I'm almost 59 and discovered Spoon through "Kill The Moonlight." They have a great eclectic mix of punk,funk,a little bit of soul,and folk;often exceeding their influences."I Turn My Camera On"is the song Prince wished he could have written.
The reason why I love spoon is because they always deliver with something brand new while being strangely familiar. There's just an inexplicable greatness to this song and I've already listened to it like 50 times
Their shows are great too... I saw them a few months after they put out "They Want My Soul", and they already were playing stuff that sounded newer than that. Some of it had an almost dream pop vibe... very looking forward to the new LP

Just found this band for myself and totally love it and how they seem to reinvent themselves from album to album while always having amazing songs that I all love without being the same. Great band
walking through the grocery store here in Edmonton,Canada at 7:15am last week, normally with all the people around the background music is completely inaudible. Seeing as there was only a few I could actually somewhat here the music and I hear something familiar and then the rise at 0:31 kicks in and I spend the next four minutes nodding my head and mouthing the words in the cat litter aisle lol

I got into Spoon and this song in particular because I wrote an acoustic lick at the beach I was going to track, and a girl I was seeing told me it sounded suspiciously close to that clean hook the chorus is built on. And I was flabbergasted; it was too close to this droning descending lick. But as a result, I fell in love with this track.
