    Had a bridge like this, got the instrument new and the Ibanez manual did not even mention the damn set screws.

      Yeah that's one thing that definitely needs to be In the manual lol seems like they'd cover everything

      Thanks dude glad I could help. The manual really should have this in there. That's what inspired me to do this video

      @@JeffWeaver87 Yeah I went through the one on the Ibanez fandom but it wasnt much help. This got me the answer I needed to avoid making a big mistake. I just got a '99 S540LTD that should have a lo-pro edge but turned out to be an Original Edge. First time with one and the top of one of the mounts was already cracked. I assume from someone making that very mistake in the past. Naturally I've now found the internal screw is completely stripped. Maybe I should just leave it and call it "character" or a "battle scar"....

      Yeah I'd just leave it be

    Do you know if the ibanez premium 2011 rg920qm premium has this screw?

      Not sure but if it has the original or low pro edge then yes it will have it

      I was looking at that guitar and I do believe it does have those locking studs. Because my Ibanez js140 has them with the edge zero two trem

    Do you need to detune the guitar first to adjust the action?

    • @JeffWeaver87
      @JeffWeaver87  2 роки тому +5

      If raising it yes

      @@JeffWeaver87i just need to lower action by 1.5 ml. So staying in tune won’t cause any damage?

      You'll be fine there just no gurastic adjustments

      And always remember if it doesn't move don't force it. I'm not sure if the factory locks them down or not so if they don't move at all you'll have to loosen the set screws

      Should've have clarified the standard RG series and other Indonesian js models don't have the original edge lol
