    That is taking shape! A good thing to survey. My neighbor had his new-old ATV and broke it the same day he got it. Rolling in the forest with high ferns. He stopped on a hidden stump. Ouch! All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) does not mean hit anything, anytime... The same applies to tractors!

    Bush hog the area, Hank b/c you will want some vegetation in the area for deer to browse. Even if they don't stay throughout, they love to munch on newly sprouting vegetation and the chopped weeds will bring in tender morsels for the deer to enjoy. A controlled burn is okay but it takes a while for the re-growth if you're looking for deer to come in this year. The rotary utter and grapple will handle everything in your field. Excellent field action, Hank.

    I think using the brush hog is better than a controlled burn for you property. The fire could get out. The property looks nice where you mowed. Enjoyed the video as always.

    Taking my tiny might to shop tomorrow so they can fix the leak. I am going to miss her while she is gone. I love my little tractor.

    One other thing to look for, which is more of Spring problem, is look for fawn(s) laying in the high grass. Almost got me one at the end of May right after I purchased my tractor. It was laying tight and was scared it wasn't about to move. We had walked the area, but they are easy to miss. Thankfully caught sight of it and avoid chopping up the little thing,

    Woooooooo! Land clearing is something I love watching! Id say fire is never controllable haha might be safer with bushhogging! We all love fire but dont wanna get caried away now hahah lots of foliage and surrounding brush that could be hazardous! Maybe bush hog a buffer around the dges of the area you wanna burn almost like a "fire line" to prevent the fire from spreading out of the area! Take care hank!

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  5 років тому +1

      Yes sir. For sure a fire break. Thanks for watching man 👍 I appreciate it

    As thick as that is, I'd brush hog. Loosing control of a "controlled burn" can happen quick and unexpectedly, better safe than sorry. Still need to get me a grapple!

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm

      Yeah fire breaks would be essential. Thanks Bryon.👍

    Thanks for sharing and that safety gear looks a bit warm but you still have legs that's good 👍 I really need to get some for my P.P.E .now we run a chainsaw more often. On our channel we just cut up and hauled out a double tree and root ball across a 9ft creek this must be tree removal month on UA-cam several channels have been removing tree's. Be safe have a great weekend.

    Personally, I'd rather not play with fire...I've seen controlled burns get out of hand. However, I understand why people do them when they really can't get a piece of equipment in there to control the growth. Bummer about the wheel, hopefully it won't be too difficult to straighten out. A question of the day lets you know who actually got to the end of the video. ;) LOL Anyhow, great job and great camera work! :)

    Control burn. Then maintain afterwords.

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  5 років тому

      Control burns are a great method and I have several family members who do it for a living. I have swamp around the area so I don't think a control burn would be too dangerous for this piece of property 👍 thanks for the comment.
