🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 🧬 *Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, crucial for hair, skin, and nails composition, but consuming collagen itself doesn't directly impact longevity.*
01:52 🍲 *Traditional sources of collagen in diets were animal gristle, tendons, and connective tissues, often consumed through dishes like consommé and even Jell-O.*
03:18 🚫 *Whole collagen doesn't get absorbed through the gut; it needs to be broken down into amino acids. Collagen in bone broth or supplements doesn't automatically rebuild collagen in the body.*
04:49 🌱 *Like cows, humans can get collagen precursors (proline, lysine, glycine) from plants. Root vegetables, beets, leaks, Parmesan cheese, A2 milk, aged cheeses, avocados, nuts, and supplements are good sources.*
06:43 🔄 *Collagen synthesis requires vitamin C, acting like rebar in building structures. Since humans don't produce vitamin C, it must be obtained through supplements or timed-release formulas to support collagen knitting and repair.*
09:06 ☀️ *For vibrant hair, skin, and nails, focus on a diet rich in collagen precursors, vitamin C, and polyphenols. Consider alternatives to traditional sunscreens, like polyphenol-rich foods and Fernblock supplements.*
10:56 💅 *Silica supplements (from horsetail, bamboo) and biotin contribute to nail health. Be cautious with biotin supplements before blood draws. Costco offers an affordable and effective hair, skin, and nail supplement.*

I don't think collagen is not related to longevity. I believe that this connection is quite strong. I read an article in New Scientist on how to rejuvenate our immune system. This article described how neutrophils react to a problem. Normally, neutrophils circulate through our blood vessels, and if a cell sends the appropriate signal and the neutrophil picks it up, it passes through the blood vessel wall (not the cell, but the extracellular matrix) towards the problem (and again uses the extracellular matrix to do so). By passing to the target, neutrophil also causes some damage that triggers inflammation. And normally, as the immune system ages, the patency of the extracellular matrix deteriorates and neutrophil does not go directly to the target, as in the younger immune system. And so finding the problem causes more of this secondary inflammation. The extracellular matrix is mainly made up of collagen. And the state of the extracellular matrix is related to age (obstruction, oxidation) and therefore to longevity.
The article also gave tips on how to rejuvenate the immune system, and one of these tips was the administration of vitamin E. But you clarified it in another of your contributions. Vitamin E is related to getting enough vitamin C. You have stated that with higher amounts of vitamin E, this vitamin becomes pro-oxidant, but if it is supplied with sufficient amounts of vitamin C, its higher levels remain antioxidant. And that's important.
And vitamin C is also really important for the immune system as such, because vitamin C is said to enter the cell through the same receptors (GLUT-1) as glucose. However, glucose has a stronger affinity (it forces preference over vitamin C). So if we eat carbohydrates that raise glucose levels and we don't have these receptors in vitamin C, it also weakens the immune system. I believe that it is therefore important to eat enough vitamin C before eating carbohydrates. And also not to eat carbohydrates that get into the blood too easily and quickly if we eat them together with vitamin C. But when glucose is not used inside the cell, it is stored elsewhere in the body in fat, and this is not better, rather worse.

I come home and rinse them with my Filtered Tap water, dry them, wrap a paper towel around them, put them back into the bag, then roll it tight to squeeze out as much air as possible, wrap a rubber band around them and then put them in the Frig. Now, I have a variety of veggies to choose from for my morning breakfast Collagen Rich Soup and my evening Pressurized Veggies with Clean Meat.
I realize the variety of GOD's Foods is where you can get all your nutrients for the day, you just HAVE to make time for cooking your own GOOD meals.

I think it’s really good for skin and bones, joints etc. but i never had any problem with these anyway because was always a healthy eater, i just eat even healthier now because i am older and don’t like doctors or medications so staying healthy is of importance. Love root vegetables mostly and they make such a great soup. Celery root is my favorite it gives the soup such an amazing flavor. 😊

@@presence5426 Lots of veggies and beans in the soup. Then during the day I blend up some different fruit and sip on that, as I work. I take a big sip and swish it in my mouth to allow my Saliva to start the process of breaking it down and getting all the goodies.
I just focus on GOD's foods that I can prepare in my kitchen. I use over 40 different spices in the soup, as I take each Organic Spice (1/4 teaspoon each,) then mix them together, put them in a glass jar and add 1 teaspoon to the soup. I use a lot of Organic Butter, Organic Beef Tallow and the drippings from my Organic Baked Whole Chicken to make gravy with Organic Heavy Cream. The main thing I focus on is creating my homemade meals and I love doing this, as my body feels great. Clean water is crucial too, as my body does not become like a filter and is over burdened getting out the toxic sheese they put in the tap water. Tap water is HORRIBLE!
I distill my water, add 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of: Redmond Salt and Concentrace Trace Minerals. This water mix healed my lower back pains in two weeks. Have not had any pains now going four hears now.
      I hope that help you!

The difference is that marine collagen (hydrolyzed fish skin) may have a slightly different amino acid profile. @@martyrichard3092 Respecting animals is good. Adhering to a plant-based/vegan diet is admirable. However, there are several nutrients that are only found in animal foods. You may not want them now. But chronic disease progresses slowly, and if we want to manage our long-term risks optimally, certain animal foods can be helpful. For vegans, there are sometimes workarounds. Here's an idea: it's probably impossible to get the bioactive peptides found in collagen supplements from the plant kingdom. But these peptides can be made in a lab, using amino acids from vegetable sources. There's not a lot of research at present, but stay tuned. Supplemental glycine from a plant source is another great option. Tastes sweet & has good research behind it!

    • @martyrichard3092
      @martyrichard3092 Рік тому

@@presence5426 Basically, what you're saying is there is nothing substantial or necessary that we cannot get from plant-based foods. Millions of doctors, long-time vegans and studies demonstrate this is true. Please lose the hypotheticals. One can blame illnesses, deficiencies and other health-related issues on a pb diet. But 99% of the time they are just excuses to appease their desire for eating dead animals. People love excuses to avoid their support of this animal holocaust. Animals are not food, they are friends and are on this planet WITH us, not FOR us.
