+Nick Bland Creep was good for Radiohead until they had to play the song over and over and over again. They have come to hate this song and rarely perform it. I can understand why they wouldn't want to play it live. They hate it. I like it but I don't like the toll it took on Radiohead.
+Nick Bland well it's not like normal people love the song... if you really love this, it's not likely your other favorite song is justin bieber's "baby".
They don't. I saw them at Glastonbury recently, and everyone went mad for 'Creep'. Don't try to speak on behalf of all Radiohead fans because that's just pretentious and annoying.
Radiohead has taken their place alongside the immortals of rock 'n roll music-- The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, The Who, Pink Floyd, U2, Nirvana, etc. Count yourself lucky that you're around to witness them.

they hate it more than creep. in fact, they lightened on creep but will probably never lighten up on high and dry. i'm more pissed off at them not playing electioneering tbh.
I just watched a live version of Creep from 1994, and I find it really cool that Greenwood used the exact same guitar at this concert, and 15 years ago.
This song is truly a work of art. It's a shame that they don't like playing it, but i can't imagine playing the same song over and over again would be very fun.
I love Radiohead's later songs......however, this song is Radiohead's most iconic song......it touched the soul of every insecure kid in all of us that felt they did not fit in.
To people saying this song defined their carreer: Sure, it might have as a nice britpop band. But works like OK Computer and Kid A are what turned them into one of the best bands in the world. You know why they don't play it live so often? Because they always have good new content, so why play old stuff? It's not about remembering the past, it's about moving forward, being forward-thinking is what got Radiohead to where they are right now.
Lupe OK, Computer is one of my all-time favorite albums. Simply spectacular. I never get tired of hearing it. That's the album that put them on the map. Agree with you.
They still play a lot of songs from OK Computer, which came out 20 years ago. 'Creep' was released only 4 years before that, so I don't really understand your argument...
The reason Radiohead dislikes this song: When the band debuted, most crowds only wanted to hear this song opposed to their other songs. It happens alot to bands. Sometimes it gets old playing the same song over and over and over. I just feel its ironic that this band dislikes the song that defined them.
+Daryl Moore I don't understand why they've stopped performing it. Okay, they may be bored with it, but they must realise it's what made them so successful.
Sean Bolden First three meaning Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer. I enjoy listening to Pablo Honey in full maybe because I listen to quite a lot of grunge music.
I don't even listen to the song i just come here from time to time to hear the reaction of the crowd, it's such a beautiful equilibrium of hysteria, ecstacy and desbelief.
You people are so naive, they don't hate the song, they just got bored of playing it so much and didn't like the attention it got. Many bands don't like their most famous songs but Thom thinks it's a good song, I have a bootleg of him saying that.
THIS SONG IS ABOUT THAT ONE SPECIAL GIRL WHICH WE LOVED SO MUCH BUT DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO KEEP OR GET A CHANCE TO BE WITH.. I BET WE ALL KNOW WHAT GIRL THIS SONG MEANS TO US.
Not sure why people like this but this shows a lack of proper vocal skills. Despite that, great singer and great song, but these notes he only managed when he was a little younger, after years of touring he can't hit these anymore ( Its a G4 for those interested ).
***** Well without proper vocal skills people will completely destroy their voice so they wont even be able to convey that so called ''soul'' either :C
TIMxisxHERE well i dont care about the "vocal skills". its about about singing with the soul and everyone has their own style at doing it. look at his face while he sings he IS conveying what he feels. he is really talented despite the voice crack. are you singer or something or had a huge crowd to sing your G4?. idk just my opinion, the voice crack did sound funny but he knows how to perform "creep" like no one ever. every artist has its good and bad sides.
Walter Antonio Alba An No there were no big crowds when I hit that G4 because a G4 is not that high. Most of male singers in medium/low voices can reach that with ease. Hence my comment about proper vocal skills because that should easily be reached. I'd define a good singer based on more things than the way he handles his throat, like stage-charisma, conveying emotion and playing together with the rest of your band members to make a '''whole''. He certainly does that, in that aspect, great showman, great frontman, great musician, but great singer? ... ometimes. - He admitted to this himself many times btw. He has taken a load of vocal lessons along the way to make his live performances sound better. Voice cracks are bad, and he knows that. He doesn't intend to make them either, if possible, he wants to avoid them altogether. If people perceive them as something good than that is simply a misinterpretation of what voice cracks really convey; a lack of proper breath control.
I was watching this whilst my future wife was watching Lost Prophets. Only realised after we started dating some 4 years later that we had both been at the same festival.
First of all its fucking gorgeous that they still play this. AND Look at Thom's face after that climax in the vocals. He's clearly pissed cuz his voice gave out a bit. Cute to see Thommy angry.
Apesar dele ter desafinado numa certa parte da música, ainda acho que essa foi a melhor apresentação ao vivo dessa música, parece que saiu do coração do cara, merecidamente a melhor ao vivo.....
This was the first Radiohead song I heard and probably my favorite. That the band hates it only makes it more special. It's a song that makes you feel whatever the writer was feeling when he wrote it. Really impressive. I guess they don't like Creep because they don't like to accept what they are, and are angry with themselves(just like the Creep from the song).
I just watched 40 or so Radiohead performances of Creep in the chronological (kinda) order.Watching Thom's approach to the song throughout these years is something unbelievable. At some points he grows tired of it,sometimes he rocks the hell out of it,sometimes he changes the length of the "ruuuuuun" scream, sometimes he is disgusted by it.Many faces of Thom Yorke in one song, many fucking emotions in this beautiful human being

+gajaga789 I disagree. I feel like by opening with it at Reading the song has come full circle, time to put it to rest. But yeah, anything is possible with Radiohead's unpredictable nature.
Radiohead will go down as one of the greatest bands of all time.I just seen Radiohead for the third time in concert. The us tour was a sellout every city. How many bands form the 90s are still relevant like Radiohead.
cant believe they play this song live, its nice that they did this for the audience this song never played live anymore so people miss this song would be nice if they play high and dry atleast once
+Paulo V. I disagree that that's the actual reason. Why play a song if you're going to deliberately make it sound shit? That particular part is a very high note to belt out without going into falsetto, especially for a man in his forties. His frustration/embarrassment at not being able to hit the note was very apparent in his reaction afterwards.
The band themselves, I believe, loves this song. But they stopped playing it live for a while because they knew they had hundreds of other songs of a different style they wanted to play and be known for more. It's sad that there are many Creep haters out there. It's okay to hate a song, I just hope they don't hate it just because it's not obscure or 'cool' enough. Sigh. Amazing. p.s Try singing along to The Gloaming.

this has even more mellower mood than when they recorded it.Its like a different version of creep, like after years of making other songs,i t seems as if this version song has settled the score for how they feel.

Because the crowd want to hear it? It's not their best song, but it's a hit that everybody will sing along to.
JJ H but i mean, they HATE the song.
They don't. I saw them at Glastonbury recently, and everyone went mad for 'Creep'. Don't try to speak on behalf of all Radiohead fans because that's just pretentious and annoying.

Did Thom York just fucking wazzap?!?!
