It was hard going on this hunt, but it really was worth the effort. I had two very low signals and I almost ignored them, I changed my mind and walked back to investigate them further. I'm so glad that I did!
I also made a fabulous surface find, they don't come much older than this! :)
Great video really enjoyed it, nice finds, will catch you on the next one 🇺🇸
Thanks a lot Fred, very kind of you to watch, but also posting your comment. All the best 👍
Great hunt. Thanks for being so clear in description and photography
Thanks very much for taking the time to watch the video, great to read your comment too. 😀
Some cracking finds there Andy, I'd be over the moon with a day's haul like that one! Nice collection of pot fragments and you have to be happy with that flint 👍🏻😍
Eyup Mike, hope you're keeping well? Yes it wasn't so bad after all. I watched the video myself yesterday and it looks like I didn't add the clip where I found the Roman coin! Oh heck 🤣
🤣🙈 Not to worry, I bet even Speilberg makes mistakes! I'm fine thanks, hope you and yours are in fine fettle. Not managed to get out for a couple of weeks 😞 but did find my first bronze age spearhead, not best condition but I still have a grin on my face 😁 You always seem to do well in the field, do you recommend the larger coil? 🧐👍🏻
@@mikeinstone9767 That's brilliant Mike, you'll have beengrinning from ear to ear! 🙂
Cracking dig and finds Andy mate👍👍👍
Hi Rob, thanks a lot mate. How's things with you?
@@TerraBritannia ye all OK thanks went out new years day with my nox for the first time and had a good day with some nice finds on land of been over several times 👍only managed other 3 short sessions since and not a lot came up👍but the land around me is a bit that way so that's normal 👍really enjoy your channel mate keep up the good work bud👏👏
Thank you for all your efforts.. I loved listening to your description during the roundup of your wonderful finds! Thanks again,.. Jessica from Arizona
Hi Jessica, thank you for your kind words, they are very much appreciated 😊 I hope all is well over in Arizona.
Always pleased when you have a new video. Roman ring is awesome.
Thanks my friend, always appreciated. I wish I had half of the lovely finds that you unearth 😄
Good to see you out again - great ancient finds there ! Very nice arrowhead and Roman ! Better luck with the silver next time.
Thanks very much mate, yes a bit of silver would have been very welcome too 😀
Another great hunts and excellent find and nice video thanks for sharing with us
Hi Alan, thanks as always and I do appreciate you watching the video 👍🙂
Nice finds 👌 and another great video..
Thanks very much Mel 🙂
Happy days mate, well done!
Cheers Gary, all the best buddy 👍
Cheers Andy. You certainly didn't come up short buddy. Some interesting finds there. You should be happy 😄
Cheers Del, I didn't realise until too late, but I'd missed out the clip from when I found the roman coin. 😄
quality finds keep up the videos
Many thanks again mate, very much appreciated 👍
Hi Andy , metal detectors are not always right dont care how much they cost at times they will lie to you 😁 just dig the bugger up ! , anyway the pottery chard is not Samien ware but it is Roman , it's Orange coated coarse Mortaria with internal grit's to aid grinding food and was probably made near York in the 2nd century AD , some wonderful finds there mate and strange as it seems my favourite is the arrow head followed closely by the ring , good video mate enjoyed it and thanks for the mention ATB Rob 👍
Thanks very much for your insight Rob, I know Greyware, but most of the other stuff is beyond me 😄 I was over the moon with the arrowhead, the 4ing was also a wonderful find too. I see that you've got a new video online too, going to watch that soon. All the best and thanks again. 😊
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Daniel, thanks very much buddy 👍
nice video, as always!
Thanks a lot Chris 👍
Another terrific dig video Andy, keep it up pal
Cheers Martin 👍
I did a hunt video the other day and I live in Lincolnshire. Spent 3 hours out and only found 6 items but one was a 13th century Seal Matrix so well worth the time. Do love buckles and you found a beaut of one there including the arrow head!
Thanks very much buddy. I still haven't manage to find a seal matrix, very much on my wish list 😉
Nice finds.. 😀
Hi Daniel, many thanks buddy, that's appreciated 🙂
Well coiled lad definitely Roman
Hi Damien, many thanks buddy and all the best 👍
Nice range of finds and interesting/informative video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Hi Jim, many thanks as always 🙂
Those fields weren’t for giving Andy , but I think you did really well , that buckle very nice. Wouldn’t be a detecting hunt without a handful of buttons. Don’t see many George 4th up. Nice vid , all the best
Thanks mate, yes I was surprised when George IV made an appearance after a bit of cleaning, I wasn't expecting that at all. 🙂
Nice finds mate congrats happy hunting
Thanks buddy. There 'should' have been a video clip from when I found the Roman coin too, but I messed up and didn't tap the record button on my phone! All I got was the audio recording. 😄 All the best 👍
very interesting video for me a lot of finding coins and others and I need to learn to want to be like you and other great people🙏👍😊
That's very kind of you, thanks very much for posting your comment, it's appreciated. All the best 👍
Great video pal.... I'm new to the sport, hoping to get some nice finds....
Thanks very much, hope you have an enjoyable time out detecting 👍
WELL done Andy...Happy new year to ya...i would say it's harder up here to find some items...ie Crotal bell's..cut half's cut quarters...and in my case getting New permission off land owners and farmers, ...the Item at 16 mins 17...may well be the cradle holder from a Fob seal (i noticed it was squashed ) maybe 16 to 1700's, your rite about the low numbers and not to ignore them...i was detecting in some woods and a consistent 5 came up....so when it came out imagine my delight it was a hammered farthing of edward 3rd, a tiny thing it was...i always detect in park 1 and turn all metal on and off as i go, it helps find the patches of iron, i need to watch your last video as yet...all the best take care m8 GL&HH Gordon.
Thanks very much for all the info buddy, I do appreciate that. I'll have took into fob seals now 🙂
@@TerraBritannia HI ANDY...What was i saying about Crotal Bell's....lol !
@@cassopsnoxdigger614 They're as rare as Hen's teeth around here buddy 🙂
I believe finds are harder to come by up north. Thanks for posting. I would love to find an arrow head.
Thanks Diane, I think it must be related to the size of the local population, less folks losing stuff out in the sticks 😉
Despite it taking a while to find all that, it really is a great board with a lot of variety. The roman ring is awesome even if it is broken.
Thanks buddy, yes I was feeling quite chuffed at the end. It's great to find something different and the Roman finds give me hope for something else 😉
Top job lovey hunt and you had some way cool finds wish I could spelling more and would rigjt more just my spelling but grat job you legend
Thanks very much buddy, I make plenty of typos myself 😄
I live in Carlisle Cumbria and our local cricket club is being dug up by the archaeology team Cumbria and Lancaster university in August to November, they found Roman baths and volunteers helping to dig up the findings & clean the objects and then they will be on display at the our local museum Tullie house opposite our castle, the council are going to build flood defences walls since 2005 , as the cricket club is next to the river Eden & flooded over the last few years, even when we get heavy rain.
Hi Heather, that sounds fascinating and it's interesting to find out what's buried beneath our feet. 👍
@@TerraBritannia you should meet up with the different mudlarking people in & around your area. Or go on their page's
Si finds mudlarking
Dirty secrets of Scotland
Northern mudlarking ,Manchester mudlarking, diggingtom. As you can see the different things without your metal detecting
Some great finds there always nice to be out though even if its more canslaw than relic or coin
Ha you're not wrong there mate! There's nothing like spending some time outdoors, even if you are digging up plenty of rubbish 😁
@@TerraBritannia will probably get out Sunday for a few hours at the school
@@hodgegoeshuntingrelics4622 I hope you have an enjoyable outing, even if we only get one interesting find, it's all been worthwhile.
@@TerraBritannia jts a field that keeps on given I usually come away with at least 5 pre decimal and a naval button, lots of military history in the area
R reet pal, glad I've stumbled across your channel! Really enjoyed this video mate and some nice finds. Sometimes a change of location is the right choice in life not just in detecting. Same if I go camping, sometimes there's a better spot just round the corner. Could I ask where your from?
Thanks a lot buddy, appreciate you posting your comment. I'm fairly close to York. You might be in Yorkshire too?
@@TerraBritannia sunderland originally but stafford now mate.
@Terra Britannia I'll be uploading soon just got my first permission, can't wait lol
@@TerraBritannia I had you as a mackem like haha
@@intothewild3260 Great news, I bet you can't wait to get out there 👍
Low numbers are gold
I wish they were for me 👍 Over here they're can sometimes be Roman coins, foil, small lead and today I had a low signal that turned out to be a 1250 year old bronze coin. I've never found gold 😉
@@TerraBritannia I do find lot of gold on beach
@@TerraBritannia give time you will
Think the other flint was flintlock striker from shape
Now that's really interesting as I wondered if it could be too 😀 I have a couple of them now but I wasn't certain if they were the right shape. Thanks very much for the info buddy 👍
I found a small piece of a military badge still haven’t figured out exactly what it was from I think it’s truly special maybe revolutionary or French and indian wars (seven years war) its part of an eagles wing and talons and some Bars and Stripes it’s a copper alloy yet rings up as a nickel on some of my machines And a 22 on the simplex
That sounds like a fascinating find, I do hope that you're able to find more details on what it may be. Do you have an archaeology department that might be able to help?
that is a neolithic leaf-shaped arrowhead
Thanks Louis 👍
@@TerraBritannia keep smashing that field mate gotta be saxon or viking coins there
@@louisbaldwin7097 Will do buddy 😉
Why are you not posting anymore?
Hi buddy, I'm still uploading videos to the channel, can't you see them? 🤔
