Do you have a preference? Prick ears or floppy ears? A combination of both?
Prick! They are soooo cute. My current BC has airplane ears, but she's still super cute. :)
Our dog Rad's ears are pretty lopsided. One up, one down. Doesn't make him any less cute though ;)
I call my Chi's ears "lazy." Wish they pricked up.
Carol Roberts use her method then
I wanted a chihuahua but the woman I was getting it from told me at the last minute she didn't live in the same city as me :/ so I got a cross 3/4 chihuahua 1/4 jack russel . she has a jack russel body on terms of markings but her face looks like a little chi, but with floppy ears so I'm currently trying to get them to stand using medical tape. my friend who came with me to get the puppy didnt believe I could get her ears to stand and they are still floppy sometimes but he says he can see a difference in how much they stand up :)
Thank you so much it worked perfectly on my 12 week old red heeler who had one floppy ear. It’s awesome, it didn’t bother him at all. I’m so happy thank you for your great advice. 😊👍
You ladies are GENIUSES!!! Breathe Right stips! I used store brand and they are/were perfect. Thank you.
Thank you for your advice..it works!! You saved my puppy's ears. Thank you!
This is working great for my Husky/Border Collie! Thank you for the help!
Glad you found it helpful, Ronny! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
Brilliant idea. I love it
Hi! I’m watching your video about the floppy ear. I’m like you and want them the same. We are about to adopt a Frenchie. He is 1.5 years old. He was a stud that was going to be put down bc they were done with him. So sad! Do you think the breathe right strip will work since he is older? Thank you!
This is such an awesome technique. We have a Husky/Blue Heeler. I'm going to use my husband's strips starting today. Thank you!!!
You’re welcome, CajunRose 1313! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
I have never heard of someone with a husky and blue heeler like mine !!!!!
Currently trying on our 6 month old heeler! His brothers are up naturally. So there’s hope!
I’m going to try this. Thanks for sharing.
What glue can I use? The Breathe Right strips are not sticking. Thanks!
thats awesome never thought of that. thanks
Love your posted video!
Thanks, Linda! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! ~Ken
Man that’s really smart. Thanks for this
Thanks, Andrew. Glad you found it helpful! ~Ken
I have a 9 week old Yorkie. Both ears are flopped always. One of the things I loved about my other Yorkies was their tall ears, so I will give this a try. Thank you
Did it work? I have a 12 week old yorkie & want to give it a try
Excellent idea
What a good idea. I’ve been using tape but is not going to b as ridged as a breath right strip. Thank you.
I love you❤😍 I’m going to try the breath easy strips on my puppy
What is the glue to stick the Breath-right strips back in? Why is it a secret, is it just Tear Mender by VAL-A CHICAGO, INC? All the other sites recommended it.
What do you use to clean the ears? Alcohol??
Also, what glue do you use?
I tried this with my 4 month old heeler and he just thrashed around untill the strips flew out and stuck to the wall!
Thank you I have a husky border collie and her ears are about halfway up and I want to start doing something before it’s too late she’s only Six weeks old she was a rescue we got her when she was two weeks old. She’s beautiful she kind of looks like that dog they’re both mine. I have a husky border collie puppy, and Australian Shepherd border collie. They almost look like
Mccan Dog Training : any tips for nun ears ? we have tried taping but it only corrects it for a day at most and then they go back to nun ears. Also it makes his ears accumulate too much dirt so i dont want to do it anymore since it could cause an infection.
thank you so much going to try this trick on my corgi husky
My collie is almost 4 months old. What part of the tape goes on the ear I guess mean sticky part and how do you flip over?
Hello, I was curious as to Bo's floppy ear were u able to correct it ?
as i have a chinese crested whos ears were taped from the breeder and i wld like to continue taping them so they can eventually stand up
I wanted to ask u if i shld shave her ear on the outside, its very short?
Also wld love to see Bo,'s ear
Could you provide a link to the glue used for sticking the strip back once it starts coming off?
What glue do you use? My boy seems to have an allergic reaction to Torbot glue that most dobie folks recommend. His ear (left one) does good when it's posted, but he scratches it out because he is so sensitive to the glue. I really want to get that ear UP, but not at the expense of him being miserable for the month or so I feel it will take. HELP!
I agree, you are the one that is gonna look your dog every day not those meddling fools, I would do the same thing.
What is the special glue that you use on them?
My puppy's one ear literally drapes over the top of her head pretty severely whenever she uses he ear muscle to listen or really anything it is always this way. I don't know if she will grow out of that or if she will just forever have a wonky ear lol but I never seen anything like it.
Wow! Amazing! Works for a 6 months Corgi?
does this work alot simpler than using the tape method?? my 4 month old doberman seems to be in discomfort with the tape an i hate the fact he need to keep it on every 4 days x.x...
Hi :) thanks for this helpful tip. Does this work on older puppies? Mine is about 11months old
@mccanndogtrainer I am also wondering this as well as the type of glue you use !
Several people have asked about this "special glue" that you mentioned but it seems to have gone unanswered. Would you please share what it is? Thanks 🙂
Nice video. What is the purpose of the machine (suction?) that is being used on the dog at the end of the video?
It uses laser light to stimulate the muscles. It improves blood flow and speeds up muscle recovery after exercise! Our dogs LOVE it!
@@McCannDogs my tiny little dog one ear stays down one ear stands up can I do what u said on UA-cam am in uk
Can you make any breeds ears go up? Or just certain breeds who ears are made to go up
Please help. What do I do if one of his ears continues to go completely sideways across his forehead? One is perfect with the tape in the other continues to right ear continues to lean left across his head
Going to try on our min pin. Thanks for the idea!
Did it work?
Can I do this with my 9 month old border collie mix?
My dogs ears are simi floppy, and prck ears. One of her ears just got really floppy. What do I do?
At what age should I do this on my German Shepherd puppy? thanks!
What’s the special glue you used? I need help training my puppy’s ears.
yeah don't you love that you came here for dog ear information and got a bunch of unrelated stuff?
The special glue is already on the breathe right strip.
@@bunniesbunniesbunnie She gave the answer in the first few minutes.
Thank you! Can't wait to try this on Stevie Nips she's almost a year old hopefully it's not to late
What type of glue do you use if they won’t stay in? Thank you!!
Anyone know what kind of glue is best?
Wait do you apply the strips horizontal or vertical?? I don’t get this... also will it work for a 1.3 year old pup?
You're going to place the strip perpendicular (like you would put a stitch straight across the length of a wound) to crease that forms when your dog's ear is folded (floppy).
At 1.3 years, the cartilage is mostly (if not entirely) developed. If you see results, they'll take a pretty long time to manifest.
Is there any way they can get this off?
To put them in their crates unattended with this on their ears … what if they were to get it off and eat it? Or is it stuck on pretty good?
Is the strip strong enough to hold up the ears right then when i put it into the ears?? I mean it's just can't hold up my dog's ears:(
I have a Pitsky and he’s around 11 or 12 weeks, his ears are floppy but his moms are standing up so I don’t know if they’ll just stand up naturally, can anyone help?
Can this be used as an alternative to cropping?
What kind of glue are you using that you said was safe?
hurstfamily6 you can use eye lashes glue, if it safe for your eye then safe for ears...
Ostomy skin glue that you can buy at a pharmacy, like Skin Tac or Osto Bond. You might have to go to a drug store that carries more of the home health care products.
Ostomy skin glue makes a lot of sense. Great idea.
It's a breathe right strip. It comes with glue, like a bandaid. They're aids for snoring.
@@modernharuspicy yeah but it might not be sticky enough, like my puppy ears are so furry and it won’t stick fully so the glue would help.
Does thing work on a half german shepherd puppy?
Ken I need help! My husband and I have a 3.5 month Blue frenchie and his ears are half stood up. We love him to pieces but I know my husband is pretty bummed they haven't stood. We need your help! Is he too old or could this work? ANY and ALL advice WELCOME! :)
Hi there, Jean. I don’t have any experience with Frenchie ears. Traditionally their ears are starting to go up by 3 months old I believe. It may be worth reaching out to your breeder or to a breed club to see if they have any more breed specific information. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, and those ears! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
will this work on a european 4 month old doberman?
Would this work on a german pinscher puppy who does not have his ear cropped and if so, how soon should I do this? Really love it when their ears are full and stand up like rabbits!
a GSD pups ears might not stand up on their own, some may need help.. they start teething and start cut their adult teeth at 16 weeks..at 4 months ,so their ears can fall down and go up and down again then too,,,if not up by 5 months,,,try this or Dr Sholls moleskin... If they arent up by 6 or 7 months tho chances are they wont stand up.........GSD pups ears are not cropped.
I just bought a Xolo 11 month in the picture the ears are up but when she arrived they lobbed down, I tried the strips but they won’t stick too well. My breeder tells me buy the time my dog is 1 1/2 yrs the ears will be up, really?
Thanks so much for this! A great trick! My puppy is a Pomeranian / poodle mix, so one ears is up and one is floppy ( but she can raise it when she is excited). She is 10.5 months now. Do you think this could still work to make her floppy ear a bit stronger ? Thank you
Did it work? My pups are 8 months
@@OfficalPrinceToni nope! But to be honest she did not like having anything in her ear and kept scratching at it so I have given up, didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. She is cute as she is 😊
@@katr4071 ok thank you for your reply
Will this work for my gsd. He had an ear hematoma and surgery and now one ear won't stand up
would this work on doberman ears too ?
My german shepherd ears need to stand how long should we wait? Too try to this?
Does this work for dobermans ear crop? I've been going to the vet every week to get it taped, would this be solution?
Hi there, Abdulllah! I don’t know, I’ve never tried this method with a Doberman. I would stick with your current method only because it’s being overseen by your vet. Thanks for watching! ~Ken
I bought the strips and it's only been in a few short hours and seems to not be sticking already?
i am having the same problem, i’m considering taping the floppy ear to keep it in place
Does this work for dogs that are already fully grown?
I adopted a 1 year old Yorkie and i was wondering if this would work for her ears she is prone to ear infections and its hard to keep them pin back since she keeps taking it off.
Hi there, CerulianSins! 1 year old is too old for the ear posting to work. Sorry, and thanks for watching! ~Ken
Does this work for an 8-month-old BC?
Whats a good age to do this with german shepherd?
Can i do this yo a 1 year old yorkie? Will it work?
At what age do you recommend intervening?
So I just got a German shepherd golden retriever puppy. I REALLY want his ears to stand, he is only 7 weeks. What age do you recommend starting this?
did they stand on their own?
What kind of a dog is that brindle at 7:25 into the video?
At what age is it recommended to start this ?
What age is best for tapeing a border collie puppy's ears using the breath right strips
Umm, NO! Border Collie's ears are NOT supposed to stay up. Please don't do it, especially if the dog will really be used for herding. Don't worry, they will eventually stand up on their own. I've owned many and they always have done it on their own.
@@fltmed when it start getting up? I mean my dog is 3.5 months old border mix golden that I rescue almost 2 months ago, and his ear is still flopping around
What do you use to clean the ears? When I tried using the strips they just don’t want to stick to the skin.
make sure there's no hair cause that will prevent it from sticking, I used peroxide on a paper towel
Can I do this on my 10 week old bull terrier’s ears? They have not stood up yet
We have two huskies at home. They’re from the same litter. One have erect ears already at around 3-4 months. Meanwhile, the other one still have floppy ears. They are turning 7 months this October. Is it too late to tape it?
Will this work for older corgi s?
Can this work on a dog who’s floppy eared but is trying to rose
I have a Morkie who is 9 months old is that too late?
My daughter s Belgian Malinois has floppy ears. I hope this works.
I have a 10 weeks old German Shepherd and she is dropping one ear. This might work for her. Gonna try it
It is gonna come naturally
So, what is the glue? My dog let me put the strips in her ears but she shook her head and they went flying.
Hey, I have a husky pup who is 7.5 weeks and one ear is completely floppy and the other depends on the day. Is it too early to try this trick or should i give it some more time ?
Ideally, the puppy should be around 11-12 weeks before you start this process. Typically Husky ears will go up on their own so you could probably wait until your pup is 5-6 months old before you need to worry ;) They will likely go up without issue. Thanks for watching! ~Ken
perfect, thanks for the quick reply !
Be VERY careful if you use breathe right strips- the glue irritated my boston puppy's ears. I switched to nexcare cloth tape instead (3 layers) since it's breatheable and doesn't irritate them.
Good to know, Julia. We have never had any inflammation from the glue on the breathe right strips. But it's good to know about the alternative! Thanks! ~Ken
there is a ton of hair on the inside of the ear.. did you shave it?
@@McCannDogs do you have to get the breathe right extra strips or can you get any
@@McCannDogs what about dogs too small for a breathe right? I have a little yorkie that the tip of her ear sags.
Tried this and my pup is going NUTS lol she hates having something stuck to her ear
Will this particular technique work on rat terrier ears too?
Hi there, Chris! I’ve never tried it on Terrier’s ears. You’ll hav to let us know if you try it! ~Ken
Any idea of this would work on a German Shepherd mix? His mom is German Shepherd and they assume his dad was a black lab because all the pups were black.
Mine is 8 weeks old and I'm really hoping his ears will stand up. I think he'll look a little strange with floppy ears, he's adorable right now with them and I've done a good job of not touching his ears in the past few days so the cartilage will grow stinger. So I'm just wondering if this will help his ears stand up if they have any chance of standing up at all.
Hi! Just came across your comment, I’m getting a German shep x Black Lab too in a few weeks, I’d love for her ears to stand, I was just wondering if your pups ears stood naturally or if you had to help them?
Thanks in advance!
I have 2 German shepherd lab mixes my male (2 years ago) has one up and one floppy but I really want my girls (9 weeks) to stand!
My puppy is 4 months old will this still work?
This isn't working for my pup. What type of glue do you recommend?
Would this work on cropped ears? I have a cane corso puppy and his ears are bending on to the top of his head.
Following
Did you try it? If so did it work
It didn't the ears aren't big enoiy and flat enough inside so then pad doesn't stick to it, I was just using posts and tape. But that also didn't last long unless you use a collar other wise dog will take it down. But honestly massage the ear every day. My dogs ears fixed it self. Just takes time. Make sure they have chewing toys. Chewing helps their ear stand up
I think these are going to work. I did want to mention that the strips i bought had plastic supports instead of metal. I was able to cut it in half and her ears still were able to stick up.
Did it help??
It did for a while. Maybe I should have supported them longer. I only did it for 2 weeks.
What is the breed of this dog.
I tried to tape my Schnauzers ears , She has a infection in ears that I am treating . And it is hard to get the tape to stick I also wanted her to get as much air as possible in her ears . This method is AWSOME it dose not bother her like the tape did, She gets a ton of air to her ear canal to help with her infection. And it dose not bug her with something down in her ears where her infection is. I love this ideal BIG THANK YOU for sharing with me..
Glad you found it so helpful! Thanks fo watching! ~Ken
Did you need to use glue at all? What glue is recommended
I have a german shepherd 11 weeks bit ears have not stand up yet when does his ears stand up??
Stephanie Rojas too young. Some are upright already but if yours is floppy we’ll have to wait til 7-8 mos.
I have a almost 8 month German Shepard and one of her ears stand up and the other doesn't is she too old to do it?
Did your pup's ears stand up?? Updates..
Yes updates please did it stand ?
I need to know what kind of glue you use. My dog slung that thing right out within 1 minute
MIne, too.
What about a lab whose ear does not bend like the other? How can you make them match???

What about a matured dog? Does it work on them?
Wow, that's kinda cool. Instead of using a tampon and a ton of tape. The traditional taping closes up the ear so much, and I've seen so many bad yeast infections from inappropriate taping
Hey, would this work on a 11 week old French bulldog??
Hi there, Fishing Filmz! I’ve never tried it with a French Bulldog. You’ll have to let me know how it works! Thanks for watching ~Ken
