you can handle it for 3 years or so. I wouldn't make a career out of it though. Corporate accounting is probably better. That said, think about a government position with the IRS, FBI etc.
You're debt free. Once your emergency fund is set, spend 12-24 months saving and planning to start your own business. Sales skills are invaluable and you don't need a degree to be your own boss.

Your first line manager can turn a job you love into a job you hate. Happened to me several years back, the company reshuffled the department and I wound up reporting to a space cadet. The next few months were a struggle, to say the least.
I hated working retail, people can be incredibly rude, even pick on you, at your job just because they can. I will NEVER do retail again.
The boyfriends call: Dave, my girlfriend wants to get married and be a SAHM, but I don’t see it. She wants to quit he job and live off me, and that’s not what I want. How can I tell her that it’s over?
That’s just sales, I’ve been working in collections 😭, the calls and environment is toxic... but no luck with other jobs yet.
I used to work in collections, one of the worst jobs I’ve even had. Getting death threats constantly, and yelled at by managers. I hope you find a new job, the best day was handing over my badge and walking out.
Yeah can’t imagine that would be a pleasant job
I hated my job too until I lost it...
I could be wrong but it sounds like she wants to give up everything for her boyfriend. She said she loves the company she is in and makes good money. Do you know how many people would love to have a position like that? Girl, don't give up your life before this man has proposed. You are dreaming of the future and this man has not committed yet. It seems clear you are ready to be a stay at home mom but until your boyfriend commits and actually signs up for that life, I would not give up your life. Especially because you have no idea what you want to do outside of wanting to be a wife and have children. He has not agreed to that yet.
I’m not trying to be a millionaire, I’m trying to replace my work income with stock investing returns, I plan to save my way to a portfolio of $100,000 and plan to make 45%/year which is 3.75%/month which I feel is conservative as I’m currently averaging around 6%/month 3.75%/month off of $100,000 is $3,750 pre tax income on (AVERAGE)

I love doing hair but building a clientele sucks. I have to pay for advertisement, invest for further education, waste money on products while looking for models, deal with difficult clients, sitting around waiting for them, etc. and also it’s a physically taxing job. 9 years later, pandemic hit and was seriously affected. Lost half of the clientele I’ve worked hard for and God knows when this is gonna get better. And day by day I’m losing that passion of doing hair and doing it all over again. Is it worth it? Yes, if you think, breathe and live for hair. But with tons of time sitting around and meditating and praying during lockdown, I have been intuitively guided to do nutrition and health coaching.
I have a few family members who are hair stylist. To me it seems like a great side (or second) job, but a hard way to make a living. Maybe you can do hair while getting you nutrition certification, and do hair on the side afterwards for extra cash. During this pandemic, you realize how important hair stylists and barbers are so you may not want to completely walk away from it!!
@@josephh5085 I don’t think I would walk out of doing hair entirely, maybe keeping it as a side job since I love some of the clients, but having a full time stylist job? Nope. I like doing different things as well! It’s the only thing that keeps me sane!
@@LoudnessInc7 how are you going about nutrition coaching?
Good luck to you
I always wanted to learn to cut hair. There’s something very therapeutic about it. I think people are coloring at home because it’s outrageously expensive. I choose salons from their websites. I tend to go to ones that have prices shown and examples of their work, introduction of their stylists and their professional experience. Specials draw new customers in and good haircuts keep them coming back.
