Music instructors both at the high school and college level would do well to have you as a guest speaker,... Excellent insight, as you get people thinking.,...That is needed both in the world of music, and the greater world as well. Evergreen sounds great...Thx

Yes! I think about this stuff regularly. I’ve got two kids, a career, a moonlighting job, how can I justify taking extra time out of my remaining sliver of time for music. And for a good ten years I basically put the guitar down. But then the kids got a little older. Work became more stable. Now I can’t imagine not doing musical things as part of my regular life. It will never pay the bills. Only friends and family and a handful of drunk bar patrons will hear me play. But I’m ok with that. I mean, I could watch more tv, right?
Better to play and create meaningful music even if the only one who hears it is my dog (my most loyal fan :). It would certainly be great if some financially benefit came from it and it reached a wide audience. But that’s basically winning the lottery. I’ll just keep doing this for me and maybe it will one day find an audience.
The song continues to be really nice.
    Thanks Jordan!

I really like your way of getting personal, telling us why you do what you do. When I first discovered youtube about 20 years ago there was so much experimentation with this new tool and people vlogin about their personal experience. I appreciate this!❤

Interesting introspections for this Saturday morning. I have far less intentionality in my own music; I really enjoy hearing other perspectives on creativity. I've been following along with your creation of Evergreen. I think the song turned out great!

Brilliant Evergreen at the end there.
Making music is better than not doing it.

Thanks! And I agree, 100%. And sometimes, I like to wonder/muse about **why** it's so much better. Thanks for coming along for that ride!

I totally agree, I still do covers of songs I listened to when I was a kid carrying on tradition, kids of today don't know

For what is worth, I had "Sunday Rites" as an earworm today while wandering the mall. I've also given my first meaningful crack at recording something other than just my voice and my guitar - a cover of a song I know pretty well, which i slapped together in an hour. It sounded truly awful, with miserable timing despite the use of a click track, but it signaled to me that if took my time to focus on good takes over several sessions, I could get something I wouldn't be ashamed of. Baby steps.

This makes me happy... and only partly because of my earworm :) Really glad to hear that you're experimenting with a different recording approach. I know too well what it's like to grimace on playback... but it's a learning process. You'll get there! And along the way, you'll learn something that may feed back into the way you play or write. Good luck!

I get it. I’ve been making music for 30 years almost solely for myself. I do it to do it. Not to be famous.
