🎬 Welcome to Crossmind Studio's Blender Course: "Animated Character Creation in 3D" - Your Ultimate Beginner-Friendly Guide!
🌟 About the Course:
This comprehensive guide is designed for aspiring beginners, providing an immersive journey from character modeling, uv, shading, rigging to making your first animated scene and rendering it.
This course is crafted for beginners who often find themselves with questions right after delving into 3D software and wondering how animated characters are created. In this course, we take things up a notch, moving beyond basic object modeling to the creation of characters, guiding you through the entire process, ultimately leading to animation.
Featuring over 10 hours of content spread across 20 chapters (compressing more than 40 hours of tightly edited material).
By the end of this course, you will have understood all the aspects involved in creating characters and how you can use this knowledge to craft your animated stories.
Whether you aim to create characters for animations, illustrations, motion graphics, music videos, or your own UA-cam channel, this course is suitable for everyone. It guides you through the entire process without overwhelming you with details that can be explored at a later stage.
--------------------------------------------------
🐱🏍 More insight into this course.
I'm sure many of you who are learning 3D and animation have stories to tell. Whether it's through animations, illustrations, graphic novels, music videos, experimental films or UA-cam videos, there are various mediums to express your thoughts. Every one of us stepping into the world of 3d is curious about one thing right after getting introduced to these fancy software's: how do you make animated characters? And that's what this series is all about.
We're going to create a character in 3D, and not just a 3d model but an animated 3d character model, which you can use to bring your stories to life. Just like how you must have seen in cartoon shows. By the end of the series, we'll have animated the character, covering everything from modelling, UV mapping, texturing, shading, armature rigging, all the way to animation, simulations and final rendering. Most importantly, we'll be doing it in a way that is beginner friendly. You don't need to have knowledge of sculpting or a great understanding of human anatomy to follow along.

1. What version are you using in this course?
I am using Pre-release 4.0, but this tutorial is compatible with previous versions as well. A few improvements and updates in riggify and shading nodes have been mentioned, comparing both the old and new versions. You can also follow along with the LTS version.
2. Where can i get the full course?
crossmindstudio.gumroad.com/l/animatedcharacter
3. Is this course entirely free?
The course is not entirely free. Modeling to shading chapters will be released on UA-cam every few weeks. However, the Premium edition on Gumroad unlocks the full course, including the
complete process from modeling, UV, shading, rigging overview, rigging with riggify, weight painting, props manual rigs, pose library setup, animating walk cycles, cloth simulations, creating a background with geometry nodes and procedural shaders, lighting, final rendering, and compositing. In addition to bonus content, it also comes with project files, animated bonus scenes, and other benefits. Check gumroad for full information.
4. Will this course be compatible with the next release?
For as long as there are no major changes to the interface of Blender, this course should be compatible. The last major UI change Blender received was recently during version 3.0, and the same
will be followed in upcoming versions as well.
5. I am an absolute beginner; can I watch this series?
If you have never used Blender before, I suggest you clear the basics first. Please check out this series, which helps with basics:
ua-cam.com/play/PLgO2ChD7acqH5S3fCO1GbAJC55NeVaCCp.html). After this, it will be easier for you to follow along with the new concepts introduced in this course.
6. I need help regarding the course; where should I connect?
You can use the dedicated Discord channel for this server. The link to Discord is available in the description and channel banner:

Bro I am a beginner and I don't know that my question make any sense to you or not but want to know
Why don't we just use blender sculpturing tool to create this model ?
The classes are amazing, But it would be much better if you used that function that shows all keyboard shortcuts and mouse commands in the bottom left corner of the screen.
can you have the settings where it shows the keys you pressed during the video ?
Very helpful
It's an add on

Excelente tutorial,

para visualizar mouse, teclas e atalhos em tempo real.
thank U!!
thank you soooo much
This is an awesome lesson, brother.
The eyes' shape transforms into circles at 7.14 seconds. How did this happen?
Thanks for thee awesome tutorial! Learning a lot on my first try to create a character. btw is there a problem if the vertices get hidden inside the skull? every time I modify the shape a few of them get hidden and on yours it looks very clean on top of the head.
I was here !😊
Thank you very much....!!!!
I enjoyed this tutorial, but if I'm honest I found it very frustrating as I got further in. The pace ramps up considerably as it continues and it feels like useful adjustments being made aren't mentioned or don't get enough explanation. Those details and adjustments are what really take the mesh from being a faceless head to an actual face. For example, the adjustments being made when it came to filling out and closing in the lips feel glossed over/rushed through. I found myself really struggling to get the mouth so come together in a similar manner. I kept having to repeat 3 or 4 seconds just to get a good idea of how I should be moving or scaling something.
@LggEditor thank you for you comment. I'll be skipping this tutorial until much later then.
its wow
thank u
Muito bom, vou praticar mais pois a minha primeira tentativa ficou horrível 😂😂, vídeo bem explicativo, parabéns pelo conteúdo.
idem aqui, tá parecendo a máscara do Jason
Love u sir ❤❤❤❤

Yes, please. It's the only thing missing from this tutorial -- otherwise perfect.

I am new to blender character modelling and making a photorealistic character with the help of these tutorials will it help me?
Wonderful 🫡
Perfect character modeling method!
Can anyone help, I'm stuck at 15:45. The extrusions (if that is correct) I do for a the depth in the ears isn't working as well, its still sharp despite the sub-division modifier enabled. Have I missed something after you did the inset? Was there a command you did which isn't mentioned?
Please make course or tutorial on photorealistic AAA game ready character.

@CrossMind Studio
sir plz you can make how to creation billboard animation
when I'm trying to tweak the points/ vertices around eye socket by obviously pressing G double times, it isn't moving the vertices: indeed it's creating triads.. it isn't happening the same way you did, please help!!
🌼🌼
So... I've heard that the best way to learn a tutorial is to apply it to something else.
I have reference sheets galore and my problem is thus. I cant get the eyeholes right. The few times i can get them to match the reference sheet, I cant get the eyeball to fit.
Is there something I'm missing?
im really getting stuck at the part where you try to make the nostrils be circle 8:30. when i click the circle in loop tools, it becomes a weird shape. pls help
After pressing I Press B to turn on the 'Boundary' option
Im having trouble with 14:52, whenever I add grit fill it turns out to be rounded instead of just filling the circular face. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Great tutorial for starter character artists
Hey I’m stuck at the part where we make the eyes shut the key framing isn’t working for me any suggestions?
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hi, I am learning alot from you. I have seen preview of your course where you use 'bsurface addon' but I think 4.0 is not supporting it😢. Would you give me a solution for this. Thanks
We wont be using it in this series. Loop tools. , riggify and node wrangler is needed.
Can anyone help me with shape key point, their i got struck and was unable to do that point
is chapter 11 and 13 done you doing amazing job thanks
Yes, just uploaded chapter 11 and by 13 i think you meant 20 which will come in next two days.
thanks
Everytime i try to do the mirror modifier it doesn't do anything. Please help.
Can UA-cam shortfilm be nominated for oscar?
Thanks sir, your videos are helpful and great
I am currently trying to model dumbeldore head in blender. I have used two different shapes for the face and the beard but now I want to curve the beard around his chin. How can I do it? Which modifier can I use or can I use snap only? Please tell
Try shrinkwrap modifier with predefined vertex group to restrict influence of the modifier on selected vertices. Assign it on beard mesh and use head mesh as a target for modifier.
Before using shrinkwrap it would be great to fit the beard mesh closer to the head using simple deform or lattice modifiers. Just to define overall shape before precise fitting.
Ok thank you very much. Will try😊

Can we get all course video here and can you upload daily a video
That's too much work my G, it's not easy as u think
Sir please upload chapter 3(torso modeling)🙏... Thank you sir for your amazing tutorial series ❤🎉
Hello. Thanks for the lessons. But I have a question. You are already sharing lessons here. What is the difference between the paid version? Why should I buy the paid version
Only modeling and shading chapters will be coming to youtube. For rest of course which also covers rigging character, props, pose library overview, walk cycle animation, cloth simulation, background creation, lighting and rendering check the premium edition.

Hello i am trying to download blender 4.0 because I am using blender 3.5 and i went to the website and try to download 4.0 but it giving me the option of 4.0.2. Please is there any way you can help me out.
It’s same thing
Sir, I want to know if there is a way I can get the version of 4 .0.1 sir. As you said in the tutorial that it is the one you’re using and I may not be able to perform some task. Thank you sir
Key screen cast
I have intentionaly left out the screencast, as those were covered in introduction series. To be able to focus on bigger subject its neccesary you practice the basic commands first so that you will can channel all your focus to bigger subjects. Nonetheless there is resource board in description mentioning keyboard shorcuts.
That is a legit rationale for not showing keys, thanks for the explanation. However, I think that even seasoned Blender users would appreciate the "show keys" feature. It's always good to revisit and reinforce the basics, whatever your level of expertise. In my karate training (ages ago), black belts would often join white belt classes -- not to teach, but to experience the fundamentals from the beginner's perspective. @@CrossMindStudio
Hello sir one request, the prices are too high for the premium course even after applying the early bird coupon its still ₹3.2k which is really expensive. It may be Normal as per American dollars but in rupees it's really high......pls drop the price sir 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I cannot use the coupon :(

So i bought this course yesterday and you are putting it free on UA-cam?
As shown in course introduction video, full course will not be on youtube.
Premium edition includes complete 20 chapters and Project files.
Please check introduction video.
Only modeling part will be available on UA-cam.
Rigging, animation and rendering etc are there on gumroad already.
I have only managed to make till torso till now, hope i can finish and make animation as well.
@@CrossMindStudio oh ok i chcecked introduction and maybe i didnt notice sorry for bothering you in that case. BTW i really enjoy this course i think you did awesome job
Glad to hear that. Feel free to share your results on discord if you'd like to discuss anything. Hope to see your character model.
tutorial is good, but it is missing finer details, like when you bevel the cube what keys are you pressing to do this? simply saying to bevel the cube is good but when your a newbie you don't know all the hot keys.
If you are new to blender chk this series 👇🏼 it will get you familiar with all essentials.

Great tutorial but I honestly don’t think this is for beginners. You just do stuff and don’t explain it . But great course by the way
Try this if you are beginner
ua-cam.com/play/PLgO2ChD7acqH5S3fCO1GbAJC55NeVaCCp.html
Bro I can understand everything bt I call my self a beginner and reading your comment made me change the idea that am a beginner😂😂😂😂
Lol I had lectures like that
It is excellent but definitely not for complete beginners. There are a lot of information not explained about how, why and results. If you have been watching other tutorials you might be ok but if you don't you will probably be lost. He knows a lot and because of that it seems to me he ignores what could be a good idea to explain better because it is natural to him. His basic course is also great. Very detailed. But here I feel something is missing. Maybe it is just me. However, definitely exceptional content to be available for free.
2:45 How to bevel edges?
edit mode - ctrl + B (Mouse wheel-segments)
Is this a paid course?
Please check previous video in this playlist. Introduction.

I bought the premium version, it is very hard to follow, he is just doing stuff and nor explaining what he is doing! No shortcuts graphics
If you are absolutely new to blender try this

This will cover basic commands for nevigation, modeling, shading etc.
Also there are short commands in resource board in description, there are quite a few.
not good, very fast, doesnt show where you clicked, how its done, incomplete, this not suitable for begginers..

Do you know any AI that can currently do that? Genuine Question🙋
