I absolutely LOVE British trains! Somehow, especially the HSTs, they still have that elegance and style from the early days, when rail travel was something special :)
I love every countries train systems. Amtrak Adela has a Washington Boston line based on Bombardier train.. I'm not american. I know that New York Metro vans are delivered by Alstom. The hull is made in Brazil. The rest in Hornell, New York
Just come back to watch this I think I way he'd this video about 7-8 times as a child, I just want to say thank you for making my dream come true as I'm also now trainspotting.. Thank you
@Charmed66Fan Its not a King's Cross unit. Its the same company "first capital connect" but they also operate between Brighton & Bedford, and that footage was at Bedford.
The station announcement used to say "stand back from the platform or you might get sucked off by the train" but too many trainspotter were getting excited by the thought standing to close and getting killed, true story, lol.
@ 3:44 that man appears to be very close to the passing train. I imagine he is accustomed to the speed and especially the odd phasing sound that the trains make. Thanks for a cool video.
This is great! Gives a better impression of speed than a car/truck on a Motorway. And yet people still insist on wandering about on our roads with 70+ mph vehicles passing by, and they don't give it a thought. Get them to walk next to a railway line for a couple of miles and they might think again?!
My house is opposite a south eastern train line and sometimes an old steam train, named the orient express, passes through. This happens rarely (like once or twice a year if we're lucky)
Yes, I noticed. There are a lot of videos like this on youtube including many videos showing steam locomotives with big oval wheels. But judging from the few comments about this problem, only very few people seem to notice it. I'm one of them but I'm not very happy about it.
@Rachelmatt. By far the best train vid i've seen on here in a long time. Excellent! And i'm with u on ur opinion of plane vs train (crashes). Im in the rail industry too
Warning is if rail staff were working in the tunnel. Tunnels have safety refuges built into the sides at regular intervals and have had since the beginning of rialways..have a look next time you go through a tunnel...
I bet you're great fun to go out with on a date! The sleeper is longer than Eurostar, less coaches but the actual coach length is longer. How long, exactly? I'd love to know!
Excellent shots, kudos. I do have a question. I've seen lots of shots of diesel trains traveling under electrified lines. Is this because the tracks at the trains' originating/terminating station are not electrified? Pleasent greetings from the USA.
Nice selection. Why does the sleeper at 2:45 or thereabouts have a tail lamp? I thought MkIII sleepers had built in tail lights? I remember seeing an 86 at Crewe when I was a student at Liverpool, with I think 17 or 18 coaches on the sleeper.
both of our coasts have fast trains but for us in the middle of the USA, it is not so good...btw, our private rr companies did not like to do passenger service but yours apparently have several companies doing well. Are these lines receiving large subsidies? I like watching these fast trains.
I noticed how the Virgin Pendlino from Manchester Piccadilly - London Euston went from nine cars to eleven. Also, the trains are becoming more punctual.
Jacob Makinson Also known as the Network Rail Measurement Train, formerly working for Virgin Trains on the WCML, and like you said, a very rare sight indeed.
the nostalgia im getting from rewatching this is insane
I remember watching this video when it was only released 4 years ago. Now that it's 12 I realise how fast time has gone by😢
My 3-year-old son loved this video. Kept him quiet for 10 minutes so have favourited it. Thanks.
My 41 year old mum loved this video. Kept her quiet for 10 minutes so have favourited it. Thanks.

Even after nearly 40 years, the HSTs have a simple, elegant beauty none of the other quite match..
And now they're gone :(
0:54 that old granny didnt flinch when the valenta passed lol

I watched this for the first time like 4 years ago, Never realised it was made in 2010
I remember watching this when I was 3-4 years old! The nostalgia I’m getting is phenomenal
Love the way that old lady stood on that yellow line (0.54) and didn't flinch an inch. Either nerves of steel or completely oblivious.
Good memories. I used to love this video.
Cool trains- but the platform width gives me goose bumps! SCARY! Especially with kids!
this man has clearly never gone on the glasgow subway
nice way to finish off with an echoing 3-tone from a class 360/1
THIS IS THE GREATEST TRAIN VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN. 2.56, I dream of witnessing moments like that....... *excited shudder*
That is a Class 180 Adelante in First livery. There's a Grand Central-liveried one at 2:03

Great Filming, you really get a feeling of the speed.

Hi love all those HST's (class 43's) and all of third different liveries
My favourite section was the West Coast Main Line. Thumbs up if you agree.
I agree
MatthewTheGAMER_ Minecrafter my favorite where the high speed ones
More specifically, the old Eurostar’s
No. Sorry. Gresley Country, was and still is the best!!
ECML cos of the valenta
9 years later still loving it (especially the GC hst)
Same!
Wow! Full Speed through the station!
I know right I love it
It's awesome that sound off the swishing by! So many different trains!
The station announcement used to say "stand back from the platform or you might get sucked off by the train" but too many trainspotter were getting excited by the thought standing to close and getting killed, true story, lol.
The first of a great series of videos :)
the trains at 2:55 looked like they were going to topple XD
Some Cross Country and Virgin trains tilt while going round corners
yea i realised that after, just a scary sighting :P
@@GamingHighSpeed All Cross Country Super Voyagers have had the tilting system removed.
God I love how powerful trains are
love it, well worthy of over one million views
great job ( :

The MK3s on the ECML sound amazing!!
Let's hope hs2 has the go ahead. This would give us train enthusis a good look at some new trains
0:54 Sounds Better Than Colby Kendrick😈
I love the sound of the rails bubbling and crackling as they get closer what makes that sound anyone tell me?
The rail quality, the train that's going on the rails and junctions cause those sounds
Awww, Phil Sayers voice. RIP Phil Sayers ❤️
Ever thought about doing more trains at speed? Hampshire has a few stations where you get trains coming through!
Pretty fast trains. Very interesting. Thumbs up! :)

Intersting vid :)
Fantastic compilation. Great job!!
My little boy loves this!
Some good trains there guys. Nice to see some of the disapearing types and liveries.
Very enjoyable viewing.A great selectiond from the main regions. Thanks for sharing
Great video. Off to watch part 2 now. Thanks

@bohunt4443 If you're referring to the all-yellow HST set early in the vid, it's Network Rail's New Measurement Train (NMT)
Class 360 Desiro, same as used on Heathrow Connect.
Excellent combination! Stratford looks mint!
V. Good and well filmed
great footage, enjoyed it very much, thanks
All trains in the UK run on the same track. All track is 1435mm width.
2nd 1 - Northallerton, where I live
the facr that there was a Grand Centeral class 43 Valenta was amazing
2:56 is a realy nice catch. Video doesn't do the justice for the GWS diesel trains. They sound freaking powerfull in real life.
I saw a network rail passenger version last week on the way back from school
Amazing compilation!
Great video matey,
I subscribe 😁
Great stuff that Grand Central was flying at 1 min what station is it on the wcml at 3mins looks a good place to see them at full tilt
I bet you're great fun to go out with on a date! The sleeper is longer than Eurostar, less coaches but the actual coach length is longer. How long, exactly? I'd love to know!
Nice Pretendolino captures!
All Trains In The video Sound Better Than Jensen Day
5:42 Probs the first time I have seen a eurostar in a video when I was young
@rachaelmatt Thanks for that info, my word the uk rail face is changing, i just love the haunting noise these things make as they pass.
@digra1968 no, that's a 170 turbostar.
Excellent shots, kudos. I do have a question. I've seen lots of shots of diesel trains traveling under electrified lines. Is this because the tracks at the trains' originating/terminating station are not electrified? Pleasent greetings from the USA.

good vidio,,i like the way the chick sais this train dont stop here,,,i guss your out of luck if you want to get on,,,,,lol,,,thanks for sharing,
Wow. That's some pedal-to-the-metal RRing!
Man, i used to be terrified when one of those class 90s went past.
It probably wasn't working at the time
Very good 👍 👏 👌 VIDEO 👍 📹 AWESOME/AMAZING AND IMPRESSIVE
I love this !!
4:50 is that London overerground
nope
Holy shit at 3:30 that train nearly killed two birds.
@thomsonfly645k Yes, Eurostars can be doing 186mph and 395's 140.
awesome channel and great videos
You evidently have never stood at a station when a Shinkasen has passed by.
love the dr yellow hst train
The Chubby Controller The Measurement train? Yeah its pretty cool :P, but you need to go to stations a lot to see it running, a rare sight
Was one of your locations Milton Keynes Central because at 02:37 it looks very much like it :D
10:20 didn't know GA's 170s went to London, what line did they use the 170s on?
Greater Anglia 170s never went to London
@@maimadha they did under NXEA / one!

Fab footage!
the train at 1:20 (the yellow hst ) is a track observing train kind of rare 2 see
