- We've now been back in BGC in the Philippines for 10 days and we still don't have an apartment, which means we're still living out of a hotel room. But life could be worse because at least we're holed up in the might-fine Shangri-La The Fort on High Street. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at our daily routine while we continue the search for a permanent home.

ABC are really exceptionally good presenters. They literally sound and look like ABC (no pun intended) TV show presenters. Always enthusiastic, succinct, clear, show a little personality etc. That's why their videos come across as so professional. It's not even the camera quality or anything, but primarily how well they present. Also, their kids are quintessential, witty 90s family sitcom American kids. I feel like I am watching Full House or something. All they need is a laugh track in the background and it feels like a professionally made family travel major network sitcom.
What drew me to yours and MomDuty's channels is how happy and positive your vlogs are. I know you encounter some set backs or things don't go as planned but you still manage to look at the bright side of things. I hope this carries on throughout your journey there in the Philippines

I can’t say that we’ve done anything unusual except we’ve been lucky to have opportunities. Phil owns a marketing agency that he runs remotely so he is always working in addition to what we do for our channel. We have prioritized travel for our family.

check out Century City, Makati, Kalayaan Ave. as a back up. It has condos designed by Versace also Trump Tower and some of the highest residential buildings in Philippines. It has much bigger pool, gym, also much cheaper than BGC but just 3-5 KM away from BGC. good luck

We are filming really close to real time so we are not in our apartment yet. Hoping it will be worked out soon!
I’ve run 16 marathons . It’s going to be more difficult running a marathon in the Philippines because of the heat and humidity . You have to hydrate and pace yourself very smartly . The marathons there start very early in the morning before the sun comes up . Good luck !

15:00 Thats the downside of shopping directly on High Street :/ but a bit outside the prices get slowly better. And by outside I mean, still in walking distance. When you are on Hight Street just keep walking towards east, until you reach some kind of traffic circle and then it says "Market!Market!". They have better/fairer prices, despite being part of BGC district. Maybe there are other places too, but thats what I know from last time I lived there. As you already know SM Aura - it is north of SM Aura.
And if you already know what you want, Lazada and Shopee are worth a try, they are like "Amazon" of the Philippines. Also, those Grab Drivers can pick up things and bring them really fast, if you dont want to go to a place yourself and you need the things faster than online shopping.
We hear a lot about Market Market and Lazada. We will have to go there!
Once you are settled in your new condo, you can visit "Cartimar", just a 30-45 minute cab from BGC depending on the traffic. I think both kids would love the sight of all the pets available there!

Not a bad place to stay actually I was there a month a go with my fam for school break. There is a nice burger joint just around the corner from there, forgot the name but their burgers were some of the best i tasted since moving here. Definitely going back there on the weekends. GL on your new search for your new home.

Try out Breeze Massage on 9th and 32nd. Also try Fitness First at SM Aura. I have been working out there for 1.5 years with coach Eric.
Kerry Sport is nice… but once u LIVE here u wont want to hang out in a hotel with tourists. You will want to hang out with locals.

That gourmet buffet is to die for. Cole is a carbotarian. Good thing you have will power or you'd gain 100 lbs in no time. Gourmet meals, shopping, gym, pool and massage. I'm so jealous! I love the shang (except for the prices) oh well at least you are maximizing the facilities. Btw I lived in the adjoining building, Grand Hamptons, which has the same developer, for a few years, so you picked a great area (it's called Crescent park). Lots of shops nearby. My tip is observe the aircon, in our case we changed the aircons to more energy efficient ones at our expense but the savings were well worth it. Also lots of great options in Bonifacio stopover which is righ across saphire.

Hi Lockwood Fam! We were at Shangrila-at-the-Fort for 4 days from NYE-at-the-5th countdown celebrations. I said Hi to Cole when I saw him at the Bread section on the 2nd day of buffet breakfast back at the High Street Cafe. New Year's day breakfast was at the Grand Ballroom (hotel was 100% capacity). Cole told me to say Hi to the fam, but I didn't want to bother you guys while you were enjoying your breakfast. I saw you again at breakfast the next day. It was really nice to see you guys in person albeit from afar. High Street Cafe Breakfast is one of the best! I'll see you around here in BGC 🤩Come to Uptown Bonifacio! Good luck on your condo hunt.

@@livethephilippines it is not as upscale but still BGC, it's different side. Esp the neighborhood beyond SM Aura, is an eyeopener the contrast made me reflective for awhile. You have to go and find out what I mean.
Hi. Just wanted to say that even though I love your videos, please know that most of your expriences are considered dreams of middle class Filipinos. Wanted to give a perspective, that the condo prices youre looking at, the salon experiences, the restaurants, the hotels, the adventures - typical filipinos cant afford that. BGC is a very very expensive place to live in for us. A 150,000 condo is more than what most of us make in half a year! So yes they are affordable to you, but thats because you arent just earning more than us but you are also probably earning dollars, not pesos. I love y'all and I support your journeys, I just wanted to give a reminder how different it is for the rest of us Filipinos.

The one with the Shake Shack burgers is called Central Square Mall. They have the 4DX cinema which is a very cool experience for the kids a must try! They are showing Aquaman there now.

Hello guys,please visit dinagyang festival here in iloilo this last week of January.
We will be out of town the last week of January, but we plan to go to the mango festival in March!
Go to Market Market (about 10-20 mins walk from Shang), there's a clothes bazaar on the 2nd floor and you can get cheap clothes for about $2 -$3. The also sell gym clothes!
I look forward to trying market market!
