I just heard it from somewhere but became practice in my life: "When overthinking, write. When underthinking, read."
Good tips. You can take a walk too, and pay attention to your breath...
@@tambaldocarletti I agree with you! Getting to know how hormones work and its impact to my well-being involves those exercises you mentioned. ✨
That's a very good quote you shared with us....Yeah....writing does help, reading too.
Great quote. Took me years to figure that out. Reading gets my brain going if I want it to. Writing is like thinking in slow motion - it helps me shaping and organising an otherwise chaotic stream of consciousness.
Tnx🥺
“My life is full of terrible things… that never happened. “ So relatable.
So relatable😣
Omg! Story of my life
unfortunately, for me, what i had been worried came true. indeed, i should stop worrying things
Story of everyone ...
That quote really hit the nail on the head for me!!
“I've had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.”
― Mark Twain
"My philosophy is that worrying means you suffer twice." - Newt Scamander
Prayers for families in Haiti and Afghanistan.
It is terrible. So much going on it's enough to get anxiety just watching the news, lol.
I was literally overthinking about the Afghanis and I even broke down in tears looking at their condition. And, this turned to worst,as I reaslised, that I could do nothing to help them except to be silent spectator. You see how the overthinking works. I was unable to focus and wanted somehow to not dwell on this matter anymore, but it was just not getting out of my head.
And Sadia's video came as a life savior. I can now try it in a better way and with some new perspectives.
Thank God and Sadia !♡
@@somadhandas1638 so you really care about, but just think about it when its in the news?
Think about the people who are not in the news atm.
Endless Depression.
Would be easier when people are able to help themselve and get stronger as a community.
Like this it will always Stay in chaos and just about time when the next crisis is in the news...
My thoughts, no Front.
@@hanswurst9437 ikr! Easier said than done...we can just sit and worry and continue with our roles of silent spectators.
I wish sometimes I had some clandestinely power in me with which I could solve it.
I am so worried for them and it just keeps on getting worse with the passing time.😭
Amen!
You got me at “worrying about my parents getting old and that i don’t spend much time with them 😞”
Same 😟 my parents live far away 😔
It's the same with me....but when I stay home for too long, say extend my visit home, I start missing my independence and feel wretched 🙃
Same 😔
Thanks for sharing this. A big time over thinker myself, here’s how I combat those monstrous cycles:
1. I usually try to write it down, or go over my notes from happy days in the journal
2. I start moving around. Amygdala feels less threatened when in motion and so we start calming down (taking some action)
3. Cleaning the room
4. Run/short walk outside. Change of space quickly breaks the thought.
5. Drink water. Dehydration works in very devious ways.
6. Eat something. Again, low blood sugar can also trigger a lot of doomsday thoughts.
7. Fresh air. Deep breathing.
One of the best things is to write it down. Sometimes when you look at what you wrote later, you really gain some better perspective on what you were concerned about.
Thank you very much for this advice.
all the suggestions you gave are priceless. I have copied. Thanks
Thanks very much...very good advice!
Hi, thank you very much for sharing this list :)
Wowww I love this comment section or this community. Everyone is giving their own advices and sharing their experiences which are truly inspiring and helpful to me and to others. Thanks everyone! Grateful for Sadia's work and for people like you guys! 🥰✨
Being someone who is clinically diagnosed for severe anxiety, I gotta say literally "sitting" with the thoughts of dark clouds and watching the wave come and go has really helped me.
You have no idea how much this video means to many of us, soo much to be grateful for you Sadia 🌈
Thanks so much, Aleena 🌼
This is the absolute best thing you can do. It teaches the lizard part of your brain (the part that creates the anxious response) that you’re not under threat, and eventually it gets better. And it’s a great skill to have either way, because we all experience anxiety sometimes.
There is also medication and herbal types of supplements to help as well.
@@skywalker6648 really can you explain please
@@ishmaelwatson1278 can you be more specific with what you want me to explain?
She is that big sister everyone needs. 🥰🥰
Ikr ❤️
Cried while watching this because you put so beautifully into words exactly how I’ve been feeling this past year and a half, and it’s such a relief to know I’m not alone. I get so caught up in hypothetical situations and trying to control the uncontrollable that I take it out on other people and myself, it’s such a destructive cycle but I don’t know how to stop. 😔
Watch doctor Jud videos he explains very well that cicle and how to stop it ua-cam.com/users/DrJudfeatured
💛✨💫🙏😇
Overthinking used to leave me in knots. Nowadays I release my thoughts in my head by journaling.
I write everything down and I realise everything that I cannot control. By focusing on the here and now, breathe work and myself. Doing this I can cope with things better.
You don't even know how much I have missed these talks of yours and these type of vlogs Sadia... Much love to you 💜
💛
@@PickUpLimes Very glad they're back as well :)
I totally agree :)
Yes please continue these!!
YEESSS!!!
This topic reminds me of the Serenity Prayer written by Reinhold Niebuhr:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.
Thank you
Wonderful words!!!!
That’s is very nice! Thank you 🙏
My all time FAV!!!
I love this❤
Whenever worry creeps in, i always remember these words from the Bible Matthew 6:34 'Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. "
I'd love it if you had a podcast ♥ You are so pleasant and inspiring to listen to
yes! pleasant to watch and listen to. please start a podcast!!
Yes, please! We would like a PUL podcast, please!
I'm begging for a podcast! She is so calming and inspiring!!

Hi , I love you pick up limes .
I tend to overthink since this pandemic happen.
And still fighting to stop overthinking and worrying things i can’t control.
Thank you for this another tea time tuesday☕️☕️
It gave me the idea to separate the things i can control vs the things i can’t.
thank you PUL FAM.💚
I am also an over thinker and a worrier. When I have a hard time sleeping because of it I pray and I listen to instrumental classical music. This help me most of the time.
Thanks Sadia! I keep rewatching this as I am an overthinker as well and sometimes I need a reminder. I think one of the reasons why we overthink may be because we have not grieved our past. We have to learn that just because something happened in our past does not mean it will happen again - however we fear it might do and imagine even worse case scenarios. Externalising it, even through crying, does help us grieve our painful past experiences and look at our future with excitement rather than fear/worry.
I had a friend that told me my overthinking was a form of not being able to cope with lack of control.
When I'm able to accept my lack of control in all these areas, I'd stop worrying
This.
How did you know I needed this right now? 😆 Thank you so much for bringing a piece of calm and serenity into the world
Ik word altijd zo heerlijk rustig van jouw video's... De editing, muziek, jouw rustige stem... heel mooi!
I really enjoy your videos and the honest way you talk about everything.
The way that I deal with overthinking and worrying is by praying, reading the bible and putting my trust in God's promises, because I have understood that when I'm not in control, He is. One of my favorite verse is in Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". Greeting from Chile, a long, narrow strip of land :)
I'm sending you and your parents and siblings a big hug Sadia, I know it hasn't't been the calmest these last few days so sending you guys so much love!
Thanks so much, Charlie 💛
I've heard about that as well. I guess the world has by now!
As an over-thinker myself, I soo get this.
Putting things on paper really helps me distance myself from those thoughts and look at it from a different perspective.
Another thing that helps me is to ask myself "What is the one things I can do to make it better?" And take one step towards resolving it.
And you're right about how taking action helps you worry less 🤩
Really loved this video Sadia ❤️
Oh I love that, thanks for sharing, Sadhana!
@@PickUpLimes 🤗
Writing things down and meditation really helped me!
When I overthink I talk to my mind in the third person. “Hello mind, I recognize your concerns, but it’s time to listen to the heart.” Then I try to settle in to deep breath and repeat. Be kind and recognize the thoughts, like Sadia said, there was and still is a purpose for worrying (motivation, safety, etc..)
If they are not useful, Question where they can from? Who is saying them? And then put them to the truth test. Don’t get upset or frustrated that “I can’t “stop thinking”, simply return to the breath and heart sensation :)
Prayer always helps me take my mind off myself and helps me refocus on others and the collective. Audiobooks like The alchemist, The Book of Joy, and the 4 agreements are saviors in times I can’t sleep.
Worrying does not solve tomorrow’s problems, it takes away today’s peace. Love these introspective videos.
Having a anxiety attack at work in front of a client today. This is exactly what I needed to hear. I am taking a moment, finding therapy and wonderful videos like this one show up to help at the perfect time.Thank you
I really appreciate hearing that other people struggle with overthinking in the same way I do. One of my big repeating worries is that something is off with me because I get stuck in these thought loops. 🖤
I am a huge overthinker and it takes up most of my energy I really hate it
Loved this video Sadia, really needed it right now. I'm also loving to see everyone's comments on what helps them, this community is so warm and helpful
You are correct people worry too much about things that might happen and stress themselves to a point of a panic attack.
Could i say how much of a multi-talented person you are.❤️
I love it when you cook,
I love it when you beautifully capture it,
I love it when you give Tea Time Tuesdays.
I love it when you Vlog your travels.
I love it when you talk about nutrition.
I love it when you talk about anything.
Because you are always creating value to your subscribers 💯❤️.

With everything going on in my country Afghanistan this video came just in time ❤️
Zahra I wish I knew of something I could say that will comfort you, just know that so many people are thinking of you all at this time and whatever religion we might follow I know that so many people are praying for you. Lots of Love Zahra 💝

The most eloquent and helpful talk I have ever heard, thank for this hoping dose ❤️❤️
"How To Stop Worrying and Start Living" book by Dale Carnegie been is a great resource!
Oh and I don't know if this is a tip but I am also an overthinker and I say to myself when stressed out -> "You know Alice, life is so so so so so short so is this really necessary to worry so much about this?" (usually I sweat up the small things). Big hugs!

I can so relate. Grateful you posted this. It's a good feeling that their is a community of us who think like this as well.
i love that you're talking about mental health & giving tips on it so openly!
It's like you were listening to my thoughts! I really needed this.
One thing that I find helpful is that I think about the past. Things that I have overcome before and how I remember I was overthinking about that very problem. And then I tell myself that this is something manageable too. I don’t know if this applies to a lot of people, this is something that kinda helped me ❤️
I can relate.
I was watching a movie the other day in which one of the characters said, "And this too shall pass". It's also a good reminder that we will get through difficult times.
Thank u Preethi it works
This video is exactly something that I needed at my current state of mind...
Mine too ,and I was not like this , its only after marriage I became so , may be because it was then only I was exposed to real world and no well wishers
I love how you put into words things that I have in my head and for me are so difficult to express. Thanks for this video ❤️
One book that really helped me handle worrying and anxiety in my life is "the happiness trap", it helped me soooo much. It has actual exercises and tips to accept your feelings and so deal with them in a much more efficient manner. Great choice of background music by the way! Loved the video as always ❤️
I have that same book by Russ Harris, 'The Happiness Trap'. It was recommended to me by my CBT Therapist. I still read chapters from time to time, it's a constant on my bedside table.
I'm on it! Thank you for the recommendation. :)
where can I get it ?
@@lailakhan9410 you can buy this book in any book shop or Amazon.

"There are more things that frighten us than injure us. We suffer more in imagination than in reality." Thank you so much for sharing these tips! I have severe OCD and intrusive thinking that really weighs on me from day-to-day. This helps so much. Thank you, Sadia!
Love this!!! I needed this right now, thank you so much for being brave to talk about it and just put it all out there 💕
I learned that by worrying you don’t add a single day to your life but also, it doesn’t help you solve the problem. Let things handle themselves, they always will. And then we find out we worried for nothing😀
I’ve been praying for some sort of sign to keep on working on myself. This felt like a page from my brain! I am a huge over thinker to the point where it induces insomnia. When I start to feel like a sink full of water that is never ending, I simply say “let it go, tomorrow is a new day, we can conquer it then”. Praying for everyone’s emotional health and growth ❤️
Wish I could hug you through this screen because you're soo helpful. Thank you!
This came just in time. We need more tea time tuesdays. Feels like just made for us to explore ourselves and then resolve in deep inside. Love to PUL.
This was so relatable (and right on time). I feel like there’s so much more to worry about now days, but I try to focus on the positive.
Hello! Sadia we need more tea time Tuesdays like before! Enjoyed watching this video😁
The mindset that we can resolve everything makes one anxious.
Trusting one deity that controls the universe has helped me shed some worries off.
Also, doing things with excellence and not perfection is what my faith has taught me and I try to adhere to it. It has helped me a LOT.
Loved this. I can relate so much. Thank you for addressing this, Sadia ❤️
You’re amazing and inspiring! Thank you for always sharing relatable and perfectly curated content! I discovered your channel earlier this week and have resonated with so many of your videos! And have been inspired by your vegan cooking videos !!!!
Wow!! This video literally summed me up!! I’m so relieved to hear I’m not the only one like this and since I am huge fan of yours it makes you that much more relatable!! Thanks for this!
Thank you for this! I’m starting at a new school soon and I’ve been so nervous. Just hearing you talk really calmed me down
Thank you so much for this! Grateful for a Teatime Tuesday and providing a space to learn and grow ❤️.
So comforting to hear how you deal with this, makes me feel less alone! So many people come across like they've got it all sorted, especially on UA-cam. I've literally been sitting in my room for days doing exactly what you're talking about. Thank you for being so real and relatable!!!
I’ve been on a journey recently of overcoming my anxiety, this really came at a great time. Learning about the science of anxiety helps so much
How is it possible that 94 people didn’t like this video? It was awesome, thanks for the advice, if you can’t change something why worry about it? Looking forward to more videos like this one.
I have loved your channel for some years now. The small shifts you make on your channel are so appropiate and wanted to thank you for this and the advice. All the best and cheers from Panama!
The timing is just perfect! Thank you so much for posting this ❤️ sending so much love to you and your loved ones 🥰
Really wanted this as I'm devastated with anxiety for a long time and this made my mind lighter. Thank you soo much Sadia, Love you❤️ You inspired me to stay vegan and this time to find my inner peace.
So relatable..writing down or sharing with someone makes me feel better too❤️
Thank you so much for putting some of these feelings into easy to comprehend analogy’s. I also suffer with PPD, anxiety and general over thinking. It’s helpful to hear these things put into perspective 😊 x
being a person who has anxiety disorder and depression this made me so relaxed and calm
Such perfect timing, thank you so much, Sadia! I really enjoy these Tea Time Tuesdays.
I am watching this before an extremely scary job interview. Since the beginning of the video my bpm went from 137 to 98. Thank you.
Relatable and helpful. Can’t get enough of this kind of stuff. Thank you.
This came at a time where I've been really working to understand and control my worrying. Thank you so much for the advice.
Also, didn't know you were from Canada! That's neat to learn!
Thank you for putting this up, for being raw and real. Your videos are beyond calming than you know ❤️
I honestly overthink so much and I think it ties back to anxiety so walking and hiking helps
Yes!! Hypothetical situations. Overthinking is something I'm trying to deal with daily. Thanks for covering this
Thanks for sharing that Sadia. You come across as someone who is so ‘sorted’ and yet you have these moments too. Im living in perpetual anxiety so it’s good to hear your take on this.
The way you explain and break down concepts while soothing all anxious thoughts that even my adhd brain calms down and concentrates fully for the length of the video is magic. I love this type of talk videos💗. I still replay the confidence one every time I begin to get anxious or worked up. Thank you.
I love this series :) Thank you so much for creating them. I have gone back to several of these videos, time and again and have always returned with clarity and confidence to push through. We need more tea-time tuesday videos, Sadia and rest of the PUL team!
She is the most authentic women I have seen on UA-cam. Listening to her feels like she really sits in front of me and talking to me. ❤
Thank you. This is just what I needed. I am also an overthinker, especially these days. Even though watching this video didn't solve anything; it reminded me to enjoy life in the present. I don't necessarily have a strategy but I do take breaks from the things that make me worry and overthink. This helps keep my emotions in check and create more realistic thoughts.
You know, I’ve always wanted an older and wiser sister and through your Tea Time Tuesdays, I feel like it is the closet thing to having that!
Thank you thank you and thank you! 💗

Love you girl!
Writing things down helps me a lot too!
I’m also a practicing Muslim, I feel praying & seeking for mental peace from allah helps me too!
Ah so you believe in God’s existence?
So so so relatable. Thank you!! I find my overthinking is linked to a conflict between what I think I should do and what I actually want to do. It's a process of letting go of others' expectations and leading a more intentional, reflective life! 😌
I found this exactly when I needed it. I was looking at your meal prep videos because I’m returning to work next week after being off for a year for maternity leave. I’ve been overthinking way too much about how the transition back is going to go, and I’ve just been really down in the dumps.
Going to work hard to get organized, follow some of your yummy meal prep ideas, and just journal and reflect and just take things one day at a time ☺️
That last shot was pure beauty! 🌊
I'm so happy you brought Teatime Tuesday back 🤗 everything you said is so relatable to me. Thank you for your wonderful advice. 💞
Its such a wonderful thing to see how much we are all alike as people, winding our way through this wild world, and even the webs of our own minds. ♡

Oh my God !!!! The hypothetical situations 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 So accurate.
