Our swiss had one floppy ear, one upright war for most of the first few months of her life. Was absolutely adorable. Hers perked up after her teething and stayed. Still more flexible than her sisters.
This was very helpful, thank you! My first 3 german shepherds never had any issues with their ears standing but we now also have a 6mo swiss and they are floppy as can be. I’m thinking that trick with the string should be perfect for him.
Thank you for making this! This is EXACTLY what is going on right now with my 16-week-old GSD, Winston. About 12 weeks both ears came up, and stayed up for roughly the next 2-3 weeks. Then literally just this past week his left ear is bending over again, and sometimes the right ear flops over in a weird looking way. My breeder says give it until he is 5-months-old for both ears to be up, and the vet just looked at him this week and told me not to worry. When did Kibo’s ears stand back up after bending over again at 16-weeks-old?
I have a husky shepherd mix and her ears were standing up perfectly and just over night one of them started to flop I am a bit concerned about this until i saw this video but i have 2 other dogs and they play a lot and sometimes get wild
Kibo looks so cute 😆😆 I didn't know about this! My dog has one ear that stands up and the other is floppy. Really wish i could see what he looked like as a puppy 😆😆😆
With my longcoat German shepherd puppies I add a little chicken feed in their food till they are about 1 year 7 months old. And I glue the side of their ears to their fur with tear mender glue.(non toxic). For about a few months, it grows then I cut it off.till both ears are staying up. And a little non flavor gelatin powder in their food daily for 2 weeks also work s.
Good video. Years ago, I used the pink foam rollers that my sisters used to roll their hair. I wish you had included a link to where you got the various products you used in this video.
I do have a question. My White Swiss Shepherd has 1 ear that is not standing. Would you suggest that I still use one in each ear to tie them up together? thank you
Grazie mille x questo video io ho un pastore tedesco di 6 mesi e le orecchie non sono perfette come dovrebbero essere e ho acquistati i supporti su amazon
Any advice I’m taping my German Shepherd puppies ears at four months, and she keeps trying to scratch it off or shake her head and I’m using the same bonding cement and ears
thx for this vid! can you link the wipes adhesive remover? am planning to do breath right strips but don't want to pull his fur out using on the back of his ears b/c he has battled a yeast infection on the inside, which i believe led to this floppy nature. he's also CHEWING A LOT right now. every now and again the ear pops up, and i can see he's doing it with muscle, but then it flops right over as if the cartledge is broken from when a dog walker rubbed on his ears (sham on her).
It’s probably too late to answer but, Yes it would make them perk up like German shepherd ears not as cropped ears it just doesn’t look good makes the dog look mixed either cropped or floppy
Most of the time you should get the puppy a calcium, not neceserilly glue the ears. I've never heard about shepherds having their ears glued. But most of the times they do come up by themself. And I'd like to mark that I own a whise swiss shepherd myself.
You shouldn't add calcium to a shepherd puppy's diet because it can mess up their calcium:phosphorus ratio of their diet, which needs to stay between 1:1 and 1.3:1. Large breed pups eating balanced diets containing recommended amounts of calcium should not be given calcium supplements. But yes the majority of the time the ears come up by themselves!
OMG SHUT UP!!! this vid could hav taken 9O SECONDS to show all methods.. yet you go on and on and onnnn... didnt show the actual application of the strips method, just applying glue to them.. ok.. (then you hav TWO in his ears at 8:17 , wish you had shown THAT instead of just YOU TALKING TALKING..!) and the typing of the string.. of course its not rocket surgery, but its the REASON I watched the vid..! I wanted to see the methods, you showed the forms, and then cutting the forms some some other material, (I didnt pay attention at that point because you just went on and on and onnnnnnn..) and you never showed the taping method.. at all. good grief..!

VERY easy to understand, thorough but not at all boring.
Thanks very much! 👏🏻
Could you include links of the materials you used! This is perfect! I have a huksy mix I would like the ears to stand. This was so helpful!
Right like wtf?
I have a pitsky with one wonky ear. 🥰

Thank you for this informative video! My miniature pincher is 1.5 years old. Do you think it’ll still work for him?

I would like to know which of the supports is on which side (ear) that is seen more clearly

Have your dog (when puppy is best) chew on large bone to develop muscles connected to his jaw and ears.
How did you tie them up
My malinois have 1 ear nearly up and one îs down and he îs 13 months
Did the ears ever stand? My Mals ears are in airplane mode. He's 13 months.
@@davidcomas5698 did your dogs ears ever stand up? My german shepard mix 9 months old ears keep going up and down😂
Thank you for this video.
My dog is half boxer bull and half german shepert what can i do to make his ears stand up one is up, one is flop?
Nice video, Emily!!!

Four months is too early. Give it time

I like your lectures... please at what age can I start to apply this method of making my dog ear stand?
They come down when they are teething!
You used cement on your dog? And I don’t think this is the same glue women use for wigs either! Good looking dog though and half decent method.
Is it ever too late? My dog is already over a year old.
Preferred tape?
Does this works for dobermans without ear cropping?

Is there a link to the ear forms
Redline ear forms

Ps Kibo od adorable. Smart puppy!

The ears was taped before.. no one noticed?!
Gluing a dogs ears That is damn right cruel
Saying that is dumb. If you broke your arm, wouldn’t you want a cast so it could heal properly? Same concept
It’s skin glue. We use this stuff for hand therapy.
It's just ears...who cares if they are up or down....
Mostly depends on if ur showing they gotta meet breed standards such as pointed ears
