    Hi, I'm Seth, I've been Songwriting & Producing music for the past 10 years. I've worked with many artists in bringing their creative ideas into the real world. I've worked on projects for Warner Music Group and three songs I've written (and two I've produced) have made it onto Spotify-Curated Playlists (Love Pop, OPM Workday Marathon, & New Music Friday Philippines, Cozy Christmas Pop). I say all this only because I want you to know that the music you've worked your ass off to create is in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing. Music Production is one of the easiest things to screw up and I've seen countless song ideas (amazing ones) ruined by lackluster production. I'm here to make you sound good. That's it.

    Another tip I learned a while back, record yourself playing the same acoustic track twice, pan one completely to the left and one completely to the right - it will sound much richer and the slight differences in performance really add to the sound.

      Just stereo spread it???

      No, then it doesn't feel natural.
      The very small differences in both recordings make it sound more natural@@MatteoFN980

    Absolutely agree with all of that, except the recording in the closet part. Closets are about the most awful acoustic environments around. Small, boxy, resonant spaces with all the reflective boundaries close to the microphone/sound source, with clothes only able to absorb the highest frequencies. A boomy comb filtering nightmare!

      Depend son how full of clothes they are and how big of a closet it is

    • @MarcusJayMusic
      @MarcusJayMusic Рік тому +1

      @@ProduceGuitarPop Low E string on a guitar is 83hz, which has a wavelength of over 4 metres! To adequately absorb a frequency, you typically need an appropriately dense material with an appropriate GFR around 1/4 of the wavelength in depth. So your closet example would need to have the right density of clothing fabric packed around 1 metre deep along every boundary of the closet (and still have room for a human to breathe, and a microphone) to not sound like a boxy, comb filtered mess. I'm sure one or two such closets exist in the world, but those lucky few, I imagine, could just afford to hire an actual studio to record in. For almost everyone else, a closet is generally a bad place to record.

      @@MarcusJayMusicon paper, you're right, though in practice it's a bit different. Personally I get really good sound with my closet and it's pretty much the smallest walk-in you can get before it's just a normal closet

    Can I please ask what mic you’re using to record the valuable content you just shared? 😊 I’m assuming it connects to your phone?
    Essentially I want to make decent-sounding 1 minute acoustic covers. I’ll be investing in a camera, but lost as to what to use for recording both the guitar and singing.
    I’ll appreciate any help!

    i know this is subjective as all things but do you guys prefer 80/20 or prosper bronze strings for recording ?

    I have a pre recorded acoustic guitar audio. Have to change the tone of this recording. Is it possible to import this recording into any software or tool and change the tone. Please suggest.

    I play a CD60 fender mostly - wow I have had Gibson hummingbirds Gibsons, Songwriter, Gibsons of Gibson, J 45 Taylor’s I’ve played pretty much every acoustic make out there- your sound is in your hands as the player don’t buy into the garbage that you have to spend $2000 for an acoustic guitar to sound good. The CD 60 is obviously a cheap acoustic but that $100 acoustic I have I guarantee you sounds better than that Gibson hummingbird you have. It’s a farce I’ve been playing since I was 16. I know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s the same thing as buying a custom shop from Fender you’re overpaying by $3000 expensive gear dozen guarantee, expensive sounding results if you are in the studio and it does sound like shit chances are your engineer has no idea what they’re doing or doesn’t know what they’re doing, but is milk in your hourly rate just pump a little reverb, some big game and some compression on an acoustic guitar and every recording will sound fine remember it’s backing music. If you’re a singer songwriter, it’s in the background the focus will be on your vocals and the overall production sound don’t fall into this trap that you must acquire a quality acoustic guitar because in the end they’re all just wood. All of the Gibsons you see your way over priced even the resale prices people still try to get big bucks for them. I can tell you one thing I have a written rule after knowing what I have known I will never pay over $500 for an acoustic tour ever Ever ever ever - ARIA makes a great acoustic hell Alverez makes a great acoustic even Ibanez, the Hummingbird. I had sound pretty nice little too thick for my taste, too muddy he have to use light strings, and I don’t like to use light strings that that light. To put it bluntly if you pay that much for an acoustic guitar than you were the problem.😅

    Tonewood for electric guitar is pointless. It’s an electric instrument. Therefore, the electronics are what make the tone.
