    God I miss those days, I had a GT pro performer, my friends and I used to do local small shows for businesses ( grand openings) every trick we did was attempt to be like the legends of the time. Eddie Fiola, Mike Dominguez, R.L. Osborne. Those were the times of our lives... and we knew it.. The 80s, wonderful memories indeed..

    Met Eddie last weekend. Still in awe. Dude was my hero growing up in freestyle. Check off the bucket list.

    Eddie is showmanship personified, to this day. Awesome to finally see this run, I remember the picture shot when he was doing the one footed backwards nose wheelie standing on the rear standers, always loved the whole gear and set up in this particular routine. For the naysayers, keep in mind this is a skatepark/ramp rider, doing an almost flawless and entertaining flatland run for a whole five minutes, with a freewheel no less, and things start taking another perspective. Thanks for sharing.

    this man was one of a kind i was a hutch guy back then but loved gt and Eddie all the same he was truly exciting an entertaining to watch he was and is the total freestyle package no one can really knock him he was there in the begining and is still around now nothing would have evolved without Eddie Fiola.........

    people get their rocks off by dissing legends and greats such as sports,music,tv,ect..they dont understand EVERYTHING starts somewhere. AND if it had not been for people like Eddie where would we be? He did tons for the sport and still does..Im actually getting to meet him tomorrow here in Las Vegas..and cant wait..

    I beg to differ...Eddie DID have a signature bike in 1985. It was the "Eddie Fiola World Tour" version of the GT's Pro Performer freestyle bike. Aside from Bob Haro (or possibly RL Osborne as his dad owned Redline), he may have been the first freestyle rider to have a signature model..

    Damn. That was a trip down memory lane. I haven’t heard the name Eddie Fiola in 30 years. The tricks weren’t crazy like today but they were smooth and he did 100 of them. And with brakes that sucked. Those diacomp caliper brakes never worked as intended. Eddie fiola was my Michael Jordan.

    Go check BMX history. If there was no Eddie Fiola, there would be no Matt Hoffman, Dave Mirra or any current riders. I appreciate that you were only 5, but still, show a little respect and find out about the man they called "The flying Bananna". The man is an absolute legend. Do you know who Bob Haro is?

    Oldschool bmx freestyle is real bmx this new stuff is not bmx the stuff from the past is the real real in bmx im bringing it back to its roots all the skateboarding teams are making all the old gear i think bmx would be way better going back to the original roots.

    Nobody really understand that this type of bmx should always be standard in bmx in the style of gear the music everything that bmx doesent have anymore like bmx bandits or rl Osborne bob haro or the bmx movie rad its not a fad its a standard that should of never been take out of bmx,bmx as far as im Concerned should of stated this way in its rad hay day new bmx doesent apeal to me at all because it isent rad like the original way the sport looked it had a rad attude.

  • @nowherebrain
    @nowherebrain 2 роки тому

    he was so lazy, never progressed did the same stuff for years.......even in 86 most of these tricks were kinda basic. DMC was already doing whiplashes back then and I think RL was doing backyards or maybe that was in 87?? Then he tried to make a comeback after a few years of not riding..RL had his hammer gear out and eddie was doing magazine ads for some folding bike or something...never the less he tried to come back...and he did the same tricks....yet again. I don't know him personally, might be a great guy...but a less than average rider...even then.

    • @johnheeser
      @johnheeser 2 роки тому

      He wasn't lazy, he did alot of progress, he started do stunts on motorcycles, cars and jumping off of buildings in movies, he became a professional stuntman, he worked for the greatest stuntman and stunt coordinator ever, a man by the name of Hal Needham

    • @nowherebrain
      @nowherebrain 2 роки тому

      @@johnheeser lol, not back in the 80's..I'm reffering to back when he was young and doing freestyle...he is quite accomplished now and in his later years.
