Your videos are great man. Congrats on being able to do what you love and make a living out of it. It's more than 99% of what people get to do, and you have established a great following, the sky is the limit.
Oh man... I can't WAIT to get my Gen 2 1KZ Hilux Surf running (a very rare thing here in the US) but I would KILL to have the 1KD (and a manual tranny as well... lucky bastards) and a real Hilux in general. Beautiful rig aye. Cheers Ronny, great vid and thanks for taking the time to show us another great rig mate.
Thanks Ronny, Another great video. Can't get enough of these modified videos. Thanks for doing a Hilux. I recon these vids will make you famous one day. People will be saying "You know Ronny Dahl he started off doing those 4wd modified videos, Now he has his own TV show"
live in the different part of the world but still gives me a great idea how to make changes in my tacoma..... thanks ronny..... keep the videos coming.....thanks

Awesome! My dad and I planning on modifying our '90 Montero like this for when we go hunting or camping (even though I really wanted to work on our '94 Land Cruiser..).
I wish we could buy these in the USA. I understand that the EPA makes it difficult for the diesel but I don't understand why we can't, at least, get a 1 ton version of the Tundra or Tacoma.
awesome video Ronny. keep it up. I'm from South Africa and I drive a Hilux DC 4x4. awesome vehicles you guys have in OZ. Great trails and I love those aerial drone shots. I'm a big fan of your channel too. thanks
JUKEBOXX1990 I'd rather have the 4.(something) petrol. the diesels (the only ones we get) are very sluggish and have to work hard all there life they have the little diesels for fuel efficiency that no one cares for
i love the kumho tires road VENTURE m/t 33" THEY ARE AWESOME TIRES i have a 2014 toyota tacoma cre 4WD i just installed a PROCOMP 3" FULL SUSPENTION LIFT WITH ROCOM PRE RUNNER SHOCKS I LOVE HOW THEY RIDE.... '"
Nice rig, noticed on the pic with the old canopy that he had an xrox front bar on there, did he say why he ditched the xrox barwork for the ones he has on now.
I didn't notice but where are you keeping your spare(s)? I'm contemplating modifying a pickup and hate the under bed spare storage. Ultimately I'd like to add a carrier to a rear bumper but am always looking for good alternatives, either permanently or until I can get a bumper attachment purchased. Thanks. By the way...love your Hilux! We can't buy them here in the US.
A lot done to this one! The tub chop looks good actually seems pretty simple too. Any chopping or body lift to fit that width of tyre? Pretty wide for a hilux. Totally agree more people need recovery gear!
I have standard 2011 hilux. Can i beef up shockies front and rear without changing factory leaf and coil springs if no lift required or is better to change springs. I do some 4wd and live on 5 km rough forest gravel road so suspension is getting tied. Advice on this greatly appreciated.
Hi Ronny. Just found this channel, awesome show mate, subbed. Question, would it be good to blank off the EGR? Also whats the offset of those rims to fit 33" ? I drive a 2012 Hilux 3.0D4D. Thanks.
Hey Ronny - thanks for all the vids mate. I wanted to know what main front lights he has on, they are not stock, well not as per the Hilux we have in SA. His appears to have LED running lights and then a different high/low beam cluster. Thanks!
Hi Ronny. Which company would you think to be the best for a turbo power upgrade for 2013 hilux sr5. There are quite a few out there but not sure who does the best upgrade for this.
Lifting trucks really tall is all for show and no performance. 3-4 inches is plenty for a standard off-road suv. I'm sorry but I think they're building better off-roaders in Australia than here in the United States.
Zach Novosad higher lifts after a certain point just means more articulation for the suspension to ensure you have traction and stability, after a certain point the only thing that gives actual lift is the tire itself.
Justin Bechtel Yeah but as an American I'd rather have a lift limit than retarded EPA laws. I'd kill for a 4 banger diesel in a tacoma. 30 mpg with 3 inch lift and 33" tires? Sign me the fuck up!
Hey guys sorry too be a pain but I own a hilux my self. I was just wondering how your hilux goes with the bigger tires because I have 265/75/16 and was thinking of going the 305/70/16 or 305/75/16 weather you have to gear you car down? And do you scrub when you start to flex the front end and do you have to cut any guards if so? Thanks Ronny😊
DobbSnacks bodylift ucas will help but not really needed cam get away with it but i reakon you should if you have the spare coin guard and bodymount chop done professionally by a good Fabricator correct offset rim
My personal experience, the 2016 update is no where near as good as the 05-15. I drive the 2017 for work and it wouldn't have a chance against my 2008 while off road.
+Ronny Dahl (4 Wheeling in W.A.) Do u have some kind of work that's to do with vehicles, specifically 4wd's? With all respect I don't know any guys around your age that could afford a top condition LandCruiser and all the extras you've done. I've learnt a lot from watching your vid's. Keep them coming. Thanks.
+Ross Westmore I used run large crews on construction sites (under my own business) now I have scaled back to point of a one man band with a bit of help here and there so I have time to film and edit for the channel. As a second job I do photography but to be honest I haven't done a photography job for a while now. So these days money is quite low hahaha.
I sent you a PM :-) Thanks for the video. Hilux is a great vehicle - if you can't afford a landcruiser..... Anyway, as for the video : 1) That light bar must make night driving horrible with all the glare. 2) HID lights are over rated, over priced and unreliable. You're better off with a set of standard Hella Rallyé 2000 spread beams with regular bulbs. 3) Clean swags - Interesting.... 4) That engine won't last long with high boost. 5) Roberts locking differentials are the best. I use them in all my 4wd's. 6) Mud tyres are not much good on the bitumen when you need to stop in a hurry.
Mud tires aren't meant for pavement they are meant for mud... Also hid lights are great, never had an issue with mine and they put out a hell of a lot more light while using less energy
5timeswiser My story ? 1) My story is that I call it as I see it. 2) Strange things ? I call it reality, facts and experience. 3) You think I am pathetic. I am not even a subscriber. 7) Yes, I already said Hilux is a great vehicle. 8) Calling me names hurts a lot, 9) If you are offended then don't read my comments. 10) What part of my original comment was not factual, practical and real in your view ?
305/70R16. Is actually a 33x12.01R16. That's why your not hitting, I run 4" monster rides kit all the bells and whistles with real 33x12.5R15, -22 rims and I cut the hell out it and I hit like a bitch.. Love ya tuck thou it hot as bro

Absolutely love this series!

Awesome! My dad and I planning on modifying our '90 Montero like this for when we go hunting or camping (even though I really wanted to work on our '94 Land Cruiser..).
Great fun. Thumbs up.
wicked truck Brad, love the mean mother winch

And this makes me happy!
She has the 4x4 💪 power
Great work boys. Well explained by both of you.
Damn this puts Tacomas to shame with that turbo diesel.
I'm guessing your in the Unites States of the EPA too?

Awesome video. Thanks guys.
Nice rig, noticed on the pic with the old canopy that he had an xrox front bar on there, did he say why he ditched the xrox barwork for the ones he has on now.
o0bananaman0o He preferred the look of the 'Buds Custom bar' and says it gave him better approach angles and clearance to the front.
looks better with the canopy

Just curious to know with these tyres & lift & 0 offset rims, will you get any rubbing on the guards requiring some grinding or modification.
in regards to breathers if you have an auto you have ADD too . also in the hilux the fuel breather is really poorly positioned
Love these videos Ron definitely subscribing👍🏻
thanks +Sam Laird
A lot done to this one! The tub chop looks good actually seems pretty simple too.
Any chopping or body lift to fit that width of tyre? Pretty wide for a hilux.

***** there has been a bit of cutting to fit the 33's, no body lifts are it but.

HILUX POWER💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Hi Ronny. Just found this channel, awesome show mate, subbed. Question, would it be good to blank off the EGR? Also whats the offset of those rims to fit 33" ? I drive a 2012 Hilux 3.0D4D. Thanks.
Thanks Doug, I figured it out after watching it 3x, its 0 offset. Australian accents is hard to catch!
There are quite a few out there but not sure who does the best upgrade for this.
its unfortunate that australia has limits for lifts in your vehicle.
but I hate seeing truck with 6 inch lifts and tires that are way too small for it
you learn to pick your line better when you can't be as high. That being said, you see plenty of patrols and cruisers etc with 5" lift +...
Lifting trucks really tall is all for show and no performance. 3-4 inches is plenty for a standard off-road suv. I'm sorry but I think they're building better off-roaders in Australia than here in the United States.

It's a carry over from the early days, it stands for Sports Rally 5 speed, but these days it's just a trim level like limited, gxl, etc.
I sent you a PM :-)
Thanks for the video. Hilux is a great vehicle - if you can't afford a landcruiser.....

Zach Novosad check the trucks used by ISIS, talibans, Colombian guerrilla, all are Toyota Hilux, maybe there is a reason for that
Buys top dollar wheels and suspension, cheaps out on tyres...
Lone Wanderer Suspension and wheels last a hell of a lot longer than tires.
Just saying he unlikely paid for most of the suspension he said his friend stocks them and wanted him to try them out would of gotten mates rates
Don't just talk about it show us what it do
