They're hoping you get off the ship there, and trust me... it takes a while to get back to the ship, so it'll turn into a day where Carnival profits from the time you didn't use your drink package. It's one gimmick after another on Carnival and RC, all day every day of the cruise. You pay an INSANE, and I do mean INSANE price for # days of a drink package but on day 1 it's not available, and the last day, well you're getting off the ship that early morning. If you forgive companies after they screw you over, you will have NO problem cruising.
we love RCL but we don't always have the budget for RCL. We also like Carnival. There are some pro's and con's to both lines, just as in there are pro's and con's listed here. We have been Perfect day 3 times and loved it. We are going to Half-moon in November and certainly will be comparing them. The paying for umbrellas and drink package will certainly be a point against, however I have noticed cabanas are like more then half the cost, I may even get one!
When will the new Carnival private island be ready for guests? While I've cruised on both cruiselines, it is more advantageous to be able to use your drink package on the island. This is were Royal Caribbean gets my vote.
Before the renovation, cococay was not all that good. So many jelly fish in the water and just not much to do. Haven’t been to the perfect day one yet.
Neither. This trend of developing private islands to keep passengers throwing money at the cruiseline instead of the foreign country itself is one reason I boycott those cruises now. The Bahamas is fighting back by charging 10% on goods and services provided to those islands starting in March, I think. Think about it... you're on a cruise.. you want to visit the BAHAMAS as it is, not what Carnival or RC built out in the water to take you away from the Bahamas culture and inland shopping. It's sickening. Greed is the VERY reason the cruise fares and fees keep going up and up by the month because there's a battle between the cruiseline and the countries they're parking their massive ships while trying to avoid the country itself against the will of most of the passengers. I don't cruise so Carnival can drop me off on a fake island. Even Costa Maya they keep you contained in this little fenced in port area of fake culture of retailers, a swimming pool, and a bunch of nonsense. I want to get off the ship and not have a 20-foot leash on me, or give me my port fees back. Nassau has it right. You can get off and walk around and shop or take a private cab if you want to. I remember paying bogus Belize fees twice now while being shuttled from the ship to a tender boat to a private island, and never stepped foot inland Belize. Carnival and RC both are robbing us every way they can imagine up.
I would love to visit Half Moon Cay.
Still can't believe Carnival gets away with not allowing the drink package on the island. Nothing screams ripoff more than that
very true! ( I guess you have to get "drunk" before you get off the boat) lol!
True dat

Just came back from a week XMAS Cruise with HAL and all I can say is that HALF MOON CAY is PARADISE!
I’m gonna say both!
What about "Celebration Key" (?)
Está bueno para mmm
How about both? (variety is the spice of life)!
Carnival has Celebration Key now
I try to skip itineraries that include either.
This is not a fair comparison. Wait until carnival build their new island.
This is a royal caribbean channel. Any comparison videos you see here will always shine a good light on RC
@@travel.life.dreamsWe cover all cruise lines, not just Royal Caribbean.

NICE!
GREAT INFO!
Can't believe you have to pay for drinks and use a tender for Half Moon Cay...

RC spent $250 million on the renovation, not $25 million.
Obviously For Now lol 😅
