Russian seems so hard to learn, I did want to learn German to help with learning old English and even they are quite complicated

Yeah, learning languages in general is quite a commitment

This is good to know. Personally, when I “like” something in Russian, I prefer “мне нрвавится.” Because the action comes from the object itself: it is “pleasing” me.
Hard, but fun language. You’re an excellent teacher!

Спасибо, that’s helpful. This was confusing me as the verb “love” doesn’t really change meaning in English. Just learnt «обожать» as well.
