as is tradition for this song, i went crazy and decided to make a rhythm doctor level for the first time in three days! at least one entire day was trying to record myself S clearing the level! you can see there's a moment around like 0:47 where i got nervous and tapped on instinct but since it's the only mistake i made i decided to just call it there
i was scared when designing it that i was making it too mean but my playtesters all said it was fair, so i basically made no changes to it after the first pass. ty again for the flavor foley team for giving me the perms to put this up on steam yay ♥ belatedly realizing that flavor foley is a play on words, aka flavorfully. lyrical genius strikes again. shoutouts as well to Hypo_Conducter on twt for making that rhythm heaven level, that inspired me a lot
it's been a long while since i've done pixel art or anims, but it was easy to get back into. the face gave me the most trouble since the exact shape of ^q^ is actually a surprisingly high amount of pixels, but i figured out how to simplify it down even further.
I considered going crazier with rhythm doctor's level editor features, like adding in subtitles, but when i started doing it i felt like it just didn't look that good. the level itself is already fairly challenging without a bunch of visual distraction, so i decided it would be easier to leave it as is
anyways everyone in the world should play rhythm doctor thats my final message goodbye

HOLY HECK both astounding rhythm doctor AND rhythm heaven representation with this song??? I know everyone is saying this but the custom sprites are well-made and downright adorable! Also I love how the inputs are timed to really put the *snap* in the sinew snapping part of the song near the end ^q^

I really love that you used Rhythm Doctor for this song! It fits the song better than other rhythm games.
THE SPRITES ARE ADORABLE AFGHHH
A few criticisms:
-> The classic beats from 0:34-0:38 seem to be offbeat; the same goes for 1:53-1:55; I feel like using X rows / adjusting its tick would make it more suited to the beat. It just seems...off?
-> Having the beats pulse more on parts like in 2:55 would make the chart more dynamic imo
-> Certain multi-shots hit on a beat which don't correspond to the rhythm? Also, some beats feel like they could be more of a freezeshot as opposed to a multishot.
Other than that, it's a very nice chart.
I do feel sometimes that it's a bit lacking in terms of visual effects (like, you could try HoM + Vertical Screen Scroll + some sort of trippy VFX Preset like Abberation or Screen Waves at )
There are dedicated communities around the creation of rhythm doctor levels where you can get advice.

I feel like it's a missed opportunity to not have that hand cut off by the blue column at the end.

Backstory of this
Yi Xi was arrested while she was cannibalizing another innocent person, but her heartbeat went abnormal, and thus you are obligated to save her
If you lose, maniacal laughing from her can be heard, as she dies with a smile.
If you win, she will scream in anger, and a cutscene appears where the cops restrain her and drive her into an Asylum.
