Hi, I'm Seth, I've been Songwriting & Producing music for the past 10 years. I made this channel because I couldn't find any music production tutorials in my niche on guitar based pop that actually broke down specific songs from artists like the 1975, LANY, Muna, etc. Every week i make an instrumental from scratch in the specific style of a popular guitar-based pop song and show you how I recreated it. I show you my sample selection, production tricks, guitar tones, mixing chains, mastering plugins, all of it. I've worked with many artists in bringing their creative ideas into the real world. I've worked on projects for Warner Music Group and three songs I've written (and two I've produced) have made it onto Spotify-Curated Playlists (Love Pop, OPM Workday Marathon, & New Music Friday Philippines, Cozy Christmas Pop).

    Dude I tried to came back to music with the dayseeker vibe that completely destroyed my mind then you made me discover the band Camino and the way you show the different layers especially for the synth (which I think it’s the most difficult part when you have to choose some sounds or others) is insane super clear and really well done ! Shout out from France buddy !

    This is dope, I’m gonna try this method out assuming it works on male vocals as well (it should since you didn’t use EQ anywhere except the channel strip). Love that you used the Distressor, it’s like hot sauce to me… put that shit on everything haha. Question tho: were you only mixing in solo for the purpose of this vid? Or is there a benefit to mixing vox in solo?

    • @ProduceGuitarPop
      @ProduceGuitarPop День тому

      @@phildimopoulos6010 yeah it should work on make vocals as long as you adjust the hpf right and move the eq to according registers. At this point I know what I want a vocal to sound like on my sets up, and so I’ll just solo it until it sounds right then move onto the next thing. There’s a great benefit to not soloing track when you start out but I feel like that advice gets parroted a bit too much. It’s a real benefit to mixers to just know what the low end on a bass should feel like without having to decipher it from a Whole mix going

      @@ProduceGuitarPopyeah! K so I fully agree… I mean I’m no pro, but I feel very similarly. I do go back and forth a lot, but sometimes I’m spending 10+ mins in solo EQ-ing/compressing before I even hear it in the mix. Thanks for the reply!

      Using buses whenever I can. Most of those vocals are just in a group of 8+ tracks so 1 eq/1 comp is doing all the work on that stack

    I gotta be honest. I wouldn’t say your wrong that originality is impossible. However, it is most likely possible if you CONTINUE the same other sounds you make and stay the same. With no other copying sounds and collabration is true. Instead of yourself, thats what i see a lot of artists these day which is sad and disappointing. Because sooner or late. Fans, they will burn out and move on to the next one QUICKLY enough. However, like Taylor swift or the 1975 for example. continue the same sounds with there evolution of music and journey. It what makes a fan into a superfan for the longest run.

    Ryan Lerman of Scary Pockets said in passing while doing a Dead Wax interview: “Your sound is you failing to imitate your influences” and that alone has been super freeing for me as it empowers both stealing from your influences and not feeling like your work is good enough. I loved your broader take on the topic; very inspiring.
