@@foobarmaximus3506 It's worth what people are prepared to pay for it, in my opinion, 50 to 100+ grand. David Bailey's Factory 1984 rc500 bike must be worth a hell of a lot of money to American collectors just like this one would be for European collectors.
PFT ur out of your mind. I agree with FooBar...seriously doubt its worth anywhere near 6 figures. I doubt even 50K. Really nothing that special about it he won his last 500 cc championship in 1984 so that bike can't even have claim to that title. Even if it did NFW 250K. maybe a few goats but 250K??? PFT!!!
how on earth did you find this treasure btw RIP Andre Malherbe, i just found out this week he died last november 2022, carry on these finds really amazing
I really hope you got some authenticity because I'm almost certain that's not andres but just a replica, it could have been used for training because of the front bracing but he never actually had it on in competitions besides on his #3 plus there's lots of differences, I've only ever seen his rc500 #3 with a front mud guard brace and usually #1 and #3 have bare forks with no dust guard/boots while #2 had the blue boots on the forks.
@@davekingvmxdn can you add a link to the final round or the whole comp as i can only find snippets of 1985 switzerland and all of them his riding #3 but in 1986 austrian you see him on #1 with front mud guard bracing but thats a different bike isnt it.
Who's ever it was doesn't really matter because its definitely a factory bike and not a replica so it had to be someone's. no production cr 500 had a cylinder with a squared-off look at the top with divots that go in and a huge expansion chamber and a huge cylinder head like that. Stock cylinders apart from the bottom part are nothing like that and the heads are a lot smaller, plus where would you get that tank and the swing arm. that bikes 100% factory its identical to Dave thorpes actual factory bike that was on MotoHead a couple of years ago.
Don't need rear disc 70% is front brake if you don't know how to use front brake your hella slow rider's? The rear drum works perfectly with front disc?
Yeah ok fella there's loads of factory RC 500's doing the rounds , bet you've got 3 in your garden shed haven't you , you're talking a load of old bollocks .
Are you sure that's andres bike,Thorpe was the only hrc rider to have a front mudgaurd brace,Andre and Eric didn't have this on theres.still a beautiful bike..
a bloody spaceship it was for sure at the time what a dream machine and i for sure have seen this in Holland GP Markelo or Lichtenvoorde mid eighties

It’s a real rare piece, but quarter million is crazy, just like these Nike shoe collections, one idiot stiffing the next.
Excuse me it’s like a painting from Vincent van goch . Why do poeple pay 2 million for a painting. ??? Same with these bikes it’s like art
Definitely confused as I couldn’t see the rear disk (2.05)
only a rear drum brake🧐
nice find team.
Incrível. Parabéns
Museium work of art.
Could you please do a video on the journey of this bike from the end of 85 to you taking it to foxhills 😊
Absolutely yes
Wow 😎👌

He probably paid way too much money for it so now will have to justify it somehow. Really not all that special.
How in the world do people actually get their hands on these, I know the world champ keeps his, how did it get from Malherbe to this chap, ?

If you get more than $5,000 for this bike let me know. Because I know where one is right now less than 20 miles from where I am. Right now.
Buy it and call me. I will double your money if it’s the same bike
Serious offer
How much did it cost to purchase?

Andre had a front brace on his #3 HRC not #1 or #2 so i think this man got possibly scammed which is sad to think about.
Andre ran that brace in the final round of 85 in Switzerland
