Another great episode 👍 Love that quarter chop! Wish I knew how to weld that good. You can run 33s with 2in lift with the right width/offset and not have to do body mount chop and control arms too for anyone wondering 😁
azhoschke I'm running 285/75/16 on 16x8 +10 offset on a 2014 SR no flares. Tyres stick out a bit but if you have an SR5 with flares they'd sit pretty good 👍
Hilux's don't do much for me, but that is an awesome build. You can tell the owner has really put a lot of time & thought into the mods. And petrol 4x4's are still rad!
Another great episode Ronny, thanks for all your hard work. A number of times you suggested your limited experience with DIY fabrication. Maybe you could use this to your advantage and collaborate with a fabrication shop for series of basics of welding/fabrication etc. by doing some simple projects for a fourby? There are a many resources on the internet/ youtube for this content already but very few that put it all together in a package similar to what you have done in past for auto elect/ dual batteries. Cheers
Sorry, what I meant was that you see trucks with the bed racks here in the US very often. You don't see many with the big tray canopies like you do in AUS.
Holy smokes, I have one of those wheels myself lol. Sadly I only have 1 that was for a full size spare for my last truck and it doesn't fit my current Tacoma.... Good wheels though, they seems to hold up real well. Also sick build!
I ran a TRD charger on a 2005 prado. At the time it cost $6500 installed and made a unbelievable difference towing, but caused other issues, like over flexing of the motor in the chassis causing the exhausts to alway break/crack. Overall I would say if you need a supercharger, get a different car.
i do 13l/100km in my 1gr fe prado 120. 2.6 ton on 34s and a 5 inch lift with a manual 5 speed, so its actually 1 of 25 seen in australia as the v6 manual is extremely rare. it means i get better fuel efficiency as ther eis less clutch slipage but i kind of balanced that out with big tires and lift. plus shes sitting on 256hp and 400nm so no slow poke.
Hey ronny hello from tampa fl usa I follow you channel for long time i love Australia i wish i can go one day love the off road i own 2013 jku with lots mods thx for your videos very informative
Sam Peffers yh i just picked one up lol i need some inspiration on how to get some more power. Do spend 4 odd grand to turbo the 2.4 or do i convert it to an ls for 5k. First world problems ahahah
Hey Ronny you showed a clip of them camping with a range rover p38, can you try get this on modified too please or a land rover discovery 1 300tdi? Mega land rover/range rover fan from Perth Scotland UK. Great channel. Wish you could visit the Scotland in the future.
I have been under the impression that carrying petrol jerry cans at the rear of a vehicle was illegal, same as gas bottles. Diesel is allowed but not petrol. This is mainly due to the risk of fire from a rear impact.
Q: LOCKERS. Can they be installed into Hiace AWD 2.8l diesel? I live in Jp, Hiace fits my needs the best (short length and I can sleep inside before hunting). I could use lockers though.
I thought he’d be a sparky!!! The conduit stuff around everything gave it away! Haha. 500km out of a tank with a supercharged v6 on 305 tyres... and a self proclaimed maniac behind the wheel... that’s pretty good. I drive my Fj (same motor not supercharged) like a grandpa and have 285s and don’t get that economy. Not many do.
Ahhhh the joys of the 4.0 V6 engines. I own a 4L hilux on 265's and have thought about throwing in the towel due to the poor fuel economy but its just too damn fun to drive and a weapon on the beach. Its interesting to hear other owners opinions and thoughts on what can be done to improve the fuel economy but at times i wonder if its worth doing all these things and possibly spending thousands just gain what?? 2-3L per 100ks. I just did a 13500k trip and logged my consumption for the whole trip. Fully loaded I and sitting on 110 on the highway I got an average of 16L/100Ks. What do you get out of the FJ and do you know any owners who have done things that make any major improvments?
max dodshon total average over 30000km is 13.3 with 285s lift kit bull bar roof rack all the rest. But I’m rarely loaded and rarely sit on 110. 265 is standard tyres for an Fj. I had all the other mods I do now just standard size tyres. Still mtz though. And it was about 1ltr less. The Fj must be geared better because they don’t seem to be as bad on petrol as hiluxs. But like I said 265 is standard for an Fj so going to 285 isn’t a huge step up. We also have a 3ltr d4d prado. Averages 9 on a good day. After towing an empty car trailer about 30km it’s up to 10.6 😦 the average was reset about 400km before hand. It’s got great power and the low torque is awesome. But I think the offset of buying price and higher servicing, with only slightly better fuel economy, I don’t think there is a clear winner. For me anyway. Maybe diesel by a smidge. As long as nothing goes wrong with it. Lots of Fj owners on the forums go to LPG. but I’m not a fan
Tim Kirkpatrick we havent had a drop in over 2 months mate, now cocksuckers at the council are trying to tell me that we cant burn off,ffs we are in winter!
Hello! Can someone provide the 5 speed manual transmission code that comes with Petrol 1GR-FE Hilux & does the D4D 3.0 diesel come with same transmission or are different? Appreciate any help.
Hi Ronny , In your country you dont have new 2017 Hilux? Or nobody prefers to buy it? i really wanna see some modified new Hilux episodes of your :) Cheers from Turkey
I was just thinking, that looks exactly like an arctic trucks modded hilux.... until i saw their brand name on the side there. :D How much did they drop the diff ratios to cope with those tyres?
Does anyone know if shocks for the 2005 onwards nissan frontier LE would fit on the 2005 onwards nissan navara LE? I want to buy some pro comp es9000 but 4wheelparts only has frontier as a selection vehicle. Thanks
This Ronny Dahl fella seems to have F’ all idea on interview techniques. Great he’s having a crack but far out, I have no idea how he cracked that many subs. I’m gonna have to google this dude.
Huge MT bead and he says “oh are these Mickey Thompson rims?’ Seriously?? Hahahaha, oh I built these sliders in my drive way with a mate, I chopped the tub, made the rear bar, then Ronny “oh do you weld?” Is this guy fucking serious?
So much work just 2 put 33 on it just goes 2 show the old hiluxs are way better with beam axels its got me fucked way they put independent front suspension on the hilux when the landcruzer wth coiled suspension on a front beam axle is far superior and should of been the path that toyota should of taken me personally I would put a beam axle front end in a truck like that over what thy have down it would be just as much work and be far better of road just my opinion
Hey bloke! Love our TRD too! You’ve done a great job on it. … our babies rolled of the line next to each other! We have #583! True story!
"Fridge keeps everything I need"
*Opens it up to show nothing but bush chooks

LoneW0lf11 there was something else said to about the fridge but wasnt allowed on camera haha
Best modified in a while. I love that rear set up.
Beyond Bitumen thanks mate
Very nice TRD, love the sound of the blower, good to see something a little different.
23:24 accurate & I’m a Queenslander who loves a mango. BushChook Export is a terrific drop 👌 Ripper lux a classic Ep Ronny
Another great episode 👍 Love that quarter chop! Wish I knew how to weld that good. You can run 33s with 2in lift with the right width/offset and not have to do body mount chop and control arms too for anyone wondering 😁
what offset and tyre size?
Yeh only if it that hilux has no engine lol gtfo
285/75/16 with 2" lift, 0 or +10 offset does alright, minimal scrub depending on tyre
azhoschke I'm running 285/75/16 on 16x8 +10 offset on a 2014 SR no flares. Tyres stick out a bit but if you have an SR5 with flares they'd sit pretty good 👍
Definitely a patrol man but this Hilux model is sick. Up the supercharged 4L!
yeah bye performance Justin is a legend with his tuning have had all my cars go through him
Hilux's don't do much for me, but that is an awesome build. You can tell the owner has really put a lot of time & thought into the mods. And petrol 4x4's are still rad!
More modified Hilux episodes please
🤑😎
B M agree!
There is enough of them!
Hi Ronny, just stoping by to ask you to please do a modified episode with an fj40! Keep up the great work
wow nice video.. Toyota big fan is HERE.
That's pretty good mileage! Specially untuned with the extra rich factory fuel map

Awesome rig. Looks like every overland style Tacoma in the US! Funny you say in AUS its not seen very often! LOL
Devin Jordan people over here prefer diesel thats why..i dont think these TRD's came out in diesel
Sorry, what I meant was that you see trucks with the bed racks here in the US very often. You don't see many with the big tray canopies like you do in AUS.

a 1gr fe is plenty powerful for any situation. and everyone knows supercharges over stress components and lead to issues.
? i didn't even realize there was a factory supercharged Hilux 😳 That's awesome
Gibbet Hoskins yes, its a beast!
Best episode I’ve seen!
i really envy Australians. They have full access of the best car in the world(Not performance car but the last car after the human extinction)!!!!
Good vid, I like the modified series.
500km to a 75ltr tank supercharged 4ltr v6 on 33’s lifted with all that bar work I call bullshit on that 100% 🤣
My TRD Hilux sits at 10.2L per 100km. Standard Tyre size, 265/65R17 and almost all around town. I know it butt hurt diesel guys to hear it though.
i do 13l/100km in my 1gr fe prado 120. 2.6 ton on 34s and a 5 inch lift with a manual 5 speed, so its actually 1 of 25 seen in australia as the v6 manual is extremely rare. it means i get better fuel efficiency as ther eis less clutch slipage but i kind of balanced that out with big tires and lift. plus shes sitting on 256hp and 400nm so no slow poke.

Hey Ronny what sought of gear ratio did he go to in the diff to make it run more economically, could you find out please, thanks 😁👍
Great video Ronny!! Would love to see some old school 4X4's on the channels maybe a 60series or a ln106?
Ln106 would be ideal, I’m wanting to build one and need inspiration
Sam Peffers yh i just picked one up lol
i need some inspiration on how to get some more power.

You are not dropping 5 grand on lockers on that shit box
Hey Ronny is the transmission temp issues a common problem with the TRD hilux?
I have an 07 4runner, no supercharger for my v8 😡 Great build
Sick👌
I thought he’d be a sparky!!! The conduit stuff around everything gave it away! Haha.
