This was Whitney at her peak in my opinion. And I remember Kevin Costner being absolutely heartbroken when she passed. He was asked to eulogize her; he did and it was really touching.
Whitney had such incredible talent. She was a gift to the world. My heart still breaks whenever I hear her now. It is a huge tragedy that drugs took her, and many others. Please please people. Don't do drugs of any kind - ever.
Shes called " the Voice," for a reason. The industry destroyed her, then took her life. We will uphold her legacy. She didn't deserve to die and many of us miss her. Whitney was a very classy and seemed very down to earth.
I'll cry with you young man. Her beauty and talent were beyond compare and I watched her deteriorate through terrible drug abuse and finally lose her life while still in the thralls of this entrapment. Absolutely heartbreaking. And if you can't cry about this, you can't cry about anything.
Man Whitney had a voice like NOOO other, i mean WOW, I really appreciate her sharing her talent with the world!! I won't talk about or judge her on her personal life because its none of my business, just the talent she shared with the world!!!! RIP!!! If you see Prince up there tell him we miss his enormous talents as well!!!❤
This is how I like to remember her. A beautiful, chic and wholesome role model, and the most incredible voice to ever grace a performance. That is who she was at her core. Truly a gift from God. R.I.P. beautiful Whitney.
She makes you feel that she sings a song especially for you. What a talent and beauty she was. The 1993 Billboard Awards live version tops the studio version.
Every time someone does really good with the National Anthem I’m like damn did she out do Whitney ?? Then I go listen to Whitney sing and I’m like , “ ah no not even close , my bad “ Whitney is the greatest voice of my lifetime RiP Whitney .. If you ever get a chance not even a reaction video check out Whitney singing “ didn’t we almost have it all “ accapella in a park in NYC .. she was truly a gift
If you can get through the video of her performing the National Anthem at SuperBowl XXV without shedding a tear, you may not be human. For me, that is hands down the best public performance of the National Anthem anywhere, ever. She set the bar. Chris Stapleton - amazing rendition, Pentatonix recent rendition on Christmas Day NFL game - spectacular. Both a distant second to Whitney's at SuperBowl XXV.
Whitney was one of the best voices in history. She was so talented and here we are decades later and she still brings me to tears and gives me goosebumps.
She was an absolutely amazing singer. David Phelps did a version of this song that is so good. Whitney Houston said that David was her favorite tenor ever. Not taking anything away from Whitney. She sure could sing. Beautiful voice.
She was stunningly beautiful and a voice unsurpassed by any. My all time favorite female singer, words can't express how much I loved her voice. Gone much to soon, truly miss her.
One of the greatest voices of her generation. And one of the biggest losses. So beautiful, so brilliantly talented, so much to live for...too sad to comprehend. RIP.
Whitney in my opinion was the best singer I have ever heard. She could sing all 88 keys on the piano effortlessly. She had a record 7 straight #1 billboard music charting songs in a row.
Whitney Houston is my favorite female vocalist of all time. It absolutely broke my heart when she passed. Kevin Costner is my absolute favorite actor of all time so the movie The Bodyguard is naturally one of my favorite movies. If you haven't seen it you should give it a watch, it's worth your time.
Awesome timeless song by the incredible Whitney Houston! I'm not a Kevin Costner fan but her singing in The BodyGuard is deemed top notch in the history of movies! thanks for sharing Black Pegasus :)
It ( I Will Always Love You) was not just Dolly's version, she wrote it backstage of The Porter Wagoner Show, then walked out and sang it to him as her way of saying ," Goodbye " . She was leaving their very successful variety show to go solo. It was Kevin Coster that intoduced Whitney to the song and suggested she sing it. Legends...❤
@diorrboyyyy We know that. I Will Always Love You , is the song he said he knew from Whitney and never knew until recently about " Dolly's version". I guess for people who didn't hear him say that I should add the title but if he read this he knows what he said. Thank you 🌹
There are so many beautiful talented female voices but I have to say Whitney really has a voice above everyone else. She has such control, range and power and she makes it look effortless as she does it. I do think she is the one everyone else should be compared to.
She is my generation. The devastation we felt when she died is incomparable. I cry now every time I hear her sing. The only one who hit me as hard was Prince. Just imagine the music the world is missing out on because they both died so early.
Omg I just saw a performance of her yesterday that I had never seen before of Whitney singing I Will Always Love You, she was wearing a long white gown and she looked so beautiful like an angel. RIP Whitney 😭
Please please please watch Kevin Costner speaking the eulogy at Whitney’s funeral, stunning! Not a lot of people know his childhood relationship with her and how hard he fought to get her the part in the film, it’s a tear jerker , funny and loving
She was an amazing talent and absolutely beautiful! Just stunning! I miss her so much. She was one I looked up to when I was growing up and cried when the world lost her.
Amazing movie, it was her debut on the screen, she was very nervous acting but looked like a natural. Whitney is and will always be the most gifted singer of all times!
He saw her in the music video for "You Give Good Love" and was struck by her beauty and elegance. When casting for "The Bodyguard" came up, he knew instantly who he wanted for the role.
Whitney Houston was so very awesome! Her was life was too short. Just a tidbit, Whitney's mom was one of the girls that sang with Elvis. Love your reaction!
Thank you for reacting to this song. I had forgotten what a treasure we lost when Whitney Houston passed and now I am inspired to watch The Bodyguard again.
Whitney Houston had & still the best most beautiful voice to ever bless us with allowing us to witness such a unbelievable voice. Long Live Whitney Houston 💔🙏🕊️
Didn’t We Almost Have It All- Whitney. BP, even though it’s a slower song, Whitney sings all 88 keys on the piano. One over 10 number one songs in the 80s. IMO she is the gold standard for the best voice ever. Great song and love to see you react to it as well as her other bangers! Thanks for this great reaction.
There are very few artists that send me into a sobbing mess of tears but without any hesitation or question.... Whitney is and will always be My Home Girl . Now that's not to say I do not Love me some Vanessa Williams , Mariah Carey , or Diana Ross because they live in my wheel house as well but.... Whitney has her own wing way off to the side in my wheel house . I lost count of how many times I have seen The Bodyguard ....God broke the mold when he made her . Her voice gives chills . Her voice overwhelms me to my core and I know she has this effect on many still to this day. Her passing has had a deep effect on me . I can not imagine what it must be like for those that Really Loved her.... We are Blessed to have ever heard her sing. She was not perfect and did not claim to be but she was REAL and very REAL people are rare ....especially in the industry business she was involved with. Thank you Black Pegasus for your reaction of her today.
Whitney was an amazing singer. So much talent. Addiction is a terrible thing. I hated to see her spiral out of control. So heartbreaking. The whole Bodyguard soundtrack is playlist worthy.
Ooooooh yes!!! One of the best movies ever with Whitney and Kevin Costner. The movie was incredible. And Dolly Parton wrote the song, "I'll Always Love You" to the man who helped her get her start, Porter Waggoner. He had a Country Music show in Nashville at the time, and hired Dolly, giving her her first TV exposure. Dolly is so freaking talented and an excellent songwriter. This whole movie and soundtrack are outstanding. Everything Whitney does is magic. Same with Celine Dion, in my opinion.
The emotion you felt watching the wonderful Whitney is the same way this resonates with all of us who are sad that her life ended too soon, especially the traumas she went through in her short life ❤
More than any another singer of her caliber, she had pure joy coming out through her singing. In this clip as in other videos, it was all over her face while she was singing. The Bodyguard was her first foray into acting and as Kevin Costner mentioned in his remarks at her funeral, she was very nervous if she was good enough. Costner held her hand through that whole process and they definitely had chemistry! But then the drug use started (probably introduced to her by her husband) and it took that smile and singing away and then her life - it was very sad to watch!
He spoke at her funeral. Very moving and touching. He talks about making the movie with her.
He truly cared about her.
There is an interview that Costner did where he admits that he fell in love with Whitney and will never get over her passing.
Kevin Costner's comments at Whitney's funeral made me a fan of his for life.
This was Whitney at her peak in my opinion. And I remember Kevin Costner being absolutely heartbroken when she passed. He was asked to eulogize her; he did and it was really touching.
Her version of the national anthem she sang at the super bowl was EPIC and the absolute best version.
Yes!!
They should just play that version at every sport event from here on ❤
@ I’m confident that if they did, not a lot of people would kneel for it.
I was just going to comment to have him check it out too!!! Her at her best! 😂
Agreed 💯
Possibly the greatest individual female pop recording of all time.
And Karen Carpenter
@@michaelasay8587 they said recording
Not only did she have the voice of an Angel, she was one of the most beautiful women, that ever walked this earth.
Whitney had such incredible talent. She was a gift to the world. My heart still breaks whenever I hear her now. It is a huge tragedy that drugs took her, and many others. Please please people. Don't do drugs of any kind - ever.
There is a video of Kevin's eulogy at Whitney's funeral and it is fantastic - I've seen it like 5 times and touches me every time.
Absolutely
Saw it live and I was in tears the whole time.... 😢
BP, Whitney had 10 straight USA billboard number one songs in the 80s. At the time that was a record for most consecutive number one songs.
Shes called " the Voice," for a reason. The industry destroyed her, then took her life. We will uphold her legacy. She didn't deserve to die and many of us miss her. Whitney was a very classy and seemed very down to earth.
She makes me cry every time with her vocals. You should react to her National Anthem. It's the best one ever.... RIP Whitney 😢
Then Chris Stapleton.
The duet of Whitney and Mariah Carey of When You Believe is amazingly beautiful. Two super voices together.
I'll cry with you young man. Her beauty and talent were beyond compare and I watched her deteriorate through terrible drug abuse and finally lose her life while still in the thralls of this entrapment. Absolutely heartbreaking. And if you can't cry about this, you can't cry about anything.

Her voice was so amazing. ❤

It’s so sad that she’s gone. No one will ever touch her talent. ❤
The woman had a gift from God! So sad to have it taken so soon. RIP Whitney. BTW, you should watch the movie. The soundtrack in amazing. 👍
Great singer that we lost way too soon. Makes me want to cry.
Her performance at the Billboard Awards was amazing. There was a sanding ovation several minutes before she even finished
If you can get through the video of her performing the National Anthem at SuperBowl XXV without shedding a tear, you may not be human. Three more that you MUST react to are, “The Greatest Love of All“, “One Moment in Time”, and “Run to You”.
She was stunningly beautiful and a voice unsurpassed by any. My all time favorite female singer, words can't express how much I loved her voice. Gone much to soon, truly miss her.

I totally agree. We had the same addiction. Luckily I walked away from mine 20 years ago
@@stevenwoodward5923 Glad to hear that! Much respect for making the effort and winning the battle!!

I would agree
@ BP how well do you know her 80s catalogue? I don’t want to request you reacting to one of her songs that you already know well.
She was so talented and beautiful, miss her
Whitney was amazing but I still think that Mariah Carey still slightly beats her!

No singer like Whitney. This is one of her best songs. And loved this movie.
There are several outstanding live performances out there that also showcase Whitney's amazing talent. They shouldn't be hard to find.
The breath control needed for this song is crazy!

Whitney Houston How Will I Know, and I Wanna Dance With Somebody

I have always put Whitney and Celine on equal footing.
Different styles but the technique and emotion from both is nothing less than extraordinary.
Not on the same level. Sorry Celine is great but Whitney was gifted

By the way, there's a song called Jungle Fever. 😊
Another brilliant singer who died to young. Her mother sang back up for Elvis Presley.
The live version at Billboard awards 1993 shows why she is consdiered from another world, incompatable!
To this day I love her music and every time I get to the end of a song of hers I remember she's gone 😢
😭😭😭 Such a talented beauty.
Poor darlin, used by so many and lost her way. I hope she’s finally at peace, she deserves it
Kevin Cosner said of Whitney Houstin; "one true love". When she belts out a part of a song, if you don't get cold chills, you're dead.
this women makes me cry when I hear her voice. I have wtched this movie at least 7 times

Her song One Moment In Time is stunning. I think she performed it at the Olympics.
