Especially lucky if they give you a rare Creep performance...I saw them in Pittsburgh a couple years ago. Didn't expect Creep but they did play Let Down which is my favorite song by them.

Best live version of this I've ever seen. The crowd is amazing, truly part of the band. Thom's two-part howl on "ruuuuuun" near the end is sublime.
God his voice is impressive

+sinternettv V Festival is shit. They occasionally have a great headliner like Radiohead or Kasabian, but it's mostly full of chavs watching terrible pop groups.

I remember being there at the time. First half or so of the set was great but by Radiohead standards nothing unusual - crowd were hooked but Radiohead crowds are always hooked. Somewhere in the middle - can't recall the exact point, things just went another level. Certainly by the time they played Lucky it was electric to a degree I'd never experienced before and only once or twice from any band since.
At the time Radiohead were just coming out of their "we're sick of people only coming for our big songs|" phrase, but Creep was still elusive. It was definitely on the cards as a 2nd encore all year, but this was about their 8th festival of the year and it hadn't been played. I think they only made the final call on actually playing it here at the last moment after how well the show went.

I love this song ! Thank-you Radiohead! Thomas Yorke🎤 put so much feeling into the song, you feel it and get chills. Johnny accentuates this with his guitar .⚡🎸

I was fortunate enough to see this show. It was astonishing from start to finish.
Shit what a spectacularly epic performance. Faaaacccckkkk. I’m pretty sure Thom actually got into it. Potentially showed his human side...he def did get a bit teared up at the ending. After the last “run” his face scrunches uncharacteristically and he tears up at “whatever makes you happy”. Also you know Thom is seriously into it when he takes out those ear buds lol
I think the power and passion of that crowd is what did it.

I was there for this. What a day that was. Beck, bloc party, Keane, divine comedy. I stayed at the main stage in Chelmsford all day. Radiohead were AMAZING!

my wife and i were at the very back of that crowd, we had just watched the mighty Kasabian and their set had finished, as we walked back to our tent the intro started, such great timing.

@@ash83 not at all, Kasabian are one of the greatest bands I've ever seen live, I've been going to gigs since around 84, seen the who, the stones pink floyd and many many more.

The stone I saw was 90, steel wheels tour, they weren't at their best that's very true.

I saw Radiohead three times.. All in my hometown.. One of the last great bands.. each time on the eve of the tours on release of new albums.. (First was 'The Bends' ~ Massively underrated album) Out of interest.. Thom Yorke told of the influence of Queen.. (As has Matt Bellamy of Muse) ~ Queen, being, of course, another of the last great bands..
