- The MOST Powerful Mountain Kingdom in all of Crusader Kings 3? Easy as blueberry pie! Especially when you play as the most powerful Viking of adventurer of all time: Jarl Haesteinn!
I, Koifish, will play as the Viking Norse, and conquer my way down to take over all of the Mountains in Iberia, especially around the Basque region! From there, I will use the special decision Champion the Faith of the Country Basques to re-establish a long lost religion Era Zaharrak back into the world! This is one of the hardest religions to reform in Crusader Kings 3! I also create the Hybrid culture between the Basque and the Norse! The Bascorse! The hybrid culture is one of my favorite features from the last DLC Royal Court!

@@Lorrdernie unfortunately I play on PS5 instead of PC so some of the special buildings don’t have the same modifiers the lowest I can get the piety cost down to is 36k which is still doable it’s just going to take me a lil longer

@@Koifish heres an idea. Make the Varangian Culture (Norse and Greek) but you play as a greek character 1st (cause if your norse theres no challange.)
Fun fact: No one knows where, when, or how Haesteinn died. Meaning he could be dead, but he could also still be alive. We will never know until we find definitive proof of either. Schrodinger's viking.

This epic song is the reason I actually waited for at least one person to have dwarf trait. A dwarf Haestein would be awesome.

I recently just finished a Basque/Era Zaharrak game last week and it's really fun. If you're Norse it's a great idea to hybridize with Basque then Occitan. You get Visigothic Codes and Ritualized Frienship with early Basque hybrid which makes it so your domain and realm stay strong by being able to avoid early game gavelkind fuckery and befriend your powerful vassals. Then once you hybridize Occitan you get Chanson de Geste, which just makes your already OP Nordic MAA even stronger with Gendarmes option, plus even greater Poet trait occurrence in your realm combined with Northern Stories. So your unique cultural traditions just from hybridizing are
Coastal Warriors
Northern Stories
Malleable Invaders
Visigothic Codes
Chanson de Geste
Ritualized Friendship
Ting-Meet (if you want to keep it)
Plus you have access to Varangian Vets/Huscarls/Gendarmes/Caballeros MAA and Performative Honor/Chivalry for crazy good standing armies and knights.
literally a combination of really OP traditions from already good by themselves cultures. Even comes with cool name ideas, either Euskalander/Vascolander. If you chose to establish Era Zaharrak with Warmonger Tenet it's pretty much a given that you can conquer Europe easily if you wanted to.
I tried this once. Started in Bohemia, as you do, worked to reform my faith and culture to emphasise mountains and industry. Worked my way through the bloodline dynasty tree, made sure my family would be mostly dwarves from then on.
Unfortunately, I had no control over the extended family. They married TALL FOLK, and some of them even shaved their beards!
I realised that my efforts to endwarf the world were in vain, as I was the only one who actually stuck to the plan. A dwarf who shaves his beard might as well be an elf for all the good it does him, by Grimnir!

I think Georgian culture would be more suitable for a mountain kingdom with their cultural bonus and heavy cavalry who can fight in mountains.
