I get what you're trying to say, but if u think about it more carefully, there was a bit of a gap between SwSh & PLA. 2020: SwSh DLCs, 2021: BDSP (made by Ilca). There wasnt a new Gamefreak title from 2020 to 2021, which led to PLA being 1 of the better modern Pkmn game, if not the best. Sadly, it came out early 2022 instead of the usual winter, meaning that they used the holidays of 2022 as a means to push out SV when it wasn't in a cooked & ready state to be released. It seems like they're pretty much repeating those set of events again. Like why they would bring Megas back in a SINGLE-PLAYER title. And are we the only ones able to use them? Can't wait for XY2 having a mega uber after the 3rd gym.
I’m lowkey kinda glad you tempered my expectations for that Pokémon Presents, I literally wanted nothing, and we got the thing I *ACTUALLY* wanted most 😂 To be fair, I’d rather of had a Legends Unova game, but Kalos definitely deserves it more.
Legends Arceus is better than Scarlet in my opinion. You feel immersed, pokemon attack you, you can throw things at them, you actually traverse around.
Hard to say. This game was most likely in production before Palworld released. I think it might have been Nintendo that correct course. Nintendo pride themselves on delivering polished games and the fact Scarlet and Violet was so rough must have annoyed them since Pokemon is associated with their brand even if they don't personally make it.
5:36 you answered your own question; people that say Legends aren't mainline games is because they are not "mainline" games as you put it. Its a non-argument since its just semantics, it is a mainline game just as much as LGPE, officially; just that by "mainline" games most people refer to the core releases and similarly structured remakes.
I have no doubt in my mind thats gonna be the new standard, especially if they’re going to release this one on whats likely to be Nintendo’s newer stronger console
I hate to break everyone's bubble, but from the website, it says that the game is set in Lumiose City, not Kalos, so it's likely that the entire game will take place in Lumiose City and we'll never leave it.
It still is a legends game, so they'll probably scale it up, and leave some wild areas, or parks or such. Alternatively, the outskirts of a city can be pretty rural, if you've ever lived in that type of area.
The fact that game freak is going to release this NEXT YEAR, goes to show they're cooking the hell out of that game, that they're about to absolutely SNAP with this one. I have a great feeling this game is gonna go down in history. And we're just getting started! Side note: My favorite pokemon is Mimikyu, what's yours?
I know him from years ago when he was calling out other pokétubers in not so favourable ways. Always thought he should not be doing that because it was annoying. Did he do anything else to make him not to be spoken of?
The PSS is a fun system. And it made trading a lot easier. With the newer games especially Sun and Moon which made trading a hassle like you have to go through an entire tutorial before you start trading. And an entire area which clogged up the handheld, making it run really damn slow. The others just not as fun as the PSS was.
I enjoyed Legends way more than S/V. I entirely skipped Sw/Sh. This tells a lot by itself. So the absolute raw JOY I felt when they announced another Legends title - boooiiii living my best life over here. The gameplay is so. much. better! Legends titles will only improve, unlike the wildcards that are the traditional mainline games lmao
i loved kalos. the region, mega evolution , the variety of pokemon but despite of that it was very undercooked, they wasted a lot of potential in gen 6 and I realy hope they can redeem themself
Legends Z-A happens entirely within Lumiose City so idk how similar to Legends Arceus it will be, other than being set in the past. Seems like a completely new type of Pokemon game again
As much as I can understand everyone's excitement of the fact the game isn't coming this year and all (I mean I also reacted with surprise when it came to it). But after looking back on it, this doesn't actually change the fact that this game as well as Gen 10 are still going through the same 3 Year development cycle. PLA and SV both released in the year of 2022. Hell, even the pattern of announcement and release is practically the same as far as Legends is concerned. LA was announced in Feb of 2021, then later released in 2022. And given how again, this game will be releasing in 2025, that means that this game is gonna at least have the same development time as the previous. So essentially, nothing has realistically changed. For now we can only wait and see what they plan for when it comes to the release of the next Switch console. Until then, its still the same ol story with Pokémon Company and their release schedules.
I don't think Game Freak would have announced ZA now to release it mid 2025 as a launch title for the next Switch, Game Freak is never in a hurry to move on to the next console and if anything it makes sense for them to drop a final title for the Switch early 2025 and then move on to Gen 10 as their first title on the Switch 2. If ZA really is for the next console it would make more sense for them to hold on announcing it until the S2 gets revealed EDIT: Have fun with Rebirth! Super hyped for it as well!
Best case scenario? Legends A-Z late 2025, gen X late 2026. About switch 2: if it’s indeed backwards compatible, we would be able to play this game with better framefrate. I doubt they’d go as far as giving it a proper next gen patch. But one can dream
this is all I want: NO MORE REMAKES, EVER AGAIN. I mean, there are sooooooo many different ideas: Sequels (B/W3, HG/SS2, X/Y2, ETC), Prequels: Legends, spinoffs: Mystery dungeon, Conquest, Coloseum, GOD, pixel remasters for gen 1 and 2, COLLECTIONS for gens 4-5-6-7 with quiality of life improvements, acces to Home, ETC!
But if they stop to do remakes Game Freak need to stop being dumbasses and actually port their games to modern consoles. The fact Gen 1, 2 and 3 is not on Nintendo Online yet is baffling.
I do wanna say Gen 10 could be coming in 2026 for 30th anniversary so it could go back to annual releases BUT Legends Arceus (and I assume ZA) was made by a separate team as Gamefreak has two teams. So if it comes out holiday 2026, that means it’s been in development since 2022!
@@eeeeggnog._. That is very true. Team B hasn’t worked on game since 2021 since legends Arceus finished development around mid 2021. This is likely it. A lot of people don’t know gamefreak has two teams, the main team works on the debut generation game while team B works on whatever games in that said generation to train their younger staff.
I'm more excited for a new Legends game than I ever would have been if they had announced a new remake or even Gen 10. Give me Legends, make it good, make it quality. Reignite my trust in Game Freak THEN give me Gen 10. Gen 10 should be a massive milestone and I don't want it until I'm confident it will deliver in every way.
I've heard rumors that the holiday games just aren't announced yet. Probably just cope from those people, but maybe they were delayed and coming after Legends. Or maybe they are coming in November. Wouldn't put it past Nintendo, but signs right now say 2025
The Pokémon spin-off games work for the Nintendo consoles. Quality matters, and there should be plenty of content and attractive visuals and design to make them worth it. 2D anime graphics need to come back, and the same classic art style can be reused and make a series sell.
It’s wonderful that it’s releasing in 2025, even if it’s in January a couple of extra months is already promising. I don’t like Megas. But if Legends Z-A can fix em I’ll take it.
And the classic 3D Zelda formula is visible in XY. After three GYMs, you get the Mega Ring and a Mega Lucario. In Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, and A Link Between Worlds; you go through three dungeons before obtaining the Master Sword.
I’m so scared about this. I want them to really take their time to make sure this game is gonna be good but I’m also realistic knowing that it’ll probably be rushed/buggy/poorly optimized/etc. They’ve burned me the last few years but I’ll always be a Pokémon fan. Hell I’m about to drop $350 on Pokémon series dvds for my collection.
I'm glad GameFreak is... hopefully, taking their time with this. But I was hoping for at least a new Mystery Dungeon game during the year instead of just nothing, though that's just me. I miss Mystery Dungeon.
Look, I loved this video and what you said, but there’s one thing that doesn’t sit right with me: this idea that you don’t understand why people don’t Legends Arceus as a mainline game. I can see why you’d see it as a mainline game, but let’s focus on the definition: what IS a mainline game? Some people think it’s just being able to catch and battle and experience the lore of a new region, all of that, in ways that a game like Pokémon Ranger or Pokémon Ranch wouldn’t. However, by that logic, would Coliseum or XD: Gale of Darkness count as mainline titles? Many don’t consider them mainline games because they are: 1. Isolated from the main continuity lore-wise 2. Do not provide a competitive scene within their games ( the ability to trade / battle with others ) 3. Only provide Pokémon via transfer TO the main games at the time, being Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald Going off of these three criteria, Hisui is much like Orre: a region that could be acknowledged as being canon, but cannot be accessed in the main series of the game, and only in Legends Arceus. What separates Hisui isn’t necessarily a vast distance of space, but time and environmental factors which don’t allow Ursaring or Stantler and other Pokémon to evolve like they could in the past. Furthermore, you cannot trade or battle with others in Legends Arceus, so for the competitive Pokémon perspective, they are not mainline games. They are optional detours in and of themselves, which only supply the main games at the time ( Gen 9 ) with Pokémon that cannot be encountered in Sinnoh, Galar, or Paldea. Many competitive-minded players EXCLUSIVELY played Legends Arceus for access to Enamorus due to its competitive viability, and to this day I know many who stick to Hisui for specific competitive sets, such as max-size Alpha Pokémon, or zero speed EV Ursaluna. These factors in both Orre and Hisui contribute to Legends Arceus being seen as not a mainline game, but rather a “canonical optional detour.” I love Legends Arceus, but I could totally see why it isn’t seen by many as a mainline game. It depends on what your definition of “mainline” is. I personally hope you can battle and trade online in Legends Z-A. I say that if we could do that in Let’s GO Pikachu / Eevee, we should be able to do so in a game which promises to strengthen the lore of the Pokémon franchise. Let’s GO is weird: it exists in a world of sketchy continuity. I think we could be fine saying that it isn’t necessarily a mainline game, either: but it actually provided a metagame for its ability to connect online, battle and trade, in spite of issues with canonicity.
Problem will be if they announce gen 10 a month after release like they did with gen 9. Hoping they don't and leave gen 10 for 2026 for the 30th anniversary
I just find it super hilarious Johto and Unova fans being like "JOHTO IS NEXT!!" "NO, UNOVA IS NEXT!!" and Gamefreak just peeks out the curtain going "Bonjour..." I'm so excited for this game lol, Kalos NEEDED that Pokemon Z so badly, Unova can wait!
The Mega Evolution I want most actually isn't Flygon or Milotic. Don't get me wrong, I want them to get Mega's but the one I REALLY want is Mega Rapidash. And here's how it should be done; Type: Fire/Flying Ability: Magic Guard Attack: 144 Defense: 90 Special Attack: 80 Special Defence: 90 Speed: 131 And yes, I calculated that it's 100 stat points higher than normal Rapidash. No Gen 6 Alakazam 90 points higher miscalculation here. Stat spreads might be the most under appreciated parts of Mega Evolutions but they're also the most important function, especially if this game pulls a Legends: Arceus and ditches Abilities.
Hey, Soul I have heard that Pokemon Legends Z-A might be released on Nintendo Switch 2 and I have been thinking of buying a Nintendo Switch so should I hold off on the purchase for now because I am so excited for the game that I want to buy it as soon as it releases so I will buy switch 2 instead if it releases on that

If we don't get a pokemon game early next year that's not LegendsZ.
I might rise my expextations for the game's over all quality. Untill then I will remain carefull. It'll be cool regardless, just a tought.
Also if you think about it they remade diamond and pearl which was probably related to legends arce us so maybe we get a remake of x and y?
I hope the go over the war that happned in gen 6 along with The Ultimite weapon
The game is officially mentioned for the Switch.
Not a new console. And the engine may be UE because of current GameFreak hirings.
It's going to be a cross gen game.
possible that they might release it for both consoles. thats what breath of the wild did

Like why they would bring Megas back in a SINGLE-PLAYER title.
And are we the only ones able to use them?
Can't wait for XY2 having a mega uber after the 3rd gym.
I’m lowkey kinda glad you tempered my expectations for that Pokémon Presents, I literally wanted nothing, and we got the thing I *ACTUALLY* wanted most 😂
To be fair, I’d rather of had a Legends Unova game, but Kalos definitely deserves it more.
Something I noticed in Legends is we got a lot of mons that are able to Mega Evolve so I presume there will be a link to that
Legends Arceus is better than Scarlet in my opinion. You feel immersed, pokemon attack you, you can throw things at them, you actually traverse around.
I don't know how to feel about the map being 1.68km or 2 arkham cities big is that too small?
You think PalWorld’s success got Pokémon attention and they are course correcting?
Can’t wait for Pokemon Legends: ZaZa
I was waiting for someone to make this joke since the game trailer 🤣
Also we won't see any title besides this for quite some years, so it must include PvP content.
Ps: GameFreak PLEASE bring P.S.S back!
The first video about the new game that I’ve watched all the way through, bravo 👏🏾💛✨
Do you think pokemon will increase their price from $60 to $70 like a lot of other games are doing?
I have no doubt in my mind thats gonna be the new standard, especially if they’re going to release this one on whats likely to be Nintendo’s newer stronger console
@@SoulStoryMode😂 Yikes
I hate to break everyone's bubble, but from the website, it says that the game is set in Lumiose City, not Kalos, so it's likely that the entire game will take place in Lumiose City and we'll never leave it.
It still is a legends game, so they'll probably scale it up, and leave some wild areas, or parks or such. Alternatively, the outskirts of a city can be pretty rural, if you've ever lived in that type of area.
Lumiose City is IN Kalos.
As long as they DON'T release gen 10 next year, i'm fine.
Vaporeon ❤
Krokorok definitely
4:32 except if you are verlisify, but we don't talk about him.
He who shall not be named.
I know him from years ago when he was calling out other pokétubers in not so favourable ways. Always thought he should not be doing that because it was annoying.
Did he do anything else to make him not to be spoken of?
in lore mega evolution is exclusive to kalos and another hooen timeline, any other region anyone using it was because export
Legends is also ironically a wild card, especially in this instance, but its clearly a much more welcome one LOL
@@SoulStoryMode true! there's so much more creative freedom and potential with Legends, I'll take it any day of the week :D
Woop woop!
if it's February, it doesn't matter if it's later it really makes a difference
i loved kalos. the region, mega evolution , the variety of pokemon but despite of that it was very undercooked, they wasted a lot of potential in gen 6 and I realy hope they can redeem themself
I want Diantha and Lysandre to be done right. Problem is, we don't know if this game takes place within their lifetimes.
Imagine they're kids lol
I just hope there are random trainer battles. My only gripe with Legends Arceus is that there are minimal, almost zero
Depends... If we get Legends early 2025 then it won't be a leap year anyway.
Legends Z-A happens entirely within Lumiose City so idk how similar to Legends Arceus it will be, other than being set in the past. Seems like a completely new type of Pokemon game again
That 1dt trailer is gonna smack
cant wait for the totally needed mega Charizard z and a
As much as I can understand everyone's excitement of the fact the game isn't coming this year and all (I mean I also reacted with surprise when it came to it).
If ZA really is for the next console it would make more sense for them to hold on announcing it until the S2 gets revealed
EDIT: Have fun with Rebirth! Super hyped for it as well!
I really hope Pokémon Legends Z-A comes out at late 2025 or is delayed to come out during 2026 just to give them enough to make an actual good game
Best case scenario? Legends A-Z late 2025, gen X late 2026.
About switch 2: if it’s indeed backwards compatible, we would be able to play this game with better framefrate. I doubt they’d go as far as giving it a proper next gen patch. But one can dream
12:40 hey it could be worse.
It could be Macrocosmos
I am both excited and skeptical because of the little information we got I just hope we get a gameplay trailer soon
I'm crossing my fingers for a 3ds online ports
this is all I want: NO MORE REMAKES, EVER AGAIN.
I mean, there are sooooooo many different ideas: Sequels (B/W3, HG/SS2, X/Y2, ETC), Prequels: Legends, spinoffs: Mystery dungeon, Conquest, Coloseum, GOD,
pixel remasters for gen 1 and 2,
COLLECTIONS for gens 4-5-6-7 with quiality of life improvements, acces to Home, ETC!
But if they stop to do remakes Game Freak need to stop being dumbasses and actually port their games to modern consoles. The fact Gen 1, 2 and 3 is not on Nintendo Online yet is baffling.
Also the spinoffs like Mystery Dungeon, Conquest and Colosseum are made by other game studios. Game Freak didn't make them.
Game Freaks has been working on this for about 6 months. Having it release in late November on maybe new hardware
@Boomer72O how do you know how long they've been working on it? I would assume they started right after legends arceus
Well well how the table have turned
I’m excited to see Pokémon Legends Z it looks amazing and awesome plus I can’t wait to my main frog 🐸 Greninja again
It’s wonderful that it’s releasing in 2025, even if it’s in January a couple of extra months is already promising.
I don’t like Megas. But if Legends Z-A can fix em I’ll take it.
This game can't failed it need to success
And the classic 3D Zelda formula is visible in XY. After three GYMs, you get the Mega Ring and a Mega Lucario. In Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, and A Link Between Worlds; you go through three dungeons before obtaining the Master Sword.
I'm looking forward to pokemon legends zegends
Whats wrong with cold pizza. Why you gotta say it like that.
I still hope for a remake to keep us busy next December.
Honestly they should just port Gen 1, 2 and 3 to NSO and I would be more than happy.
I also had the MOST FUN playing LOA!! 😊
Im hoping late spring early summer at the earliest for the release
Oh hell yea I haven’t gotten recommended a video from you in like a year
I’m so scared about this.
I feel you on that. I may be a little too hopeful, but the farther away it is, the more time they can take to truly craft something beautiful 😭😭
They probably didn’t show gameplay because they started development last week.
Bait used to be believable
@@realdaslup I bet they made the logo for the game the night before the direct.
Bait used to be believable
I think they're mainly stalling for time so they can release Gen 10 in 2026 for both the new console & the 30th anniversary
I miss that shiny sound and mass releasing Pokémon so much
Lol regardless of whether you're disappointed or not, fans will buy whatever GF will announce anyway.
Because people like pokemon, that's all there is to it
I'm glad GameFreak is... hopefully, taking their time with this.
Many don’t consider them mainline games because they are:
1. Isolated from the main continuity lore-wise
2. Do not provide a competitive scene within their games ( the ability to trade / battle with others )
3. Only provide Pokémon via transfer TO the main games at the time, being Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald
Going off of these three criteria, Hisui is much like Orre: a region that could be acknowledged as being canon, but cannot be accessed in the main series of the game, and only in Legends Arceus.
These factors in both Orre and Hisui contribute to Legends Arceus being seen as not a mainline game, but rather a “canonical optional detour.”
I love Legends Arceus, but I could totally see why it isn’t seen by many as a mainline game.
I would've liked a spin off like Mystery Dungeon, but regardless it's fine.
Pokémon Ranger could play like Legends. Hikari no Kiseki has the best art style.
For real I put in hundreds of hours in that game and I’ve never done that for a Pokemon game
So GF is making Gen 10, this, and that Great Value Sekiro Samurai game. That's a lot.
I just find it super hilarious Johto and Unova fans being like
"JOHTO IS NEXT!!"
"NO, UNOVA IS NEXT!!"
and Gamefreak just peeks out the curtain going "Bonjour..."
I'm so excited for this game lol, Kalos NEEDED that Pokemon Z so badly, Unova can wait!
The Mega Evolution I want most actually isn't Flygon or Milotic. Don't get me wrong, I want them to get Mega's but the one I REALLY want is Mega Rapidash. And here's how it should be done;
Type: Fire/Flying
Ability: Magic Guard
Attack: 144
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 80
Special Defence: 90
Speed: 131
And yes, I calculated that it's 100 stat points higher than normal Rapidash.
