    Thank you for the camera angle of installing the belt to idler. I have had a repairman replaced all those roller 6 months ago due to screeching noise. But the dryer is doing it again. I don't want to pay another $300 for something that can happen many times. I was very afraid on taking our dryer apart to clean it as I may not know how to put it all back together. This is the best comprehensive video I've seen out of all in youtube. I really appreciate it.

    An exceptionally well done video. Perhaps the best DYI video I have ever seen. Step by step on how to disassemble, replace and put back together. No, “Just reverse the process.” Awesome.

    The centrifugal switch inside my motor had disentigrated, causing the drum to appear to bind. It was difficult to turn. I assumed that my problem was the rollers, so I orderen a set before I took the dryer apart. I was sad to find my rollers in perfect shape. Upon examining the debris in the floor I found two small springs and a chunk of plastic. Looking into the internals of the motor I saw the broken switch. Now awaiting delivery of my new motor to be back in business. This video and the one about roller replacement were SO helpful in my repair! Thank you! (So, I went ahead and replaced all 4 rollers anyway since I had them and mine were from 2006)

    This is an incredible video. So well done! A great guide! I was able to replace my motor easily. The only other thing people should know is to clean as you go. My dryer was in service for 8 years so there was a lot of lint and dust build up. Thank you very much!

    Great video, got my dryer fixed. Thank you so much !! Could you possibly add a warning for when you are loosening the blower wheel nut ? Mine was very tight, and when it broke loose by knuckle hit the blower wheel cover which has a VERY sharp metal edge. Cut me so bad I had to get stitches. The other option would be to remove the cover BEFORE your loosen the nut. Don't want someone else to hurt themselves the same way I did. Thank you !!

    Great video. I replaced my motor and it took just over an hour. The blower wheel was a bit stubborn, but otherwise an easy job just as shown. Thanks

    Awesome video. My dryer motor was dying. I ordered a new motor and had it installed in 25 minutes. Your instructions made the repair a simple process. Thank you!

      When you say dying what do you mean. I’m trying to figure out if that is the problem mine. I changed the belt and idle pulley and still won’t spin with a heavier load.

      @@Jwags5 motor dying. We could open the door to ours, spin the drum, shut it fast and press start and it would run. After a month or 2 like that it wouldn't even start...it would just buzz for 5 or 6 seconds and turn off. Dying motor.

    So I have my LG dryer taken apart, when I try to spin the drum, only the belt and the drum spin and the motor pulley stays completely locked up. Is this my issue? Because it looks like your motor spins when you force the drum to spin. Maybe it's time to replace my motor? All of my rollers spin freely so I know it isn't that.
    Thanks for any tips!

    Thank you very much for this video!! Here me out a lot. My original motor was 4681el1002a...was sent 4681el1008a (replacement I am told) it runs great but it is extremely LOUD! Before, you could barely hear the clothes tumbling...now I hear the sound of the motor all through the house. I was wondering if anyone had that same issue...?

    THANK YOU, I HAVE A LG DRYER (model 811KWEL00469) and it starts and after 4 seconds the drum stops ROTATING AND UNIT STOPS. The lcd screen remains showing time remaining. When attempt to start again ... no response occurs. Can you suggest a possible diagnosis? the lint was cleared from the exhaust tube. Same result. The unit had worked prior this.

      Did you ever find out what the issue was? I have one with the same symptom. Thoroughly cleaned everything out. Motor was seized up but was able to break it free and is spinning but for only 4 seconds.

    Hello,, where is the capicitor for this motor?

  • @jhopk83388
    @jhopk83388 3 роки тому +1

    PSA: When you take the old motor out -There's a little clamp on the motor shaft. You'll need that. (Spent 30 minutes wondering why the blower fan wouldn't seat properly.)

    My dryer will tumble until I put wet clothes in it. I have changed the belt and the idle pulley and the dryer still won’t hold the weight. Could this be due to a bad motor?
