G'day Bill, Thanks mate, im glad you enjoyed the video. Great trip across stunning country. Far out, that would be a great old memory of the Ol EH on the bridge at Pineapple Flat. What year was that photo taken? Cheers Tim.
@@timbates4wdadventures He used to turn over his cars every year or so. So by that, I'm dating the photograph at Christmas holidays 1964/65. The bridge obviously washed away in the years subsequent - we were there for a year or two following and it was still there then. I'm surmising, it washed away sometime after 1966. A classic photograph though - both of the car and the (very solid) rough cut timber bridge.
Hi Tim, any chance of a playlist of beginner tracks as I will be going solo in a 95 hilux single cab with very little experience, and would like to spend at least a month in the hi country exploring as much as possible.
Hey Tim, just discovered your content and loving it. Thinking about heading up this way in a stock prado 120, and a mates stock Pajero. Do you think we would be able to manage the track from pineapple flats to lake cobbler?
Thanks mate for checking out my videos. I hope you enjoy the others. It’s a pretty easy drive from Pineapple to Lake Cobbler. Just be careful if it rains. You’ve got 5-6 crossings of the King River. Have a good trip mate. Cheers Tim
Gday mate, The stair case has gone. It was bulldozed flat during the 2006-7 bushfires so fire trucks could get up easy. Still great country to drive around. Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
Was up at craigs hut on Saturday. I’ve got some advice for newbys.... slow down. The amount of people speeding on the circuit was terrible. We came across one arse hat that locked it up. 20 metre skid marks and he was nearly of the side.... we even had 1 bloke come close to hitting me with his bull bar in the car park at the Mansfield servo.... absolute disgrace. It was still a awesome day up there.
Yeah mate I’m hearing ya. Unfortunately there are plenty of halfwits scooting around the bush in their 4wds with no idea. Some of them not only are an accident waiting to happen but need a good kick up the arse when it comes to taking their rubbish out with them.
G'day Mark, Thats not great at all mate. Far too many people experiencing close calls with on coming 4wd's on the tracks. People need to slow down and enjoy the trip a lot more. Glad to hear that you still had a top day mate. Safe travels. Cheers Tim.
Yeh mate, both what you mention isn't great times. Damn scary when i 4wd is coming around a corner on your side of the road. Take care mate. Cheers Tim.
Problem is . There’s this new culture in Australia now . All the cashed up dickheads rush out and buy the latest 4x4 then drop the same amount modding it . Throw a cowboy hat on a blue singlet and all of a sudden they think they own the tracks and Effin know it all . Their pretty easy to spot
All in all it was busy up their and it was only that handful that wreck it but most people were doing the right and safe thing. We met some really nice people and gave directions to a few guys that weren’t sure which way to go and that’s great... we are all doing what we love and that’s the main thing. If the guys at bindaree falls that asked which way to Craig’s hut are on here... I hope you got there. I didn’t get you lost I hope.
Hey Tim I love following your vids as it’s not always about tackling the hardest track but just exploring the high country. I solo camp most of the the time so try not to tackle the really hard tracks. What track did you take from cobblers hut to Craig’s hut?
G'day Gary, Thanks mate. I do like the touring style of travel. Covering a lot of country and seeing as much as you can. Harder tracks are a lot of fun, but i need my Patrol on the road every day and not going home on the back of a truck and spending weeks in a work shop getting fixed. Im with you, it's not about the hardest tracks, its about seeing as much of the area you're in. We went down to King Hut, Speculation Rd then up Monument Tk to Craigs Hut. All easy going. Thanks mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim.

We have a dog and are wondering if there are campsites on the way to King Hut on the King River that aren't in the Alpine National Park, so that we can take our dog? You may have stopped for lunch at one of those spots but we aren't sure.
Gday Rodney, Thanks mate for your feedback on my videos. Along the King River between Pineapple Flat and King Hut is difficult for taking dogs. That track crosses the river half a dozen times and depends which side of the river you’re on, depends if you’re in National Park or not. King Hut is National Park. Hope that helps a bit mate with taking your dog into that area. Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.

What year was that photo taken?

@@timbates4wdadventures He used to turn over his cars every year or so. So by that, I'm dating the photograph at Christmas holidays 1964/65.
The bridge obviously washed away in the years subsequent - we were there for a year or two following and it was still there then. I'm surmising, it washed away sometime after 1966.
A classic photograph though - both of the car and the (very solid) rough cut timber bridge.

G'day Mark,
Thats not great at all mate. Far too many people experiencing close calls with on coming 4wd's on the tracks. People need to slow down and enjoy the trip a lot more.

Yeh mate, both what you mention isn't great times.
Damn scary when i 4wd is coming around a corner on your side of the road.
