- A new Pokemon Legends ZA, teaser trailer revealed for Switch in 2025 released and with it, the not so hidden secret of the return of Mega Evolutions! Z-A is and open world Pokemon game will be set in Lumiose city but will it be in the past or the future and what new Pokemon and regional forms will we get? Most excitedly for me as a fakemon artist is creating new mega evolutions for the Kalos starters as well as eventually new legendary pokemon, mythical pokermon, hisuian forms (but for kalos) and of course bloodmoon forms.

The bubbles on Greninja make sense because a lot of megas feature traits from previous stages

A Kalos mon that would be interesting to have a Mega is Heliolisk, maybe gain that Electric/Fire typing people gave for third evos for it

A hypothetical Mega Heliolisk should, in addition to the Electric/Fire typing, have an ability that turns Normal type moves into Fire type moves and boosts their power. My idea for the name is Immolate.

Considering Luxray's theme is light and X-Rays, a good dual type for a mega should be Electric/Fairy
Turn it into a hologram and make it Electric/Ghost. Now it can't just see through the walls, it can *pass* through them too!
Fennekin is legit my favorite pokemon in the franchise and its evolutions deserved so much more from gamefreak😭

Besides, type changes with megas are definitely a thing and yeah, if he is supposed to be the fighter/knight class, the fact that he wasn't steel type to start is kind of odd. Grass/Steel work great with his mega and he looks awesome!

Those are three insanely great mega forms! I love them all! As an avid Kalos boy at heart, that brought me joy, thank you for that. I'm so hyped for Pokemon Z-A and can't wait to see game freak fix their mistake of rushing Kalos in the original X and Y

Maybe it could fun to design potential new regional forms, especially since it's been confirmed we'll be only moving about Lumious City in Legends Z-A, so what if some of the Pokemon have readapted to not only Kalos but parts of Lumious City that have caused them have some notable changes? The idea of Pokemon adapting into new forms because of how the city is before and after part of it have been redesigned is fun thought and concept to me.

Granted, they could create a new ability that has the same traits as Punk Rock but with a different name like with Insomnia & Vital Spirit. That way, other sound-based Pokémon that aren't designed around punk rock music could get it.

For Greninja, maybe replace Water Bubble for a new signature ability:
Shadow Clone
Any and all attacks from the target do no damage once Greninja Mega Evolves or switches in and afterwards makes all attacks by the user a guaranteed hit (excluding OHKO moves, of course).
This only works once for balance purposes.

Kalos starters are my absolute favorite trio, you did marvelously on all these designs, like I actually need this to be real now! Changing Chesnaughts type to Grass / Steel is actually ingenious, happy accident for sure.
Mega Gogoat that is Grass Ground would be so cool.
I'd love to see your ideas for Mega Flygon and Lapras. I'm hoping Lapras will be more common place in Kalos' past.

I really love the love you have to Delphox, which is unironically my favorite pokemon.
Here's few ideas:
*Mega Zebstrika- Electric/Flying Type with Anger Point
*Mega Chandelure with Wonder Guard
*Mega Swoobat-Psychic/Fairy type with an ability I call Lovey Dovey (it lowers an opponents attack and special defense by 2 stages)
*Mega Bouffalant-Normal/Ground type with Fluffy
2X damage 5 Hit Water Shuriken with 153 SpA is actually crazy.
These are all easily the best mega kalos starter’s I’ve seen

Megas have always had a soft spot in my heart (my first actual interaction with Pokémon as a person who actually cared was the XY anime) and I’m so excited for more of them. These designs would be everything I want in megas for these three and more. I’m very excited to see what you make next

I always liked the kalos starters, and these designs are just great. Chesnaught and Delphox's megas are really neck and neck here. I did like that mid design of greninja having a bloodbone-esq/ sir Arron hat made it look intimidating, cool and helped made it stand out more.

Mega Chesnaught looks adorable but mighty! I really adore it's face! It looks really cute and a little cat like which I like a lot! It's an awesome spikey fren that'll protect its pals no matter what!
Mega Greninja is an interesting take, I don't think I've seen an interpretation where it uses a lot of bubbles again! I like that the bubbles still make the shape of a scarf like the tongue did, and kunai is a fun swap from the shurikens! It'd be really funny if Mega Greninja had a move where it throws kunai at you and then smacks you with a giant bubble sword lol! I honestly really like all of these, but I am quite curious about what they'll do with Battle Bond Greninja in Legends Z-A since it's sorta a Mega(?)
While I'd love for Battle Bond to become usable for all Greninjas or even a full fledged Mega, I think it'd be really nice to just give Greninja a fresh new Mega to go along with it's two friends!
Surprisingly, as a crazy big Greninja fan and it being my favorite Pokemon because of watching the XY/XYZ anime every Saturday morning, I think Mega Delphox takes the cake for me this time! I just love it's whole vibe and amazing new design! Heck I even really loved Chesnaughts more! Greninja was really great though! I think this proves that Delphox and Chesnaught have just as much potential to become amazingly beloved Pokemon as our favorite sneaky ninja phrog! Let's hope The Pokemon Company can cook up some stellar new Mega designs for these three and many more in Legends Z-A!

I always felt that the Kalos starters should not have had a a secondary type triangle. The other gens where all the starters got a secondary type didn't do this. Chesnaught should have been grass/steel, Delphox fire/fairy and Greninja is already fine as is

If these were the actual megas, I'd be so torn between the three, instead of immediately choosing the bubble frog.
I hope it will be an openworld just like Arceus legends not just limited to one village or one town. It should have multiple towns and city.
I'm sorely disappointed the final design doesn't hide Greninja's face like the WIP version, that nailed the mysterious Dark-Type rogue vibes so hard.
On the other hand, the armor-like pieces on Chestnaught's body are perfection! The Pokémon would have been a lot more popular if it had had something at all there instead of his body being empty of design elements.
That's fair. Although i really loved the hat, I felt it affected the silhouette just a little bit too much. I do miss it though haha. Thanks for the love on chesnaught tho

3:02 I like chestnaught thank you very much it may be simple but I think it adds to its design in a way plus Clemont’s chespin in the anime was one of my favorite of ash’s traveling companion pokemon like up there with Iris’ axew and Brock’s Crogunk and ludicolo plus some others but still I like chestnaught alot and anyone who says other wise shall face the wrath of my lvl 100 chestnaught named furby
Ive seen a lot of fanmade delphox mega evos but yours is the best! It perfectly captures delphox's witch vibe while still maintaining the look that made it unique

Pokemon artists that stick to their own artstyle instead of trying to imitate official artstyle just makes me so happy! love ur designs! also pleease consider Mega Beheeyem (i dont even like it that much but it has so much potential)
one more thing! ok ok hear me out, they’ve done almost everything they could with the regional variant concept; regional variants and unique evolutions (Obstagoon) or multiple forms (Aqua/Fire Paldean Tauros) or lookalikes (Wiglett, Toedscool)… all except one thing, giving regional variants/evos new Gimmick forms, like Megas perhaps in PL:Z-A
it’s a natural next step if you ask me, it would even explain why couldn’t see those megas in the present day, it’s because these regional pokemons capable of mega evolving went extinct (or didn’t exist yet, if you believe plza is in the future)

I really like the ideas and art you had for the Kalos starters' potential Mega Evolutions. In terms of design, my favorite might be Mega Greninja. I liked that you replaced the tongue with bubbles. That, and the fact that it doesn't look like Ash-Greninja. I appreciated that you gave Mega Delphox a mage's staff rather than a wand. It makes me wish that regular Delphox wielded a staff instead of a wand.
I read your comment, so I know you didn't mean to say Grass/Steel as Chesnaught's typing. That said, if its typing were to change upon Mega Evolving, Grass/Steel would be a sufficient type combination for Chesnaught. I'm glad that you gave it Mirror Armor, as I'd like to see that ability distributed to more Pokémon. Regardless of type, other abilities that could work are Bulletproof, Iron Barbs, and Filter.
I liked your choice for Mega Delphox's potential ability. Magic Bounce would work well. I could also see it with Drought, Psychic Surge, Fur Coat, or a new ability that I'd call Third Eye. This ability would allow the user to damage Dark types with Psychic-type attacks. This would be an ability that I'd like to see other Psychic types receive.
Water Bubble is a clever idea for a Mega Greninja, especially since the only other abilities that I could see it have are Protean, Dry Skin, and Swift Swim.
I'm looking forward to seeing more fan art from you.

I absolutely love Mega Greninja's slim and simplistic design. And the Water Bubble ability would be the justice that needs to be served for favorite mon, especially how much they nerfed it in Scarlet and Violet, while Incineroar remains unchanged. Also, I think Gliscor or Flygon would make great fits for mega evolving.
