AJ climbed this one and planted her flag on it. Don't expect to ever hear a better performance of this until the next time she sings it.
What I like is her singing it sitting down and belting like that.
She did the same thing sitting cross-legged on stage, where she sang “I Have Nothing” (if you know what I mean) in front of Jonathan Moffett, Michael Jackson's drummer.

I would think that Adele, and all the others who contributed to this song would be gratified that the greatest storytelling signature vocalist that has ever lived did them the honor of performing their work. The word is out that Jenifer Warren, one of the most famous songwriters, has written a song just for AJ, and her new album. Republic Records knows the potential of our genus, Angelina Jordan, and they have put together some of the biggest names in the industry to support her. Soon she will belong to the universe, and us angles will be able to say we knew her when
I had not heard that. I would imagine that many songwriters would love to have Angelina perform their work.

I had my heart broken when I was 12, so there's a good chance for her at 17, she experienced this. And I'm now 48 and still once in a while think about it.
I know the feeling. Those feelings of love and loss were very strong already at a young age. (Still feel them too sometimes). I think experiences in life connect to some sort of source of emotions that is available at any age. One of the beauties of Angelina is that she has access to them in a very special way and is able to connect to them, translate lyrics into her world and can artistically share them with us listeners. It's both in her diction (like an actress; you don't have to be a powerful queen to play a role of one f.i.) and in her musicality. She is extremely talented. Almost unfair, also having such a beautiful voice ;-)
By the way: she was only 14 (almost 15) when she recorded this, not even 17

The set is the pianist's home studio. He is multiple Grammy Award winner Rob Christie.
I'm pretty sure that the studio is owned by Republic Records, which Angelina is allowed to use exclusively for her own projects. See also the two covers: Easy on Me and Heal the World. Angelina has some videos about this studio on IG and Tiktok that she proudly presents. 🤗

This remains in my Top 5 of Angelina's performances. No matter how many times I watch it, I tear up. 1.2M views, but it deserves 10M. For me, the song is one of Adele's best, and Angie's version is on top of all others. I also feel that Angelina is the best in the world at covering Adele's songs.
There's a video I've seen of Adele doing this song live...before she does it, she explains what the song is about...what she says differs to what you say it is about...

"you're the only one that matters", "hold me like you're more than just a friend", "while we do what lovers do", "it matters how this ends", "what if I never love again". So true Britt & great reaction as always. It's way beyond her singing voice and how she can change it. She sings with raw emotions that only can come from personal experience, but we know she's too young to have experienced these kinds of emotions. I guess we can say at such a young age, she's also a great actress.

This is when Angelina broke out from adolescent singer to young woman in my opinion. It was her first full production with Republic Records when she was 14. It floored me. If you hear Adele's version you will understand. I never compare directly because each artist brings their strengths. But honestly, my preference is Angelina's version because of the emotion she brings to the song. Adele is a phenomenal songwriter and of course she sings it masterfully. But for me, Adele sometimes sings sharp while Angelina has that soft jazzy tone that I prefer. There is a mashup of Adele and Angelina singing this song together which would make for a great reaction. Keep in mind that Adele was almost 30 years old singing this while Angelina was 14. That tells you something!

Very well said Ron. Those moments when Adele's voice gets sharp, just ruins the song for me. Angelina is a top class singer story teller. I keep watching most of Britt's reactions because she is so likeable, but don't give her a like since she doesn't take 5 seconds to suggest viewers subscribe to the artists channel and to watch, like, share and comment on the original video.
I now watch 2 videos per day from either Angelina's Official or Cover channel. I ensure that I like, post a new comment, and read, like, and reply when possible. More angels participating is the most direct way we can support Angelina on UA-cam, which will then recommend her videos to millions more people. This still allows you ample time to watch your reactors, hopefully those who make the commit to spread Angelina's message of love and empathy to the world.

@@albertstern1945 Thanks for your comment. In my humble opinion, I believe Angelina was 13 when she did someone like you. That was one of those home recordings and not in the studio. From my recollection, all I ask was the first time and you can see it was in the studio.

Yes .. she's had a broken heart ... or twenty .. or a hundred! It's funny how everyone seems to agree that she's an old soul but then we're surprised that she knows about pain and heartache. If indeed she's an old soul, she has lived every kind of life . and we all know that pain and heart-ache are pretty normal in many different types of lives. She reminds us when we get the goosebumps from her way of sharing that particular story and particular pain. She's fabulous .. and a gift .. and most definitely our teacher in many ways.

Adele`s music is for sure somthing Angelina brought into my life. I am all into the jazzy/bluesy Angelina, and even most of all those great covers from my early days and beyond. She manage to sing quite a few of the songs I grew up with, and even from my youth. I am so impressed by her even by that 😮🤩 As she on top of that is abel to bring me into new music as well, and popular music of today; - I truly could never expect even that from a young girl, or a child even. Angelina does so, and she also makes my love for music (first and foremost HER music) much greater than it has ever been.
I don`t think she has many, if any, boundaries when it comes to music. She has since very young been an Adele "ambasador".

Angelina was 5 when this Adele album (21) was released.
I've always loved any song this young lady sang, but when I heard this one, it touched something deep down inside me. I'd never heard Adele sing this either, so I went to check it out. Adele has a great voice, but I didn't get half way through her song. It just seemed bland. The emotion that Angelina puts in it, is amazing. I must have listened to Angelina sing this 500 times, and each time it brings tears to my eyes. Great reaction, and if it is still OK to compliment young ladies, you look exceptionally nice today.

Hi . I would like to recommend you to listen "everytime we say goodbye" when she was 10, at tv program on a rooftop.
I think this song was a joint effort from Bruno Mars and Adele. I think it was co-written but both did their own videos of it. I’ve watched both and Angelina performs this closer to the Adele version. Angelina is more soulfull and has the jazz slurring and slides that only she has mastered.

Listen! I have to say it..... adele who? Right! I mean adele is a great singer/songwriter, but for me her voice is harsh and cold. Angelina's voice is warm and full of emotional content. This is an Adele song thru and thru. And she's been covering Adele. These are not old songs. How amazing she sounds here. And how perfectly pitched every note is. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE PRO.
