I loved this team. Their defense was amazing all through the middle. Traylor and Washington up front, Urlacher in the middle, and Mike Brown in the back. That's all that was needed.
Those two together were fun to watch. I apologize that I had to edit out some highlights as the video is a little rough. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching the video.
Thank you so much for the comment Aaron. I enjoyed reading it. I apologize because I had to cut out the footage with the Bears vs. the Browns and the footage vs. JAX. But I hope you enjoyed the video. Enjoy the upcoming NFL season.
My first and only Bears game at old Soldier Field was this season for my birthday. It happened to be the Browns game. Needless to say it was the greatest football game i've ever been to and etched in my memory for eternity. at least the last 15 minutes were lol.
That's Browns game was crazy. Butch Davis with CLE had some crazy games. Sorry that I had to edit out a lot the original footage from the Browns game (due to ownership of the clips issues). But that's something else that the Browns games was your first and only Bears game at Soldier Field.
@@90sSportsNostalgia Yeah I lucked out and got a great one and against a historic (albeit refreshed at the time) franchise. Only time there's been back-to-back walk off pick sixes. And don't need to apologize about the editing. You were forced to do it. At least this video still exists.

RW was nice. As a Rams fan back in the day, I needed the Bears to win against DET in 2000 during week 17. If DET won, then the Rams would have gotten into the playoffs and RW had a huge INT return for a TD during that game and that is something I will always remember. Thanks for watching the video and commenting, sorry I could not add in the Hail Mary vs. CLE because of ownership of the video.
@@90sSportsNostalgia I remember the interception against Detroit. He was my high school teammate in both football n basketball. A great athlete. I once saw him have a kickoff return for a touchdown and 3 punt returns for touchdowns in s game we played Bartlesville ok and we won 28-0 all on his returns. Glad to hear others agree with my biased view of him that he was a really good player. His son rylan was a beast in high school as well

That was a FUN season to be a Bears fan. I remember R.W. McQuarters on camera with a sign that said, “Do You STILL Doubt Us?” Something about that sign felt like McQuarters was holding it up for every single Bears fan too! The 2001 team was the last time I can remember people REALLY connecting with a Bears team. That includes the 2006 Super Bowl team, the whole GOOD Rex or BAD Rex thing sorta ruined the fun. I still believe, if not for Hugh Douglas’s dirty hit on QB Jim Miller in the 1st Q, it’s the Bears might’ve won their playoff matchup with the Eagles. Douglas went WAY out of his way to seek out and hit Jim Miller after the QB’s interception, early in the 1st Quarter. Miller was heading to the sideline believing the play was over, when Douglas pursued him from his blind side and knocked the living sh*t out of him. It was uncalled for & VERY unsportsmanlike. Miller seriously injured his right shoulder and was unable to return. Thus, the Bears were stuck with their “serviceable” backup QB, the notoriously streaky, Shane Matthews. The Bears put up a fight, but without Miller at QB the Eagles dominated time of possession and exhausted their defense. The whole thing felt unfair and was a sudden, unceremonious exit for the first promising Bears team in 2 decades. Losing Miller to a dirty hit made it extra painful, like the fanbase as a whole had just been robbed. It was like Charles Martin’s late hit on Jim McMahon all over again… I guess with Miller at the helm, no matter the score, it seemed the Bears were always a play or two away from seizing momentum & taking control of the game… Ah well…it was fun while it lasted. Sorry for the long diatribe, I loved that team and everything about the 2001 season! I hope it shows

Once again, thanks for the comment. 2001 wasn't a great year for me because I was a Rams fan (sorry as I have to say I liked the Rams when they were horrible in the '90s), but anyways the Rams happen to get good and it destroyed me when they lost to NE in the Super Bowl. But thank you so much once again for the comment and sorry that I had to edit out some things as this video isn't as smooth as the other ones.

It was the 2nd luckiest team i ever saw. First, they got a game winning pick 6 vs. the 49ers in a game where jeff garcia's pass somehow got bobbled. And then came the Browns game. Cleveland choked a 21-7 lead in minutes. The bears got a hail mary td, and another mike brown pick 6 in OT. Then, beating the lions by 3 thanks to jason hansen choking. If the bears lost 1 of those 3 games, the packers would win the division. Hell, all the green bay had to do was beat Tennessee, and they'd get the nfc central. Talk about luck
First of all, thank you for the comment and I am sorry that I could not include Brown's second INT due to ownership of the video. Nonetheless, did Brown really say that? I missed that. Thanks a lot for your viewership and your comment.
Very much appreciate your detailed and fun video on the most unique season by any team since the merger, IMO. Incredibly good fortune in the 1999 and 2000 drafts is the biggest reason this season happened, and why something like Bears 2001 is unlikely ever to happen again. Daniel Snyder gave us SIX picks in the '99 draft that he himself got from - who else - Mike Ditka during his Ricky Wiliams stunt, and Mark Hatley (RIP) used those to select Marty Booker, Warrick Holdman, Rosey Colvin, and Jerry Azumah (13 picks total). In 2000, Hatley didn't have as many picks, but picked one HOFer (Urlacher) and another should-be-HOFer (Mike Brown, if not for his injuries), and then the arguably best Mr. Irrelevant ever, safety Mike Green. Jettisoning Cade McNown, one of if not the worst QB in league history given a low minimum of snaps, was probably as helpful as signing both Washington and Traylor (great signings by new GM Jerry Angelo). Bears fans and Chicago media back then agitated for a General Manager (an office unfilled since 1987) like Bears fans now agitate for a franchise QB at any cost. Jerry Angelo was brought in to soothe the unrest, but in hindsight it was Director of Player Personnel Mark Hatley that built the defensive core that powered the 2001 season and the Super Bowl team in 2006 (Urlacher & Brown), and I now believe it should have stayed that way.
Sorry for the late reply. A lot to digest here but I really like the comment. Thanks for the added info. Mark Hatley was pretty good for the Bears as GM. Glad to see you giving him the respect. Sorry I could not put the Mike Brown INT against CLE in the video due to ownership issues with the video.
