@@LobotomyPatient14there it is nostalgia, is a poison. I would argue that most of this are just animated with quick time events. It's not something you can do within the controls.
Yeah, Arkham Batman REALLY stretches the limits of believability, even beyond being able to routinely win fistfights against half a dozen people at once. Batman should be dead here, or at best walk away with grievous injuries; even discounting Deathstroke's experience and strength advantage, Deathstroke has a weapon and all Batman has is his gauntlets. And there's a reason we invented melee weapons; they are far, far superior to fists in hand-to-hand combat.
@@GreyTide512 Sure but, in-universe, this is Batman with ten+ years of prep time vs a Deathstroke who has not advanced his strats or tactics one bit. The outcome is pretty much a given either way.
And this was released in October 2013, a little before both the PlayStation 4 and XBOX ONE were released in November of that year. This is back when developers actually gave a damn and put effort into their games. It's a heartbreaking shame that this game was never remastered for the 8th and 9th-generation PlayStation and XBOX consoles.
No wonder Slade was taken aback by this encounter. Batman, LITERALLY pushed him back with his own sword just by using fists! It's one thing Batman's gloves are can block or deflect Slade's weapons, but to fucking power-on through the edge of a blade with your fist?! That'll put the fear of Bat in anyone.
Every few years ever since i was 12 i would replay the batman Arkham series. Mainly city or origins because i always loved the quests and the story, especially this boss fight. Idk why we never got the option in any of the games to replay boss fights specifically instead of replaying the each time.

Carbon copy? No sir, there are no doubt similarities. But I beat Ra's Al Ghul as a kid. But in this game, Slade was catching me slipping on EASY MODE. Of course I'm way better now and Deathstroke is just a really fun boss now. But he's on a whole nother level
This is one of the best boss fights in the entire Arkham series. Every time I play the game I look forward to it and dread it, at the same time. I think this is why the Deathstroke boss fight in AK was so disappointing…they simply couldn’t top this one.
I feel like through the whole Arkham Series, where the combat always shine on "one vs many" scenarios, this fight represents how perfect it is on a "one vs one", too bad this is the only example of it (i'm looking at you, Arkham Knight)
I prefer to use the claw when he dodge my attacks, avoiding to loose the combo and use the unavoidable attack as soon as possible. He doesn't have the chance to use his own tool.
Can’t believe we didn’t get a fight like this in Arkham Knight. Just a fucking tank battle and then you take out Deathstroke of all DC supervillains with one punch WTF was that Rocksteady?!
Out of all the batman games, this is the only game that I've beaten only once and it was because of this fight with deathstroke, i couldn't get off him for about an hour so i stopped playing for a few weeks, decided to give it another go and got off him 1st time of trying, the rest of the game was easy after that
Gotta. Love that DS is literally just a bitch. Imagine if John Wick was given a super soldier serum and he was told to kill Bruce Lee with hi tech gadgets and the mind of Sherlock Holmes and in exchange, his employers won’t kill his dog, and Wick STILL loses. Deathstroke better stick with the Teen Titans, because he’s not ready to sit at the grown ups table.
As awesome as this fight is, it would’ve been more cooler if you lost at first no matter what, and had to retreat. Then Deathstroke stalks you until you finally are able to beat him. Would help in reinforcing his combat prowess better.
This fight would work better on Arkham Knight. Someone else also shared this same idea and I agreed with it. Transitioning between Predator mode to Combat mode would make for an awesome fight, but it wasn’t even delivered.
Damn man, nice work, this boss is way tougher on hard than on new game plus, and you even disabled the hints, could you tell me how you achieved that? I wish i could disable hints for the whole game, not just new game plus, also i hate that free flow focus upgrade, and wish i could disable it too, the camera and slow motion effect is too silly imo
So wait… the Slade fromt Teen Titans is also Deathstroke? I thought they were different people. I feel so dumb. I always thought they looked similar yea. But I didn’t know they were one person.
This fight does very well to look equal in choreography; even no hit, but the physics of this fight is really silly and utterly destroys the suspension of disbelief. Why does Batman reset the fight to centre stage when clearly Slade has a harder time using a staff against a wall? Could be argued that Batman is trying to take the staff off of him and Slade is merely retaining it but then why would "tactical genius" Batman just do it again? How does Batman lift Deathstroke entirely up and over with thi the staff? His strength would have to be at least double if not triple Deathstroke's to do that, assuming that Slade was resisting. And why wouldn'the? There's no way he's jumping to help Batman here. If Batman could simply snap a (presumably aluminum/steel composite rod, lets assume some miracle carbide) over his knee the way he does, then why was it ever a threat to him in the first place? It looks really good and plays alright but the fight lasts a smidge too long to be mechanically varied (though visually varied enough) and is pretty silly with these wild power spikes by Batman. Inb4 plot armour, he's the god damn batman
I know people always praise this bossfight but having just played origins for the first time this past month, got to say I really don't understand why. Yeah the choreography is certainly cool, but the mechanics feel pretty busted.
