Spoon is the quintessential rock band, you hear elements of every component and every epoch that has come in a very contemporary package. Genius. These guys and the Shins are the newly tenured professors of respectable rock.
GA GA GA GA GA and Transference are two of my favorite albums. Black Like Me and The Myster Zone are my jams
@@dereklewis4321 I've had the pleasure of seeing their live show and, as you can imagine, they're a very tight stage band and they throw everything at you from the early days to the latter days with a lot of emphasis on all of the great stuff from Ga Ga Ga and Transference. See them if you haven't already; keep coming back if you have!

Damn, judging by the band's social media posts I thought we were getting a new studio album this year. But I guess one new Spoon new song is better than no new Spoon songs.
The press release/email from the record label hinted that more new music is coming besides "Bullets"-whether that's later this year or early next, I think think something else is coming down the line.
Britt confirmed in an interview for Stereogum that they are indeed in studio recording a new album but he didn't mention any release date

They have sssssssso many great songs that most people have never heard., they are an incredibly tight band.
Felt like true alternative music when I first heard it, love it!
Oh and that sick drum fill at 1:50. Jim's always so tight but deep down he's a wild man. There's hours of a fills and drum solos on the cutting room floor.

Heather Hull I discovered Spoon with their Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga album, thanks to hearing the songs You Got Yer Cherry Bomb and Underdog on the radio, and have followed them ever since. Each of their subsequent albums have been thoroughly good, from beginning to end. While they’ve never been super mainstream, they’re actually a fairly well known band, having been cranking out quality music since the 90s, and are critical darlings. Seriously, every single release of theirs has been critically hailed by music journalists around the world.
Hopefully their opening for Beck and Cage The Elephant right now will help to boost their stature!

Lucky you Heather, that tour came to Vegas but overpriced venue and frankly I'd rather see them. Austin, TX is home for them and everything is tight and polished. Many said they often stole the show, although Beck is talented Spoon are a hidden gem
