- From the time women go through puberty, our hormones rule our lives. We struggle with a lot of overwhelming feelings, emotionally and physically. And those hormones never quit. When we hit our late 40s or early 50s, menopause begins and usually lasts for a few years. During that time, women experience a natural decline in estrogen, which decreases muscle mass and strength. But I have good news: there are things you can do to help maintain your muscle, which will help reduce menopausal symptoms! my wife did a crazy high sodium fast with Potassium and it tasted like lemon salt water(lemon flavor) it made here week.
So I'm getting back into smoothies and I want to make here nice balanced smoothie to keep here going to lunch.

Perimenopause starts in the 40s.
In perimenopause you still have your cycle.
Random question for you, Lacey! Does Teeccino break a fast? It's herbal "coffee".
You just have be careful consuming soy if you have a thyroid disorder because soy can severely increase your thyroid levels.

Menopause is technically when menstruation has stopped for 1 year. So what do you mean when you say we go through menopause for several years? Are you talking about perimenopause? Or do you mean all the years with symptoms? It would help to clarify.
Apologies that wasn't clear enough - I do mean to include the peri- and post- aspects of the process as well, and I was combining them all into the term "menopause," which I see was confusing now. I hope that makes sense!
I’m having a very hard time finding good info on how much protein I need as a post menopausal woman. Do you know where I can calculate this? Online calculators don’t consider hormones. Thank you
