- Two weeks ago, everything was awesome and we had a beautiful BGC apartment locked up. But within a few days, the landlord owner canceled our lease, leaving us empty-handed with just a few days before flying from Denver and moving in. In this episode, we're start the 2-day journey to the Philippines on Christmas Day while working to secure another apartment before we arrive. Will we succeed?

I don't watch a lot of foreigners who stay in the Philippines, but I love watching Always Be Changing because the direction and editing is so professional. I feel like I'm watching a reality show. Even the cliffhangers keep me on my toes--I'm here to find out if they get their condo or will live in a hotel for a while!

Actually we are setting up a second home base in PH until our oldest daughter in Denver goes to college in 18 months. Then we will likely be in PH full time as a home base. But you are right, we will still be traveling but our home life will be in 🇵🇭

Im a Filipina and I’m a flight attendant SFO based for that airline and thanks for being our loyal customer. Watching all ur videos when I’m not flying. Just one tip when you’re flying. Put 1 extra clothes in your carry on bag when flying. Sorry ur checked baggage was misplaced.

Oh, and how is the Shangrila service and amenities given the price? Bgc is such a nice place for staycations. Try the Clark-Subic area sometime. The new Clark has some of the bgc vibe but definitely in the province. Thanks

When you go back to coron please stay at club paradise, your son will love it there, there are so many monitor lizards just roaming around there, and there are also millions of bats that fly before sunset.

You can use a hair blow dryer to quickly dry your clothes. If there isn't one in the room, the hotel will provide one for you. Or drape your clothes over a fan or A/C unit to dry faster.

I visited BGC for the first time a few weeks ago. Took a metered taxi from the airport to Uptown and it cost PHP1100. A Grab from Uptown back to the airport cost less than PHP600.
Oh interesting. We’ve always gotten the lowest prices with meters. But we also heard that if you check grab prices you can show the cab and they will match the price.

We always have a 2 stops over if you want the cheaper flight. These are the possible stop overs; L.A., Guam, South Korea, Tokyo, Seattle, Hawaii and others. About 16 hours travel; more if you go to a lot of stop overs.
They can be really long travel days but we also found that we save so much money on flying round trip from Manila vs Denver

Its cheap to fly to guam from Manila. I was stuck in guam 2 times from the same flight. 1 time aircraft problem and 1 time taal volcano erupted. Got to see all of guam.

What I am learning from this couple is to stay patient and calm through all the chaos. I am a stress head so this is a skill I need to have. 😅
And Phil, maybe next time have extra underwear, socks and a tee or two in your backpack (just in case). I read somewhere bacteria can grow and harm a person when wearing a not completely dry underwear, for example.

Oh by the way, should the parents of the two families going out alone, there is a REALLY nice bar just on the back of the Shangri-La, called "The Back Room". Reservation needed, because it is almost always booked out. Nice interiour, great cocktails, especially with a lot of nostalgia ones. It is one of the "Top 20 Bars in Asia". They have a hidden room there, where you can create your own gin. Like creating a perfume but alcohol instead :) Very fun. I think this is really something for a night for the adults, or maybe just the men?
Is that the place with the red door on High Street? We'll definitely be doing a LOT of adults-only outings, so this would be perfect!
