@10:20- Just to let you know, Dr. Steve - Gouda is pronounced "How-da" .. which is of course the city in South Holland where this cheese is made. Used to live there ! Don't worry - everyone here in the US gets it wrong ! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays - or, as the Dutch say: "Vrolijk kerstfeest!"
If you live in the north Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas general area, I strongly recommend buying milk from Braum’s. Their entire herd produces A2 milk AND it’s not at a ridiculous price of grocery store A2 milk.
That's fantastic information on the types of cheeses that are good for the gut buddies. I do love goat cheese. I went to buy some Parmesano Reggiano from Italy and you are right. It is very expensive. As far as I can see unfortunately all cheeses in the markets are wrapped in plastic. I have to decide whether the benefits outweigh the cost or is it just splurging. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
You're absolutely right! Goat cheese is delicious and a great choice for gut health. Parmigiano Reggiano is pricey, but its quality and health benefits often justify the splurge if it fits your budget. The plastic packaging is a challenge-maybe consider transferring it to eco-friendly containers at home. Thank you for your thoughtful comment!
I am so thrilled to hear this, since I am producing goat milk cheese, yogurt and kefir. What I need to do now is up my line with aged cheese. My cheese tastes so good fresh, and aging is another step, time consuming and a new learning curve to master. This video has inspired me to get to work on this!!!
That's amazing! It sounds like you're already doing fantastic work with your fresh products. Aged cheese is definitely a rewarding next step-challenging but so worth it! Best of luck on this exciting journey, and I can't wait to hear about your success!
Do you have a website to sell any at this point? Let us know when you do! Key for me is to ensure goats do not get in contact with any glyphosate, etc.
Yes!! It has long been one of my pet peeves that what the fast-food chains serve is a cheese food product. It says so right on the label of the wrapper of the long blocks the slices come in. So when they ask me if I want cheese on that, my response is usually something like "I would, if you had any, but you don't". So it was good to hear you say it is not cheese. I like to tell people it bears roughly the same relationship to cheese that paper bears to wood. I grew up thinking I did not like cheese because my working single mom needed the convenience and affordability of Kraft slices, which I found to taste kind of plastic-ish.
You're absolutely right! Many processed cheese products are far removed from real cheese, and it can be surprising for people to realize that. Your analogy to paper and wood is spot on-it really drives the point home. It's great that you’ve come to appreciate the difference now, though, and I hope you’ve found some real cheeses you enjoy!
high cholesterol runs in my family, i consistently test over 230, but had have a cac scan score of ZERO ! i do eat mostly plant based diet and minimize processed, sugary, chemical laden foods
These six incredible cheeses sound delicious and it's amazing to learn they come with health benefits too-thanks, Dr. Gundry, for sharing this insight!
I get cheeses from Trader Joe's that are from Switzerland (Product of Switzerland), Raw, Grass Fed and Cave Aged 6-12 months. Recently got some Le Gruyere and Swiss Cheddar. The Le Gruyere is not wrapped in plastic. It's some other packaging. DO NOT BUY "Swiss Style" or "Italian Style" Cheese like what a shelf stocker in the cheese section tried to get me to buy. I told her I wanted something that was from Switzerland or Italy. This just happened about 3 weeks ago. Edit: Forgot Emmental from Switzerland too!!
@ They do have the other cheeses I mentioned. You have to sort through all the American knockoffs “Styles” to find the real thing. Those people stocking the shelves think they can say anything to a customer and we won’t know they don’t have a clue!
@ Far Far Far more responsible than Whole Foods. They are just price gauging for no reason. Prime used to be $9.99; I will not pay nearly double that! Bezos doesn’t need the money. Wait until more supply chain issues and tariffs kick in!
Sounds like you're very particular about quality cheese-rightfully so! Authentic Swiss cheeses like Le Gruyère and Emmental are hard to beat, especially when they're raw, grass-fed, and cave-aged. Thanks for the tip on avoiding 'style' labels; always good to double-check the origin for the real deal!
Loved the video Dr..G! Thanks to you I’ve added these marvelous cheeses to my diet! I’ve been curious about Ghee, will any organic Ghee be ok or are there more details to look for on the label?
How healthy are U.S. goat and sheep cheeses? I know they are A2, but are there other reasons to look to Europe for goat and sheep cheese? I’m thinking interns if the agents used in the process of making the cheese.

Eat healthy, exercise, take vitamin tabs, eat fermented cabbage such as Sauerkraut & kimchi, take one spoon of extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar, drink matcha green tea & kefir yogurt drink, and sleep well. That's what I've done and just celebrated my 65th birthday lately. 😊

I thought the reason cheese has no lactose was that all the lactose ends up in the whey. But you're saying there is some lactose in the curd and it's digested by the cheese making bacteria?
i disagree with what's been said at minute sixth. just because the maphya from that area says so doesn't mean that the same type of cheese made somewhere else is not same as good.

Good Info.
Doc Gundry,
Yesterday, I was at my local COSTCO looking at cheese. I didn't buy any because I wondered; which cheeses would Dr Gundry recommend?!
I once ate cheese only for entire month. I felt super energetic
Yes!! Raw dairy was requested by my lactose intolerant friend. She downed a quart of raw heavy cream in a couple days. NO issues. 😮😊

Someone list the 6 cheeses to save time
Whenever I visit Switzerland or Austria or Italy I knew that I could buy any random cheese from the supermarket and enjoy it without health concerns.
Do you think FATTY 15 (c15) the Odd chained saturated fat is a strong benefit? Pecorino is supposed to have a lot of c15
Thank you for the informative video, i wish there was info in a2 cheese produced and sold by local US farms, i will Google
RAW . Tomo Piedmontese, an Italian fav. ALWAYS Raw. 😊

Does anyone know whether heavy cream from Casein A1 cows contain that A1 molecule? Do we need to look for A2 heavy cream or no.
Cream doesnt really have any protein (cassein), so I dont think it matters.
I love Manchego but I prefer it at 3 months. The six months is hard and dry.
Never read any of that stuff and I'm 75 and healthy
