- I was lucky enough to attend this event again this year. I have to say, it gets bigger and better every year! Lots of oldschool and newschool pros, tons of bikes, and a great atmosphere.

I could watch this over and over

The best sport in the history of the universe
Yup. ;)
Yeh the best off the best
Brings me back to the 80’s! Some of the best years to have grown up in. Those of us who lived this are the last of the “be home before the street lights come on” generation. Good times!
Exactly this. I was trying to explain this to someone over the weekend. Times like those are lost forever. Young'uns today will never have those experiences and freedoms.
Enjoyed watching this. Would be nice to list their names. Thanks for sharing. Joe
im a 12 year old kid and this stuff is amazing , i have to tell my friends about freestyle
Keep in mind.. most of the guys in this video are age 40 +
Can't believe how long ago the 80s were and how much our sport has changed. I remember racing New Jersey state series and the track there's nothing like they are now. Dirt jumps , table tops, whoopty doo doos, and burms. Ant hills, step-ups, I remember the New Jersey state series in 1983 in Lawrenceville the state championship winning the 16 expert and 16 24 cruiser was was the highlight of my young life. I still have the number plates. Now they are in the Olympics. My how are sport changed, the things these kids do now, just absolutely unbelievable. When a table top was a great trick. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to participate in such a fantastic sport. And watch through the years how it changed. Long ago are the 80s. Rest in peace
I would like to see Dew Tour or X games honor the old school guys in some way. Cause they are the ones who paved the way for so many riders today.
I couldn't agree more!
100% agree definetly these guys paved the way..
Especially guys like Dave Voelker who’s style from the 80’s is still prevalent today!
No doubt agreed! Hey guys, old school rider here. Please help a brotha out and Subscribe to my channel! Riding old school tricks and learnin more each season here on my Haro retro Masters!
This is an awesome video thanks for posting. The entire thing is great, but seeing Eddie and Woody doing the flatland together had me grinning ear to ear. Nice to see Martin again, can't mistake that smile. I saw a forum post by the owner of the Orange GT recently. It was autographed by Eddie and Martin that day, and a short time later the owners 1 yr old boy got a permanent marker and added his own sig. over the top of them...
Dave Voelker is rocking all the back flips him and Dennis are the old school guys that rode competitively most recent
All so sweet! The old school bikes, the colors, the tricks....I need to go back to 87!
Love those bikes didn't notice bill allen at first remember him from the 1986 bmx movie rad👍👍
dude that moonwalk at 1:33 is fuckin slick.
Does that dude have grey hair? That makes my day....
Sydaball dude at least he’s got hair! Old boys still know how to rock a BMX!
Woody Itson, I believe. OG Hutch flatland pioneer.
Wow I loved this
The good ol days!!!!
Eddie Fiola. 80's freestyle legend. Used to ride for GT.
I begged and begged and finally got dropped off at a GT EVENT in South Windsor, CT on RT. 5 1988!. A seriously cool Hawaiian dude rode quarter pipe, flatlanded, and entertained us while Eddie Fiola was just end-oing and rolling back off the quarter pipe. Once it started, Eddie did an x-up and a fakie and bailed. The other dude busted his butt with a 360 (most couldn't land a 540 but he had to land and roll a fakie) , Super chicken, etc. Dude was hands down better than Eddie, and he handed me a pair of those super sweet Odi Mushroom grips. Kindest guy ever. God bless all BMXers, and especially that dude.
Yep, that's Dave Voelker. Crazy as ever on a bike.. even in his 40's!
great video mate
These Guys are amazing Eddie Fiola Ron Wilkerson you rock
lee edwards don’t forget Arapjo
Nice, i just remember in my time, Dennis McCoy, Dave Mira, Mike Dominguez! and the music so intense but at the same time nostalgia...
I'm 45, I'm refurbishing my 80's Freestyle bike. Can't wait to get back on it!
They do this every year the first weekend of June. I think this year they're holding it in Bellflower, CA.
Love it ...grew up watching these guys at shows and worked hard to be like them...love showing the younger generation what u can do ,regardless of your age ...when u put in the work
thanks. I enjoy watching my childhood heroes very much!!
Dave voelker was one of my favorite riders , loved watching him through the 90s and in to the early 2000s GT voelker metal issue bike was a brilliant solid bike, one of my favorite that I ever owned.
Oh these were such fine days, hangin out on the street with your friends trying tricks till you had to be home... these tricks are so awesome.
Lots of BMX DNA right there. The music was killin me and wish I knew who was who while riding. But still RAD.
Thanks for the video. WOW WOW... Now thats oldschool . I grew up in the 80's
Brings back old memories of my brother ,and I doing that same tricks
Brings back the old days when I rode. Great to see all the Rad bikes from back in the day as well as the riders. I'll have to bust mine out once winter is over .
Martin hadnt been at any of the recent events, so it was very cool to see him there. He was messing around on someone's bike, and you could tell he probably hadn't ridden regularly, but you could also tell it was all coming back to him quickly. I hope that motivated him to get back into it and maybe he'll show up again next year!
these boys have still got it
Fuck....I'm only just seeing this now! So good to see my fav heros still being Rad!
Eddie Fiola my bmx hero!!! THX that's a jewel!!
1:33 cleanest trick in this whole video
SICK!!!!!! Fair play to those guys
Is that Dave Voelker at 2:25? Great rider...I saw him flying over my head in México city back in 1990.
I never like the terms "old school...mid school...new school". School never let out. The bell never rang. It doesn't stop.
Woody and Martin were the reason I got into freestyle. Legends
@haro82 Nice, why wasn't Martin doing fltaland? Or did he at all off camera? That would have been great to see him on that GT he held.
Awesome video.... I too am stuck in the 80s/90s. LoL I still have my unique riding style because of growing up in the beginning of BMX and still riding now... I always win at BIKE because I have weird "old-school" tricks. 😉😁
I just might have to blow the dust off the 20" in the attic after watching that!
Thanks for posting
@haro82 Cool, I hope he gets back into it. I am 36 and still going strong! He was one of my idols in the 80's, along with Moliterno, McCoy, Itson, Nourie, and all the others. I had my 88 Master since it came out and am not restoring a GT Performer to day glo to look like Martin's did. Would be great if he came back strong or did some exhibitions. I hope you tape it all. I loved the Haro reunion but can't find much footage on it. I seen like 2 videos.
Brings my childhood flooding back into focus...’these guys are nothing less than PIONEERS” of everything BMX. They should’ve been paying tribute to them at every XGAMES event, for w/o them there would be none!!
Peace from the 80's/90's Original Dyno GT and Original PK Ripper, great to see it still going strong.
Great riding!
Sure did.. Fiola is doing big time stunt work in Hollywood, Woody is still involved in bmx managing a team.. Voelker is still doing bmx full time I believe doing stunt shows.. You should come on out to the next one next year.
where is this held at??
@haro82 Will the Haro show be televised at all or on that same live stream channel as last time? I forget the name of the site. I hope somebody tapes it all. But yeah they should do a show every year now because who knows how much longer they can go.
Awesome 👌
Cru Jones even showed up! RAD!
Wow I wanna go back to the 80's. Great video!
That jump at 2:10 into a fakie....WOW!! Many very good riders today do not immediately attempt some of these moves. These guys invented this stuff...and there's just not much new under the sun. They wrote the book...literally. And it's very hard to do any better even today.
Woody Itson was Michael Jordan to me as a kid. This made me so happy
A backflip on a halfpipe???? NARLY DUDE!!!
I remember drooling over the 80's freestyle bikes at the local bike shop. I'll take a show like this over X Games anyday!!!!
Nice to see the simplicity before the PlayStation generation 👌
we were the Atari generation ;) It hasn't changed much.
Wish I had friends like these to chill with
Badass!
from start to finish some awesome freestyle, love the trick at 1:33
I miss my GT Performer in shocking pink and white Skyway rims!
Freaking legends!
Pegs, rotors ...kids today don't think brakes and rotors (Gyro or ACS) are of value. Excuse me, whipper-snappers, those calipers are highly important. Geez.
I’m 43 and I can’t ride flatland with brakes…
Is it just me or did I just see bill allen(cru Jones) at the end of the video lol
Yep. That's him. He was hugely instrumental in popularizing freestyle too.
@haro82 That is great. I love Dave and I wish all of the Haro team would get back together, especially the later one like Moliterno, Hoffman, and McCoy etc.
I got into bmx when it first came to England in about 1980-81 ,loved it as soon as I saw it on TV showing Bob Haro, I,m 51 now but still love watching it,I,d love to get an old school bmx again,I had a Torker pro x
I'm a bit younger, few yrs. Just picked up a refurbd 1984 bike, arrived today, it is an amazing reminder of a time gone. And it still fits!
There was a freestyler back in the 90s who I idolized. Joe Johnson, anybody know what happened to him?
nothing beats da old skool.. others are still ahead👍👊🙂
I love you. You. Guays
I had to hit the fucking MUTE button.
@sirbrad4 If I go, I'll be sure to get footage! I know Dave Nourie is putting together another Haro reunion show (25th anniversary) in August out in Oregon. I'm trying to set up a show here on the east coast sometime this year. Yeah I'm hoping Martin has gotten back into it too. He was always one of my favorite riders for sure.
Damn these old men are good
those old men can still kick any newbies ass 4 sure
still kicking myself in the ass for giving my GT to a 10 year old kid to left it sit outside to be stolen the very next day I gave it to him. knowing now how much $ it's worth.
I really don't like fiola...always seemed like kinda an ego without ever learning anything new...even when he tried to make a comeback...a lot of these guys just kinda froze in time and stopped being creative...the opposite of "freestyle". I get it...we all get old and rigid, but most of us have the sense, to stop trying to be so relevant.
Is that Voelker?
Please let me. Know. The. Name. Of. The. Frame. From. The. Bike. Of. Minute 3:25. It's a. Black. One. Whit. Chrome. Rims. And. Black. Tires. Please anyone ?
the godfather eddie fiola
oh wow the dude from RAD
Didn’t know Tom Cruz bmx
I know this is an old video but anyone remember who the guy with the black and white tires was?
Dave Voelker.
@@haro82 OH snap, he was still kicking ass then, nice.
@@Valdarious Yep, he absolutely was. I was surprised. He was always one of those guys that just went for it and went big. If he were younger and competing now, I have no doubt he'd be at the top.
Just another level
Super
LOVE this video! Liked and favorited!
Watching these guys as a kid is made me fall in love with bmx freestyle
1:35 - 1:38 was AWESOME
I havent road my bike n 16 years so i got a bike dli used ride front n back breaks well i got on bike with only rear brakes i try to do a nose manual to whiplash n i busted my ass so hard hit my elbow n wrist to brace my self like a dumbass didnt break anything but i was sore lmao but man i will get the moves back with practice
Que pena que aqui no Brasil ninguém liga mais pra essa modalidade
A big thank you for posting this. Recently got back into freestyle, this was great to watch
There's too much elitism and gatekeeping these days, look at how much fun everyone was having.
Loved those old school SE Quadangles and PK Rippers back in the day!!!!!
That was crazy
non of em got their old bikes thou....i been trying to see what they're riding but they appear to be mid school era bikes
None other than Eddie Fiola.
Bmx would not be where it is without these guys. They represent so well 💯🚲
