You are almost right, though Gale was very very praised by his gifted art of the weave to the point everyone only saw him for his title of the young prodigy. I have to give enormous props to Tim Downie, who voiced Gale! I already liked the concept of Gale, as a character, but Tim's performance added extra (and subtle) layers of depth and intimacy that really sold the complexities of Gale. Seriously, the entire Baldur's Gate 3 team did a phenomenal job!
Funny situation I ran into while playing with 2 friends, where Gale's act 2 romance scene triggered. One person went to talk to him, and during the conversation Gale straight up says "You're not the one I was expecting" and it was hilarious
At this point I’d rather listen to an imaginary character than any of the boys in my city. All the men in my city only say stuff like “gyatt dayumn that’s a huge booty” while Gale is like 🥰
I lowkey loved the scene where you place your hand over Gale's heart and he shares the memory of the Netherese book. Despite it being pretty dark, it felt really intimate and trusting on both Gale and Tav's parts
His story is understandable. Impressing any woman is difficult enough, I imagine, but a goddess! Of magic! You're bound to get insecure and wanna get better than you can possibly be. And here is Tav, accepting you as you are and challenging you to be noone other than yourself.
For real. Why would Mystra, a being who should know better, groom a young human male (one of the most foolhardy, ambitious beings) to lay with her and see magic power beyond his wildest dreams and expect him not to do something drastic to show he can hang/ prove himself
Especially in the context that it's seemingly well known she's had multiple mortal lovers. Whomever is her mortal lover at any given point knows they're only getting older and there's always going to be another young aspiring mortal to take his place. Why wouldn't he try to set himself apart/ become more godlike to remain by her side.
I think marrying mortal gale is the best ending. Him becoming q god and taking you with him is ok. But it makes more sense forbhis character to grow and learn that he himself is enough as a mortal and he doesn't need to be defined by his power.

I have this feeling that one of the reasons he can be so awkward is because he has a crush on the main character; if you notice, with the others he is not that awkward at all, in fact he’s very laid back with them and this is probably because he doesn’t have any feelings there. He doesn’t talk too much with the others or get way too scholarly. When you like someone and you are nervous sometimes you come off too strong or talk too much, and it’s because your brain is trying to express things while your heart is racing. My next playthrough I want to romance him. I’m romancing Astarion right now. When the weave scene came up I wanted to kiss Gale so bad. I wish that was an option, rather than just imagining a moment. That would of been romantic and hot 🥵.

I love how I've been working tirelessly to increase Astarion's approval and it's only at 56. Yet, Gale's is at a whopping 65 and I've done little to nothing to win his favor. He's cute and charming in his own way, but that man needs to CHILL. Lol
I was looking at a bunch of websites about how to romance Astarion. I was googling if every little thing I said to him would have a negative affect. I keep that up for a little while. Then I find out that you can look at how much approval the characters have. I immediately go and look at Astarion’s. It’s neutral. I look at Gale’s, because I’m curious. It’s much better than Astarion’s. I sit there for a moment as I contemplate what to do. After some thinking, I decide to go with the flow. I would still try to romance Astarion, but if things started with Gale, so be it. Later, after I’ve found out about how Gale got his condition and all that, I get to the party. I talk to Astarion because I know what will happen (C;). After the conversation (I accepted Astarion’s offer) and the narrator asks where you’ll go that night, I got the option to go to Gale instead of meeting Astarion. I choose to meet Astarion and i get the cutscene. After, I can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if I stood up Astarion and talked to Gale. I’ve googled it, but found no results to what I want. Any advice? I’m kind of tempted to romance Gale instead of Astarion because I’ve heard how unrewarding Astarion’s romance is.
Astarion is funny (in a bitchy way) but it's kind of hard to get him to like you if you're not comfortable to play a mean character yourself. Which makes sense. But Gale is just a much nicer person so if you also play nice it's easy to get him to like you.
It's kind of weird he went from going on and on about the beauty of mystra to suddenly telling you how turned on he is by YOU. And just before all that, he was calling you a close friend and nothing more. Very confusing
Guy is sending a lot of mixed signals at the beginning but it makes sense, he is still getting over Mystra and coming to terms with being a walking bomb and a future squid. The concept of someone being actually into him as a normal person and not a super OP archmage is hard for him to understand so he doesn't really actively pursue the Player Character until he's given a divine deadline which completely wakes him up from his heartbreak.
I got recently new to the Baldur's Gate 3 Community and I love it. This game kicked out many games from the list of my favorite games. At the moment it is my new number 1. This game made it that I can really forget the reality and the time flies by. That didn't happened a long time. Best regards!

I must say, that training scene needs a bit of rework. 1) The animations seemed very clumsy, they could flow more. 2) If you’re a spellcaster class, you don’t need to be trained. 3) I play a cleric of Mystra, that scene makes the character look pretty clueless given that fact. But with her bard levels she played along because Gale clearly wants to impress :D But at least the emotional part after made up for it. Was worth the compromise. :)
I don't understand why lots of women prefer Astarion over Gale. I find Astarion as a cocky, arrogant man and not kind. Also not very masculine, and not attractive. To me, Gale was funny from the first moment when I pulled him out of the rock. I loved this character since then, a little crazy, optimistic man, funny, kind, seductive, charming, sweet, and romantic. Did I say... sexy? Sadly his ambition led him to dangerous paths and to be a timer bomb. I started the game in a coop, I didn't choose him as a companion because I didn't understand much of the game and less the magic. When my real companion left me alone, I included him in my "journey". There I am, in Act 2 after Midnight Towers, without food, so we can't rest, no blood, trying to figure out what to do to fix that. By the way, thank you for the video. 🙂
An hour in character creation lol. Seriously tho, when I create a character, I usually make sure that the hair color matches the eye color, and the makeup contrasts with the eyes. Moreover, she's a half-elf, and in BG3 the face models of this race are among the most captivating (at least in my opinion).

How on earth can anyone possibly enjoy this?? He's clearly not over her. He completely keeps tav in the friendzone with a wall right up, up until Mystra told him to go die. That probably messed him up emotionally if he was still into her (staring at her hollographic face earlier). Most likely this upset him a lot, but his attitude towards Mystra vs tav changed ONLY after that. Tav is clearly nothing but a rebound and a distraction. The fact that he wanted to have astral seggs "like the gods do it" just shows me that tav is absolutely a replacement Mystra. He was absolutely gushing about Mystra towards the beginning of this "romance", after tav walks in on him staring at her face, not to mention staring at her holographic head all night of course. Mystra tells him to go kys and then all of a sudden he's super into the tav now? Common... And you might say "well if that's true why did he wanna marry tav then?" Idk but personally I suspect he just wants to be married in general I mean he's obviously into monogamy and commitment given his reaction to the proposition from Halsin and all that. Also Gale meets the DSM-5 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder btw (criterion 1 grandiose self importance, often appearing boastful and pretentious = he's a protege and the best of the best according to him, 2 preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success/power/brilliance/beauty/ideal all consuming love = wants to be god like including dating a goddess, 3 believe they are special/superior and should only associate with other such people = taking the time to announce to the whole camp that he dated a goddess, wanting to be associated with her, possibly other major, famous wizards like elminister as well, so that's two people he's bragged about knowing at least, and the dsm states that narcissists inflate the value of the people closest to them (tav in this case), but devalue the credentials of those who disappoint them (mystra), 4 require excessive admiration, often fishing for compliments with great charm = announcing to all companions that he had a thing with a goddess, showing off his intelligence and magical skill at camp superfluously with tav, 5 entitlement to special treatment = why does he deserve mystra to lead him to the forbidden realm and be given godlike power when no other mortal is given this privilege? Thats 5 criteria already, so technically Gale is a narcissist. And I'm sorry, really I am. It's not your fault if you didn't know. I think people just see a bookish guy like that and assume he's a nice guy, based on stereotypes. Fatal mistake. I remember seeing another clip of the ending if you play as Gale, and he's giving the crown to Mystra. There's an option to tell her you want to be together again but if you choose that, Mystra says they probably will be again in the future. Great so that means that Mystra does infact intend to return to Gale someday? And how do you think that's likely to end? Given what a simp he was for her he'd probably jump at the chance (if that guy called him "mystra's lapdog"). He may not cheat on tav or whatever if tav was there but he sure would leave tav so as to not be seeing two people at once (since he's not into that and all). Best case even if he does choose tav over Mystra at that point, Mystra is an all powerful goddess and the best mage in the whole universe or something. You don't think she would use it to charm the man she wants to be with and change his mind for her convenience if she could? Or even better case lets say she doesn't do that for some reason (but y'all think she's the devil and that everything evil in this world is her fault so by your logic why wouldn't she? But hypothetically even if she didn't let's say), tav has to constantly look over his/her/their shoulder. Forever worried about how they compare, and whether Gale would have rather been with the goddess if only he could. Wondering when he's finally gonna leave. When Mystra finally comes back to claim him for herself. Never a moment's peace. What a life to lead.

I don't understand why lots of women prefer Astarion over Gale. I find Astarion as a cocky, arrogant man and not kind. Also not very masculine, and not attractive. To me, Gale was funny from the first moment when I pulled him out of the rock. I loved this character since then, a little crazy, optimistic man, funny, kind, seductive, charming, sweet, and romantic. Did I say... sexy? Sadly his ambition led him to dangerous paths and to be a timer bomb. I started the game in a coop, I didn't choose him as a companion because I didn't understand much of the game and less the magic. When my real companion left me alone, I included him in my "journey". There I am, in Act 2 after Midnight Towers, without food, so we can't rest, no blood, trying to figure out what to do to fix that. By the way, thank you for the video. 🙂

An hour in character creation lol. Seriously tho, when I create a character, I usually make sure that the hair color matches the eye color, and the makeup contrasts with the eyes. Moreover, she's a half-elf, and in BG3 the face models of this race are among the most captivating (at least in my opinion).

I don't use mods. All clothes and armor can be easily found in the game. I only changed the colors🌟

I wanted to romance Gale, and I now see I have a VERY big problem. Gale this whoel time is veing "aaaw, you like me how cute. but you're not good enough. But I'll leave eith a little bit for your effort. After all I love the attention." kind of romance. I have a confidence problem, I'm attracted to charm and ambition e8thout thinking that this is EXACTLY charm and ambition. Video game truly are therapy.
He's really not at all like that, not sure if you watched the whole video but he struggled with ego but with kind words he overcomes his insecurities. Im unsure how anyone could get that impression when he continually goes for big displays of love and affection lol

How on earth can anyone possibly enjoy this?? He's clearly not over her. He completely keeps tav in the friendzone with a wall right up, up until Mystra told him to go die. That probably messed him up emotionally if he was still into her (staring at her hollographic face earlier). Most likely this upset him a lot, but his attitude towards Mystra vs tav changed ONLY after that. Tav is clearly nothing but a rebound and a distraction. The fact that he wanted to have astral seggs "like the gods do it" just shows me that tav is absolutely a replacement Mystra. He was absolutely gushing about Mystra towards the beginning of this "romance", after tav walks in on him staring at her face, not to mention staring at her holographic head all night of course. Mystra tells him to go kys and then all of a sudden he's super into the tav now? Common...
And you might say "well if that's true why did he wanna marry tav then?" Idk but personally I suspect he just wants to be married in general I mean he's obviously into monogamy and commitment given his reaction to the proposition from Halsin and all that. Nothing wrong with that at all but it doesn't mean he loves tav just because he's a traditional and conventional type of person who only wants traditional relationships with people. But fine sure maybe he loves the tav in some way. He's obviously grateful tav doesn't wanna see him dead. But that doesn't change the fact that he would have absolutely chosen Mystra over tav, if only she never rejected him so completely by telling him to go kill himself.

The seggs was really tame too. If you choose to just do it on a bed it's really lame it just fades to black. And personally i would have preferred real seggs, not imaginary seggs. And if you do it in the stars, it's creative and all but to me that wasn't really even sex at all. Idk what that was it was chaos lol. I don't care if you have a million arms and legs as long as the job gets done but maybe that's just me? I don't do it for a million arms and legs all over me. Who even cares? Lol that doesn't make it any better does it? I just couldn't really relate to that. That was all a bit silly to me actually. And no seggs isn't everything but I do feel disappointed when someone promises it and then fails to deliver.
Also Gale meets the DSM-5 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder btw (criterion 1 grandiose self importance, often appearing boastful and pretentious = he's a protege and the best of the best according to him, 2 preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success/power/brilliance/beauty/ideal all consuming love = wants to be god like including dating a goddess, 3 believe they are special/superior and should only associate with other such people = taking the time to announce to the whole camp that he dated a goddess, wanting to be associated with her, possibly other major, famous wizards like elminister as well, so that's two people he's bragged about knowing at least, and the dsm states that narcissists inflate the value of the people closest to them (tav in this case), but devalue the credentials of those who disappoint them (mystra), 4 require excessive admiration, often fishing for compliments with great charm = announcing to all companions that he had a thing with a goddess, showing off his intelligence and magical skill at camp superfluously with tav, 5 entitlement to special treatment = why does he deserve mystra to lead him to the forbidden realm and be given godlike power when no other mortal is given this privilege? Thats 5 criteria already, so technically Gale is a narcissist. And I'm sorry, really I am. It's not your fault if you didn't know. I think people just see a bookish guy like that and assume he's a nice guy, based on stereotypes. Fatal mistake.
I remember seeing another clip of the ending if you play as Gale, and he's giving the crown to Mystra. There's an option to tell her you want to be together again but if you choose that, Mystra says they probably will be again in the future. Great so that means that Mystra does infact intend to return to Gale someday? And how do you think that's likely to end? Given what a simp he was for her he'd probably jump at the chance (if that guy called him "mystra's lapdog"). He may not cheat on tav or whatever if tav was there but he sure would leave tav so as to not be seeing two people at once (since he's not into that and all). Best case even if he does choose tav over Mystra at that point, Mystra is an all powerful goddess and the best mage in the whole universe or something. You don't think she would use it to charm the man she wants to be with and change his mind for her convenience if she could? Or even better case lets say she doesn't do that for some reason (but y'all think she's the devil and that everything evil in this world is her fault so by your logic why wouldn't she? But hypothetically even if she didn't let's say), tav has to constantly look over his/her/their shoulder. Forever worried about how they compare, and whether Gale would have rather been with the goddess if only he could. Wondering when he's finally gonna leave. When Mystra finally comes back to claim him for herself. Never a moment's peace. What a life to lead.
