GENERAL SEASON BULL ELK MUZZLE LOADER HUNT - UTAH 2022 - (unsuccessful)

- With time running out, Dylan and I made an attempt at killing bulls on one of the any bull units in Utah. We were able to quickly locate several elk including some bulls to go after. However, the steep terrain and very deep snow made the going incredibly slow. We ended up with a couple opportunities and that is basically all you could ever hope for on these challenging hunts. No shots were fired and no bulls were killed, but we had an incredible adventure and can’t wait to have that chance again.
Enjoy.
Man I thought that was a done deal.
We were close man. But, you know how that goes. We needed only maybe another 20 seconds or so and that super cool spike by five would have been dead.
Oh well. Maybe next year.
Take care man. Good luck in Az!
Awesome stuff! 👌
Thank you Nathan.
Cool experiences! What is the rifle case that your son uses in this video?
Thank you. That is the new rifle cover from Kuiu. It’s the best one I’ve found. I have tried several… including the Original Solo Hunter rifle cover. This one is the best designed cover for quick access, light weight and overall coverage and protection.
@@BMCBryce Awesome! Thank you!
Fun hunt! I love late season hunts in snow!
Amen. They are a lot of fun for sure. We were about as close and you can get without getting one killed that time. Hopefully this year we’ll be able to close the deal. Best of luck man. Take care.
At least you guys have located them and you know where to go for next year! Some great, unique bulls over there!
I agree. It will hopefully be that much easier next year. Thanks for watching and take care.
That looked like a tough climb through all that snow and deadfall. Great video even though you didn't harvest. You got a lot of great footage.
It wasn’t easy… that’s for sure. It’s crazy what we’ll put ourselves through, just to see bulls - isn’t it?! We were super close to making it happen, but unfortunately, not close enough. Dylan was about to bust that funky spike by five when he stepped behind some trees. Dang it.
Anyway… thanks for the kind words - as always. Take care and God bless.
Crazy antlers on those bulls. Nothing like a fire and animal cookies in the snow. Hope you got your truck out. Good luck.
Yeah, there was the one wonky bull that was a spike by five (basically) and then the bigger bull that was missing a 3rd. It’s fascinating how they can be so different. Broken headlight on the truck that I’ll need to replace… but other than that, no worse for wear.
You ever need a hand let me know man! Also one hell of another season congrats on all the success! I got my deer but missed some elk. If I can find some on the front I'll give it another go but only coming across deer everywhere I search.
Thanks man. Best of luck as you search for elk. I know it can be tough. I still have an elk tag here in Utah, but I’m running out of time to hunt.
We’ll see what happens I guess.
Haha i feel you in hunting till dark, then have to drive back home so you can work in the morning!! Haha I’m doing that right now, hit a hunter tomorrow, then slam it home for work! Great content man, thank you!
Thanks Wayne. That’s very kind of you. We do what we have to - so we can do what we want to do… right?
Man where are they living in a radiation field with those goofy antlers?
Kind of strange to see bulls with such different antler configurations - all together like that. Guess that’s what you get on some of the any bull units.
What part of Utah is this? Northern?
Lol
@@deerloversheridan3038 oh I get it, can't say because it's a super secret place or something right? I just wanna know where I can see elk, if it's private land then rip
This was on the North Slope of the Uintas. So, yes - it’s in Northern Utah. On one of the any bull units. We worked hard and found a small pocket of elk living way higher than I was expecting to find them. Best of luck.
@@BMCBryce yeah I saw some packing out elk up north of that in Logan canyon, but they were coming from the Idaho border on a quad, blew my mind since I've never seen an elk up there but I also haven't looked hard for them haha, glad you found some though
@@BMCBryce and thank you for the info sir!
