I've been there twice-and will be there again in January-I always get a cabana. It's about $200. You get on the first tender of the day, it comes with drinks, snacks, floating mats and snorkels. The inside is air conditioned. At lunchtime we fill our plates and eat at the table inside, nice and cool, no flies. Totally worth 200 bucks. The sanctuary part is just a no kid zone, the cabanas are all the same.

This video just came up....I was on that cruise and first saw you at the bar on Princess Cays where the band was playing. And saw you again later on the cruise. I rented the sailboat and it was $55 for an hour. This was my first cruise and an interesting experience.
I would not be happy that the drink package doesn’t transfer to island. We were just at Perfect Day and it was so convenient getting our drinks.
It's weird that you can't use the drink package on PC on Carnival. You can use the drink package on PC when you're sailing Princess. Obviously all owned by the same corporation, so it's confusing why the difference.
That's not a "fail", that's taking care of yourself. You obviously needed the sleep! That's weird that you can't use your drink package at Princess Cays! Even with the mic problems this was a great vlog- hit all the highlights and gave us a good overview of the day to day vibe on the ship.
Love this 6-12 minute video format! Such a great length and you pack a lot in! And I get you - I've done a lot of those accidental long naps before!
OMG I did the same thing right before my Alaska cruise last month. I didn't sleep for 2 days before my cruise because of all the stress of making sure we had everything set, early flight, bad hotel room the night before the cruise, etc. So after dinner on my first night on the cruise, I crashed (around 7pm) until midnight or so just like you did LOL.
I’m very surprised carnival hasn’t made a pier big enough for their own ships.
If you miss your early dining times on Carnival you can show up at late dining and they will seat you. I’ve done it a couple of times. Last time on the Conquest 3weeks ago.
Half Moon Cay is one of my favorites. Honestly Princess Cays looks like it may need a bit of sprucing up. Buffet could be a little better too.

It honestly looks like they’ve updated princess cay since my last visit and that still doesn’t say much. In 2018, I only remember seeing a few tourist shops off to the side, the cookout/buffet area, and the little “tower” you climb for the view.
I've never had a bad day at Princess Cay. It's very simple compared to something like Perfect day at Coco Cay which is it's own animal, but if you love a beach day like we do, it's perfect. It's very comparable to Half Moon Cay...in fact they're close enough that if another ship is at Half Moon while you're at PC you can see that ship, and vice versa. If you sail to Princess Cay with Princess you can use your drink package on shore. Not sure why it's different for Princess vs Carnival but this difference has existed for many years.
The private island seems pretty good. Lots of different areas to utilize. You could just enjoy the beach 🏖️ and have lunch. I'm not sure if you mentioned any pools ( like they have at CV). The beach looks decent.

Nice video of Princess Cay Island. I'm not a fan of tendering, I get a splitting headache with all that "bobbing around" of the boat waiting for people to board Lol!!

Our last cruise, about 3 weeks ago, the people next door started partying at 2am 5 out of 7 days, VERY LOUDLY! Not much you can do about it unless you call security sadly.
I love half-moon Kay we got a cabana and it was well worth it the drinks and service was great you get your own waiter to get you what ever you want no need to get up for drinks.

We're booked for Jan ..been to princess cay..& prob won't get off this time..not much there, & on Aug cruise they ran out of food on isl ,lines to get tender were awful & rocks in water everywhere!
The carnival " tall drink" is a rip off 6 oz drink w 2 cups of ice..just get a reg drink on isl for $10 vs $20.

Princess card, I've heard, work on Princess Cay, for Half Moon Cay I heard Hollands card works. The lines don't share islands for that stuff.
I just went here a week ago with princess and the drink package was included on the island. I wonder if they changed the policy or it’s just different between lines.

Visited Princess Cays in September, it was just ok. Half Moon Cay is much better.
We'll be here next month on the Carnival Conquest. I see people saying the Princess drink package is accepted on the island but not Carnival's. Carnival owns Princess so it's all basically one company. Why would it be any different?
Princess Cayes is a nice spot, great beach to the right of the harbour. Just be careful with the food. We were there in September. Got a hamburger, it was raw in the middle, threw it out and ate when we got back in the ship.
The cruise line private islands uses the same food and cooks off the ships,
@@evelynmckenzie5269 it comes from the ship but burgers are not guys and you still need to practice caution as for conditions and last time the burgers were still raw in the midfle

Yep, that’s what I said, so I stayed less than 2 hours. It is, however, a beautiful part of the island. But let’s face it, if you bought the Cheers package, you’re dreaming of sitting on the beach sipping pina coladas and margaritas, and they were more expensive on Princess Cay than on the ship and NOT included in the Cheers package. WTH. I’ll never return to Princess Cay; I’ll just look at it from the ship. And just getting there by tender and the buffet lines - forget about it!😝
Hey, J. It's truly odd that you ended up at Princess Cay (pronounced "key") which is actually Princess's private island, not Carnival's. But inasmuch as Princess is part of CCL corporation, and none of Princess' ships will be back to Florida for Caribbean season until later this month, I guess Carnival occasionally uses it. That area reserved for "The Sanctuary" refers to the daily or half-day passes that Princess passengers can purchase to sit in the adults only, private area of their ships called "The Sanctuary" and they have also set aside an area on Princess Cay. The clamshells, at least on Princess, are actually pretty affordable, renting for $40 for the entire day, which considering 2 people on loungers can comfortably fit it in there (and we've even squeezed in another person or two on towels on the sand), is not a bad deal. I personally usually just wait until someone with one near me gets ready to leave and offers me theirs for free. Happens all the time. LOL. BTW, those Carnival buffets, both on the Cay and on the ship, looked disgusting -- true slop. Princess's buffet on the island is definitely better -- with a huge table of fresh tropical and other fruits.
I believe Princess cruises are under the Carnival umbrella just as Holland America is.
Personally, I thought Princess Cay was a disappointment because I had the Cheers package and found out that the Cheers package was NOT applicable. That sucked,

It depends how much you can spend, but the balconies are so much better than the inside cabins, particularly if you are sailing on the tropics.

As far as children running amok and knocking on doors, that is unacceptable for that time of the night, never mind at all! Why can Carnival not look at the footage for that particular incident and charge them with a hefty fine. Unacceptable that Carnival does not take control of these kinda situations.

How does a company spend millions making their own island , to not fit their boats lol. That’s like building your dream house without doors or windows. Can’t use it but boy it looks good.
I sailed on RCCL way back in 2005, and when we stopped at Coco Cay, long before it was refurbished to Perfect Day at Coco Cay, we had to take tenders too as there was no dock for the ships. Guessing that Carnival's private island is in need of refurbishment too.
