    Good job kid, very nice info and straight to the point. As long as you get the dedicated GPU on any 2013(LATE not Early), 2014, 2015 you are good. Intel Iris Pro is good, but definitely won't get you over the hump.

    2015 would be the best one for now if you really want to have updates for the next 5 years but the best bang for the buck would be the 2014 imo. I’m not sure why but in Germany the 2013 model has the same price in the used market like the 2014 and sometimes even higher for some reason?

      Late 2013 should be supported as long as 2015. 2013, 2014, 2015 all have similar CPU. Main difference is GPU and SSD is x2 vs x4. I think 2015 is best as you said since it also has the faster GPU, but if that doesn't matter then late 2013 or 2014 model is fine. 2015 has battery recall right now.

    • @cs.studios
      @cs.studios  5 років тому +1

      Want to explain why it's manipulative? The render took seconds but the 2018 was 16% faster. Now imagine I used a more complex track that took the 2018 5 minutes to complete, the 2013 would take 6 minutes if scaled the same way. The longer the render time, the more apparent the difference would be. Since this was my first time working with these graphs I went with these, but scaling should be a bit more apparent next time around.

    • @benkarstenjones
      @benkarstenjones 5 років тому +3

      @@cs.studios My complaint is only with the scale of the graphs which you seem to recognize is the issue. The scale for the graph makes no sense for comparing the two values. The percent difference may be 16 percent but the graph scale visually implies that the 2018 is 4x the speed. It is much more accurate to have the X axis scale starting from zero. Otherwise it is good. I should re-phrase my original comment, the graph was not intentionally manipulative.

      @@cs.studios Good Choice. This shit good to go another 3-4 years. Apple can keep stupid touchbar and crappy keyboard. 2013 has excellent keyboard compare to new models. All we need is work done.

    Stick with the older Macbook pro.
    Max out the ram to 16 gb, switch your hard disk to a SSD - Solid State Drive.
    VERY noticeably quicker.
    Your cpu, temp may change but do not be concerned SSD's have different temps
    "Most SSDs are rated for running within a temperature . 32'F to 158'F, 0'C to 70'C." Google's answer on What temperature should a SSD run at on a laptop.
