especially when there is a mod available for a pair of promise rings where Tav can make blood wine for him and he can heal their bloodless condition...along with being able to Misty Step to each other in battle as a bonus action
he's so pretty in that silver armor.. especially under the sun🥺 i wish larian would give as an update where we can find a cure for astarion's vampirism, instead of relying on the tadpoles or ascending him. he deserve a real "happy" ending

I feel like less a cure would be right, but a way for him to stay in the sun for some time. Same for Karlach, a way to get her heart back from Zariel. Gale to find the crown and return it.. There are still storylines that can be expanded upon with the old companions and introducing new ones for a DLC...
One thing I find fascinating is his body language - he goes from having to look at Tav through his eyelashes when showing any venerability to being fully confident.

If you play Astarion as your MC you can go as far, as to carve the runes on Cazador’s back and yet still back out of doing the ritual. Wish you could do this here, since it felt fitting. Put Cazador through the same agonizing pain Astarion and his siblings had to go through, and then stab him to death.
Literally what I was thinking! First playthrough I was stunned Astarion just stabbed him to death. I will yelling how that was far too quick for a nasty evil vampire like him. I was wanting to do it myself lolol but then Astarion's emotional breakdown made me instantly protective huggy
I absolutely hated that the game didn't let me use disguse self to turn into Astarion to show him his reflection in the scene when he broke his mirror...I hated it so much. I wanted him to truly see himself. Of course I flattered him as much as i could (except when I got the chance to compare him to gale), but my words didn't do him justice. I had the spell prepared!!! Why can't I use it to turn into him? :(
@@seignee or maybe they did think of it but it would have required to change how the spell works. Imagine if you can turn into any named enemy and infiltrate camps :P But still this made me sad

We definitely should have been able to give Astarion a hug after dealing with Cazador. Not in the moment when he’s trying to process everything, but later when Astarion was ready to talk.
I literally finished going through his novel 15 minutes ago... I feel so strange, during the scene of the murder of Kazador, I wanted to cry so much, but I didn't drop a tear, I just couldn't, only when I saw the scene in the cemetery and left the game, tears flowed from my eyes, so slowly.. I want so much to start crying, but as if something is in the way. Maybe it's that feeling of emptiness when you finally got what you were waiting for and now you don't know what to do next. What a pity that in the game you are limited to lines of dialogue and can't say all your words of love to this character. And I couldn't decide for myself whether to do it in the cemetery scene or just sit there together, I just really want to be with him together, but I got the impression from this scene that he really wants it, but I don't know how it would have been too little time. I just hope he was honest and really wanted it.❤

There's not a play through I can imagine where Astarion isn't permanently in my party and gettinga decent storyline. I don't care what happens if I sell him out, kill him or boot him cause he's just too much fun. Damn I missed out on so much dialogue in Act 2 >.< I guess I wasn't taking enough long rests?? Either way now in Act 3 he acts like I refused him at some point, when the only romance stuff I got was up to showing him the runes in the dirt >.< every other cutscene was unrelated to him and I never got speech bubbles for him 😢
yes, as someone else said, it's astarion's theme, it's called "i want to live" but the lyrics are the very best part, they will make you cry if you know his story, 1 of my favorite songs ever, definitely check out the version with the lyrics!
i've just started watching this, & as someone who's romanced him for 900 hrs & counting, i find it so weird to see a "romance" where ppl pick the mean options with him. amazed it even works, honestly. at least the first 15 mins or so looks less like a romance & more like you absolutely hate him 😢
I decided to choose the slightly "spicier/meaner" ones out of curiosity, but also because it matched the way I imagined this Tav. Besides, in my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised if many people started the game this way. Early on, Astarion threatens or holds a knife to Tav's throat, which can leave a bad taste.

Astarion can't stay angry at Tav. so many times we see him rein in his anger and i love it. And that nervous laugh when he's telling her the truth about his feelings. He's all over the place. I just wish we had the date night scenes that we get in the Astarion/Karlach romance, where they go for dinner and share a bed, but cuddle up and don't do anything but that.

I completely undersand you, but I think that the differences between those scenes make quite a lot of sense. I wouldn't consider non-ascended version vanilla by any means lol, it's very passionate (even spiritual in a sense) and you can tell that he cares for Tav. As for the ascended version, well...he's not himself anymore, he seems possessive and obsessive hence the more carnal aspect of the scene
Yeah, I get your point, but I don't see why the "good" stuff always has to be less carnal than the "bad" stuff... There's not a play through I can imagine where Astarion isn't permanently in my party and gettinga decent storyline. I don't care what happens if I sell him out, kill him or boot him cause he's just too much fun. I'll RP pretty much every other scenario in the game just to experience it, but Astarion will always be the exception.

Why don't we have to option to attack in mid villain speech. Isn't that what we all really want. I want that. Villain speech are a stupid move anyways, so why not just simply take advantage. Take off my boot and chuck it at him. Or get a archer to shoot arrow at him mid speech.

Damn I missed out on so much dialogue in Act 2 >.< I guess I wasn't taking enough long rests?? Either way now in Act 3 he acts like I refused him at some point, when the only romance stuff I got was up to showing him the runes in the dirt >.< every other cutscene was unrelated to him and I never got speech bubbles for him 😢

yes, as someone else said, it's astarion's theme, it's called "i want to live" but the lyrics are the very best part, they will make you cry if you know his story, 1 of my favorite songs ever, definitely check out the version with the lyrics!

i've just started watching this, & as someone who's romanced him for 900 hrs & counting, i find it so weird to see a "romance" where ppl pick the mean options with him. amazed it even works, honestly. at least the first 15 mins or so looks less like a romance & more like you absolutely hate him 😢
I decided to choose the slightly "spicier/meaner" ones out of curiosity, but also because it matched the way I imagined this Tav. Besides, in my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised if many people started the game this way. Early on, Astarion threatens or holds a knife to Tav's throat, which can leave a bad taste.
@@xModronx yet they all love lae'zel when she essentially does the same thing on the ship, not to mention the nite at camp where she tries to slit your throat. in my last run, i got her trying to slit my throat on the same nite as her trying to sleep with me, she's diverse i suppose

@tanuka7624 they may have fixed it then, since I've played it. I know their patches have had a lot of bug fixes. But before, doing that ending with Karlach would send me straight to credits with no (good) ending scene with Astarion

You know another thing i love? Astarion can't stay angry at Tav. so many times we see him rein in his anger and i love it.
And that nervous laugh when he's telling her the truth about his feelings. He's all over the place. I just wish we had the date night scenes that we get in the Astarion/Karlach romance, where they go for dinner and share a bed, but cuddle up and don't do anything but that.

I still can't believe they gave the bad ending romance scene such a steamy sex scene complete with nudity and thrusting action, and all we get in the good ending is a poxy clothed version where he's not even wearing the outfit we chose for him. I completely undersand you, but I think that the differences between those scenes make quite a lot of sense. I wouldn't consider non-ascended version vanilla by any means lol, it's very passionate (even spiritual in a sense) and you can tell that he cares for Tav. As for the ascended version, well...he's not himself anymore, he seems possessive and obsessive hence the more carnal aspect of the scene
Yeah, I get your point, but I don't see why the "good" stuff always has to be less carnal than the "bad" stuff...
